Chapter 3
It was almost 8:45. Grey was supposed to be here in a few minutes. I had text him earlier today to make sure we were still on for tonight and he said yes, so he should be here soon. I had just finished re-braiding my long almost platinum blond hair and my simple makeup. I was wearing a dark gray crop top hoodie with some black high waisted shorts that went halfway up my thigh with some white high top convers and a small Nike synch sack with full of a few items that may need later and a grey baseball cap. I sat by the front door waiting for grey to pull up while sliding my finger on my phone to look at my Instagram feed. About five minutes pass and it was 8:43 when grey pulled up.

He had a small dark green beat up truck that fit five people inside. I hopped in the small rusted vehicle.

"Hey!" I said as he pulled the truck into drive.

"Hey, how your day been?" he asked looking over his shoulder at me in the passenger seat.

"It was good. How about you? You're ready for this?" I asked him jokingly

"Yah! Did you bring you swimsuit this time?" he asked me as my face froze, eyes wide and all. I laughed nervously.

"Really Ira! I thought you would be over this by now." He said. I felt ashamed. Ever since I was little I never showed a lot of skin in public. And when I did people would always stair because of all the scars on my body. I mean, they were all over my hands feet and back. And that was not normal so I hid it.

After five minutes or so of staring out the window in an awkward silence, I finally spoke up.
"... I still brought it, just so you know..." he face brightened up a little when I said that.

"I'm proud of you," he said smiling.

"I mean at least you brought a swim suite, that a step forward." I felt proud of myself when he said that because it was true.

The beach sand was soft cold and white under her feet, I could see a little light in the distance that was the bon fire. Many people where there. Most of them I did not know, except Braxton.

"Heyyy!" Braxton said as Grey and I walked up to the giant flame in the sand.

"Hey man" Grey said as they two fist bumped and I awkwardly stood there.

As the two boys talked I looked around to see if I knew anyone. Saw a group of people spread around the fires dancing singing and jumping around. There were a few people sitting on logs talking. One person in particular caught my eye. He was wearing a black sweat shirt, dark jeans (which was weird to wear to a bonfire..) black convers and a black beine that held his black hair in place. He seemed mesmerized at the fire.

"Hello? Earth to Ira... Hello?" I heard Grey say as he looked at me with concern as I snapped out of my trance.

"What? Oh... sorry. I got distracted." I said flustered.

"hmm. Ok... shall we." Grey said and started walking.

Its been about an hour since we arrived at the bonfire. I tried to start conversations with people but was immediately shot down.

Ugh... Why us having a conversation so difficult...

Thats when I noticed my bag on the sandy ground. It was sitting next to Greys bag leaning againts one of the many logs used as seating. I casually walked over to it, picked it up and went to the changing station.

After changing I went out to the edge of the water. It was dark but beautiful and mysterious at the same time. I let the water run over my feet reminding of the sensation I felt in the bathroom the day before. Soon my knees where all the way sumerged in the water. Being careful not to get my loose light pink t-shirt I wore over my swim suit wet.

That's when I felt it. Something was watching me. But the stare wasnt coming from the dark sea waters but from the shore. When I turned around I saw Grey sitting on one of the logs warching me. I just smiled and put my attention back in the water that swished around and through my legs.
