"Harmony!" A surprisingly pleasant voice said. I whirled around. It was Jerry.

"Oh, um, hey Jerry," I said. I looked down.

"Hey! What are you doing here?"

"Just chilling with—my...my parents." I said. I felt bad about lying to him...but it wasn't exactly a lie, was it?

He didn't even seem a bit suspicious. Instead, he walked up to my foster parents. "Hello, my name is Jerry," he introduced himself.

My foster parents looked pleasantly surprised. "Nice to meet you Jerry," my foster dad said. "We're Harmony's parents. And you are a friend of Harmony's?"

Jerry nodded. I blushed.

My foster mom winked at me. "Well, since your friend is here, why don't you two hang out?"

My dad gave her a look, but she simply shot him a look back that said, "let her enjoy herself."

"Sure!" Jerry said, without waiting for my response. My eyes widened. "Come on, Harmony," he said. 

I still had an uneasy feeling in my stomach, though.

It felt like trouble was lurking in the air.
