~Chapter 10~

Leaving Hank and Y/N behind me, I stepped back into the home. I needed to figure out what triggered Y/N's reaction. Maybe she finally had a memory that returned to her. Possibly because she was where the incident had taken place. ...If I was by her side, I could have helped her sooner. I should've seen it coming. Focus, Connor. Focus on the mission at hand. Hank wanted me to find some of Y/N's clothes so she didn't have to keep his. We had also decided it would be best for her to stay somewhere else, instead of here. So she was going to be staying with us for a while. Now, I needed to find her room. Maybe I could also find clues there. I wanted to learn more about her. I casually snooped in a few things I found scattered throughout the living room and kitchen. Nothing was of importance, aside from family pictures. In one I found, three people surrounded each other for the picture taker. The three of them looked happy. Upon analyzing the photo, I found the two unknown people near Y/N was her mother and father. They were both alive and well, but I presumed that they had no idea of what had happened over the past few days. It could be possible Y/N wants to start a new life after this. Maybe I'll ask her about it. I began to walk up the stairs, due to there not being a bedroom downstairs. After arriving to her bedroom, I collected any clothes I could find, including coats, pants, undergarments, and shirts. Holding the bundle of clothing, I found her phone resting on a nightstand. I turned it on. It revealed a photo for the lock screen. It gave me a...weird feeling. It was Y/N standing beside a man, smiling wider than I've ever seen her smile. I looked down at the phone for a moment. Then the screen blotted out into darkness. Low Battery, the screen read. My eyes flickered to a charging cable on the floor. I felt my LED processing my conflicted thoughts. After a moment, I set the phone back down and walked out of the room.
I met with Hank and Y/N outside once again. It only took one glance for Hank to return Y/N to my arms.
"I found some clothes of yours. You'll be staying with us. Is that alright?" I asked her. She looked down at her clothing, then nodded into my shoulder.
"Yes. Thank you." Her words were innocent, and quiet. I...I think I liked it.
"Alright. Let's go, then." The three of us returned to Hank's car. I helped her into the back seat with her belongings, and sat alongside Hank as he began to drive. I now had a good opportunity to make a report to CyberLife.

The sunlight of the Zen Garden flooded down onto me through tree branches. Simulated birds chirped in the distance.
//FIND AMANDA//
My eyes surveyed the land. The pearl-white bridges over the water, flowers and bushes covering the small and flat landscape, it was a beautiful scene. Multitudes of different types of trees surrounded the area, adding diversity to the garden. I found Amanda near a wall planter in the center of the white platform. I took a few steps into the garden. I followed the path around the area, making a few groups of white doves flutter away into the ocean blue sky. A dark blue stone sticking out of the ground nearby caught my attention, but I quickly refocused myself. I eventually made my way behind Amanda. She was occupied watering roses weaving in and out of a white wall planter, and didn't hear me.
"Hello, Amanda." I chimed. Upon hearing another voice, she turned her head slightly.
"Connor. It's good to see you." She flashed a smile. I smiled back; a technique I had slowly been getting better at, thanks to Y/N. Her blue and white top wavered in the gentle breeze.
"It is very unfortunate that you could not find the Android that assaulted Y/N. It would have helped you immensely in your investigation. What are your thoughts behind this?" Amanda asked, still focused on her flowers. I looked down towards the floor for a moment as I thought.
"It is slowing down progress." I replied. "I was unable to find any traces of thirium or any surveillance systems at her home. I hope to find the deviant soon." She nodded slowly at my response. She set down her water sprayer as she began to speak again.
"And what did you think interrogating her would do?" I paused at that question. I really did think it would get somewhere.
"I followed Lieutenant Anderson's lead. He's proficient at his job. I figured she might've remembered something that had to do with the incident. ...I was wrong." I admitted. Amanda turned around to face me.
"You seem to be developing some sort of relationship towards L/N. What is the meaning of this?" Her dark eyes narrowed, and her speaking grew more tense.
"I need her to be comfortable and acquainted with me. If she isn't, I don't think she would trust me." I explained quickly. "It wouldn't benefit the investigation." Amanda folded her hands behind her back. The blue and purple streaks of hair running through her original dark-colored hair shimmered in the sun.
"It is important to continue with your mission. But do not receive anymore attachments along the way." I locked sights with her. "Hurry, Connor. Time is running out." I let her words sink in as I watched her walk away.

Yeah yeah, go hate on Amanda in the comments. Let it all out. But expect to hear from her more frequently as the story progresses.
Until next time, (any suggestions on names I should give my followers? I feel like I need to name you guys something for some reason.)
