I woke up on a bench with trees around me. The sky was still dark. I checked my watch.

7:00 A.M.

School started in an hour.

And I wasn't even at my house.

By the time I found my way home, 30 minutes had passed.

The police cars were gone.

But dad wasn't home.

I grabbed my backpack.

And ran out the door.

That's when I saw my dad. He glared at me.

"Dad, what's wrong?"

"Fought with those Axis'. Police came."

"And?" I said. I knew dad was drunk but I wanted answers.

"I'm going to make them pay."

"Ya, I need to go-"

"I'm going to kill her."

"Who?"

"The girl we took."

"We? Dad, that was you."

"Shut up. Now have you seen her?"

"Dad she left years ago!"

"She didn't just disappear."

"Dad! I don't know anything about where she is now! It's not like I see her ever!"

"You lie to me, you're gonna get hurt real bad."

I took off running. But I didn't want to go to school and see Harmony. Instead, I decided to go to a nearby park and get my mind clear.

As much as I hated Harmony, I was not going to let my dad get his hands on her.

Heck, not that I cared if he hurt her. But if he did, and went to jail for it--

My dad wasn't the best. But I was 15. If he went to jail, I would land myself in foster care.

And that sounded fun, didn't it.
