I don't remember how we even reached the hospital.

It is a blur as memories and sentences merge together, flashing through my head one after the other. Like a broken record, it repeats again and again.

Building was strong...

It shouldn't have fallen even if there was an earthquake.

She has been critically injured.

Currently I am sitting on one of the chairs in the waiting room of the hospital as she is being operated. I have my head in my hands, as I stare blankly at the doors.

Soon it burst open as the five boys that have been our friend come in hurrying.

I know I didn't call them, so it must have been Jayden. I look up at him sitting next to me to find him staring at me with worried eyes.

I give him a small smile in thanks before I get up to meet the boys halfway through the waiting room. The moment I reach them, I am engulfed in a huge hug by Keith and Mason. Both had tears in their eyes, so did the rest of them, though for some reason Ryker and Ace look blank.

Lifeless even.

"Are you okay?"

I feel Mason ask me, his voice hoarse in my ear. I shrug in answer, "I am as okay as I can be."

He nods, letting me go as Kevin hugs me too.

"Want something babe?" Jayden whispers silently. I look up at him to see him looking at me in concern. Looking around I see the boys still sitting around in the room, all gloomy before I catch sight of the time in the wall clock.

It's 3 p.m.

It's been hours since we have been here.

I nod, knowing I will have to eat something to survive, even though even the thought of eating makes me want to hurl.

"Just grab me something. Anything will do."

He nods at me, about to go when he looks at the boys too, sighing before he asks Kevin and Mason to follow him.

The two do that without any question, save for telling us to inform them if there is anything we find out.

The moment they leave, Keith instantly fires a Ryker a question, without looking up at him, "What and how did it happen?"

I look at him wanting answers too.

Ryker runs his hand through his hair, looking pained and guilty as he breaths out slowly, "I... I went after her outside and tried to explain myself to her. God, I didn't realize she had... Liked me!"

He gives Ace a fleeting glance as he continues, "I didn't mean to hurt her. She was upset and asked me to leave her alone. I even sent some men after her, they were stationed out of the house. I have no idea how they reached the apartment building."

It dawns upon me who they is.

"Camille too?"

Ace gives me a nod, "She was there too. She is currently in the surgery too, though she will be out sooner. The cops say that she that for some reason she was not as hurt as she should have been for someone that was in the fifth floor."

I nod, letting my head fall on the wall behind.

"She must've taken her there right after college," Keith mutters, cursing under his breath once then continuing, "She said a few days ago that she wants Cami to experience the whole college life."

A ring sounds through the room, everyone looking at Ryker who picks it up. He nods a few times, then cutting the call off once whatever the person on the other side has said.

Pocketing his device, he looks at all of us before speaking, "Prof. Nathanial J. Moore has been arrested. Due to some reasons the reason behind it is kept confidential."

I sigh in relief, running my hand through my hair just as Jayden comes strolling through the doors, his eyes focused on me as they narrow, "Lynnie? Explain."

Looking sheepish, I shrug at him, "Well, maybe I should tell them about it too. They have no idea either."

And then I start from the very beginning, briefing the guys about my instinct and it being right, and then elaborating how I went to the Sheriff last night. Jayden is not pleased at the slightest that I didn't give him a heads up for if things went south. The guys just cursed themselves a few times, not believing they didn't catch up before.

Keith and Mason then pass all of us the coffee and sandwich they had bought, all of us sitting in silence and eating.

Jayden sat next to me, though doing his best to ignore me, which doesn't really work considering I am making him eat as well, force feeding him almost.

A few more hours later, we all get the news that Cami is successfully out of surgery and will be transferred to a private room in the West wing of the hospital.

Being the daughter of Kane as well as being a rich kid helps her again as she gets treated with care and delicacy.

Soon after we all go see her once, though her being unconscious made it a silent visit.

It was late evening when the light above Abby's operating room switched off, indicating that the surgery is over. We all stood up, ready for any sort of news. My heart beat was louder than any other sound that is being made in the room.

It takes another few minutes for the doctors to get out, the minutes feeling like decades.

"Miss Abigial?"

Looking at all of us, he raises a questioning brow before clearing his throat. He looks at his clipboard, and starts speaking.

"She has a few broken ribs and a fractured femur. It will take about six months for her to use her leg properly, and the ribs may take her a while longer. Now for the bad news," He pauses and looks at all of us in slight concern, "She had some internal bleeding in her head, which had clotted resulting in major swells. We have operated her in few sessions, but she will stay in comatose state till she is totally healed."

I feel tears well up as I process everything the doctor has just said.

She must be in so much pain when this all would have happened. Not to mention this all is because of me.

My knees give out as I cry, feeling hands wrap around me. I look up at Jayden, trying to speak but no words come out.

"It's okay Love, It's okay. She will be okay. Give her a rest and soon she will be back with you again."

I nod at him, struggling still but his words help a lot, giving me hope as much as there can be.

"She is a lucky one. I didn't expect her to come out with this, but she survived. And she will kiddo."

The doctor gives us a small smile, nodding at Jayden before he leaves. We all sit in silence letting all the build up emotions run. I hardly notice the boys, being too busy crying in Jayden's neck as he keeps me on his lap sideways, right in the middle of the waiting room.

He keeps his hold on me tight, saying nothing at all just letting me cry.

Once I am calm a little, I pull back, looking at him through my wet lashes. "Jayden?"

My voice comes out hoarse and croaky.

I wince a little, clearing throat. He gives me a small smile in response.

"I... Do you love me?"

"Obviously I do."

I hesitate a little before asking further, "Enough to leave the gang?"

He leans down to peck me quickly on my lips before answering, "Yes."

"Even now that? We are still tentative with each outer."

"Love, we may be taking things slow because of the gap and changes. But that doesn't mean that my love for you has decreased even the slightest. And if it comes to leaving you or the gang, I will always choose to stay with you. No matter what."

I nod at him, leaning forward to rest my head back on his shoulder as I face the direction the boys are sitting.

Mason has his arms around Keith's shoulder, the latter's head resting on the former's shoulder. Keith seems of be talking to someone on his phone while the other two sit sullenly, a little further than the three.

I know there must have been something that only the two know.

Not wishing to take another thing yet, I decide to close my eyes.

I have lost friends from the beginning since I was linked with the gang, and I am tired now. I can't lose anyone else. I am crumbling on the inside, the guilt, the pain and the sorrow making it harder for me to think about a future.

But I know I have Jayden with me to support me, Chris and the boys to keep me afloat.

And I am thankful for them.

Abby, she will join us soon. All I have to do is keep faith.

The book is finally completed, a very close call as it is 12:44 p.m.  and the Wattpad Indian Awards form closes by 2 p.m. today.
