Your conflicting thoughts were drowned out by, mostly the blaring music, and the sights outside the window of the car. Once you left the area of houses surrounding where these two found you, there were even more cars, and other different-looking cars. It seemed to be a bulky rectangle shape, colored yellow, black, and white. Besides the transportation, the buildings were spectacular. Windows were lit with the lights inside, and people scrambled in and out of them. Connor also seemed to be looking outside, too. Hank was preoccupied with driving and listening to his music. You quickly realized you weren't shaking anymore, although your head started to hurt more due to the loud music. But you wouldn't complain. Suddenly the car jolted to a stop in front of a large building.
"You alright takin' her in on your own?" Hank asked, looking at Connor. Connor nodded sharply.
"Yes, Lieutenant." Hank hummed in response, looking back out the window. He looked up at the large building for a moment before looking away with a grief-stricken look on his face. It quickly turned to anger. The car door next to you swung open.
"Follow me, I'll bring you inside." Connor reached a hand out to you. You looked him up and down, before hesitantly taking it. He lifted you to your feet carefully, then closed the car door. Hank sped off out of the parking lot, presumably back to the house. You walked side by side with Connor to the large white building. People seemed to be flooding around it, despite it being nighttime.
"If you are not aware, we are going to this hospital to see if you are severely hurt." Connor explained. You gave an "Oh" as a response. The wide front doors automatically slid open for your entry. Inside, every wall and door was covered in white. You could hear loud ringing noises far away, and many people talking at once. Connor confidently walked to the front desk. You were too busy looking around to listen in on what Connor said to the front desk lady. Soon enough the brown-eyed man looked at you strangely.
"Are you coming?" He asked you.
"What?" You asked in response quietly. He pointed to a group of chairs alongside each other.
"We need to wait." He walked to a chair and sat down. You followed, and sat next to him. You finally took some time to examine this so called 'Connor'. His dark brown eyes were lit up in the many lights inside the hospital, along with his hair of the same color. His face was very symmetrical- almost like he was perfect. You also just noticed the blue ring implanted in the right side of his forehead. His suit was one of an average formal suit, along with a long black tie to match. You gazed over the neon blue band wrapped around his right arm, and the triangle of the same color on his upper left chest.
"Um..." You spoke up. He turned to look at you.
"Why do you have that blue ring in your forehead? And the numbers on your suit?" You attempted to ask as politely as possible. Connor looked down at himself to see what you were talking about, then responded.
"According to the Android Act, all Androids are required to wear these LED's at all times to distinguish Androids between humans." He directed a finger to the blue ring. You assumed the same for the blue arm band.
"It additionally helps in distinguishing mental state and physical stability." Connor smiled slightly. You tilted your head to see the rest of his uniform.
"The model and serial number are also meant to determine the difference between Androids and humans. My model is RK800, and my serial number is #313 248 317 - 51 ." He explained further. Your eyes met back up to his.
"What's... an Android?" You asked slowly. You didn't remember hearing anything like it. Connor looked at you strangely. His eyebrows furrowed over his eyes, and slight creases appeared on his forehead.
"Apologies. I neglected to remember your memory loss. Androids are machines that are built and designed to handle common tasks that humans were meant to do. For example, I am meant to assist lieutenant Anderson at the Detroit City Police Department." You leaned back in the cushioned chair, taking in the information.
"Okay." You mumbled. "Thanks..." Connor nodded swiftly, and went back to staring into space. He seemed to do that frequently. As you looked around, you noticed many more 'Androids' walking around the entrance to the hospital. In fact, the woman at the front desk was an Android. If they were such a big part of humanity, then why hadn't you remembered it?
You soon saw a friendly-looking Android woman walking towards you.
"Good evening, you two. Follow me so we can analyze you." She smiled, showing off her pearly white teeth. You and Connor stood up to follow her. The three of you walked down a few hallways, with each wall looking identical. How does anyone make their way around here? Connor was looking around at his surroundings. Maybe he will remember the way out of this maze. Soon enough you arrived to a small room. There was a bed, a chair, and other electronic devices, of which you had no clue how any of them worked.
"Please take a seat." She smiled at you, waiting patiently. You wandered over to the bed covered with white sheets, and Connor sat next to you in the chair.
"Thank you for coming. My name is Katie!" She introduced herself.
"Now, let's start easy. What is the first thing you remember?" Her soothing voice echoed in the other corners of the rectangular room. This was the one question you had dreaded. Your eyes trailed down to the polished floor.
"I...I remember hiding in a b-building...when Connor found me." You responded quietly and noticed the smile, originally on her face, fade away. Yet...she didn't seem sad, just...neutral. She let out a humming noise before turning around to the sink nearby. She dampened a paper towel as she spoke.
"Do you remember your name? Anything?" She asked, bending down to wipe the towel on the bloodstains on your face and arms. Some parts stung as she did so. It took you a while to respond, but eventually Connor spoke for you.
"She said she could not recall her name when I found her." Katie swiftly tossed away the now damp and bloody paper towel. The next half an hour or so was lost to your small memory, due to a wave of sudden nausea. But you do remember her asking you for symptoms of a thing called a 'concussion'. You said your ears were ringing for a while, you couldn't remember anything, and it hurt when Hank's music played too loud. Katie seemed to come to the conclusion that you had a concussion from whatever impact you had received, along with memory loss. She listed a few types of possible of memory loss may be present, but you didn't remember any of the names. All you knew is that you couldn't remember anything since...whatever happened.
"A concussion can not be treated medically, but with self-care. This can include getting rest, staying away from too many video games, television, or socialization. Close monitoring by a close friend or family member is also recommended. Rehabilitation is a big step in recovering, and for your case, remembering past memories. But it seems you have an Android by your side, so you won't have to visit us too much." Katie explained, with a smile plastered on her perfect face the entirety of the time. You wanted to jump in and say this Android wasn't yours, but Connor stopped you.
"Thank you for your help." Connor spoke and stared into her light green eyes. His LED flashed a bright yellow in sync with Katie's, and his eyes twitched momentarily.
"Confirm your payment, please." Katie asked.
"Payment confirmed." Connor responded, while his LED returned to its normal cyan blue. He held a hand out to you. You took it, and he helped you up.
"Do you feel nauseous? Should I help you with your balance?" He offered, before walking out of the room with you. You nodded absentmindedly. He continued holding your hand with his right as he walked through the maze again. You and Connor once again found yourself at the entrance to the hospital, then outside in the darkness of the parking lot. You gazed out into the pitch-black sky with white dots painted about.
"Took you guys damn-near long enough." The both of you turned to see Hank sitting on a bench nearby.

Long chapter just for you guys. Because you're awesome. Also, just so you know, I'm pretty sure I'm even more excited to publish these chapters than you are to read them!
Until next time!
