Chapter 8:Confessions...

Tera wakes up to find her sister drooling all over her pillows. She giggles and can't remember how long since they have done anything like this. Tera used to always hop into Stormy's bed when they were younger and in the middle of a thunderstorm. The girls' used to be so close when they were little until they started growing up and liking different things. Tera slides out of bed and hops in her shower.

She thinks: I have to talk to Michael, wait Mr. Harvard this morning and tell him that I can no longer work for him after what happened yesterday.

Tera quickly washes her hair and cleans her face of the emotional ice cream stains from last nights binge eat.

Stormy hears the shower running and rolls over to find Tera out of bed.

"You feeling better this morning Tera?" Asks Stormy as she slides out of her sister's bed.

Tera rinses out her hair, "Feeling heaps better. You working this morning?"

Stormy walks into her sister's bathroom and sits down on her closed toilet lid.

"Nope, I have today off. But I am going to go in and see my boss today. To invite to the party."

Tera smirks, "Are you sure Toby will like it if your boss comes?"

Stormy snickers, "He wont care and who said my boss was coming for me. I could be trying to set him up with Bailey."

Stormy thinks: I don't want to set up Connor with Bailey. I want him all to myself. But I also want to be with Toby as well. Why do guys have to be so irresistible?

Tera turns the tap off and evaporates all the steam with her power. She hops out of the shower and turns to her sister, "Bailey, would love to be set up." Stormy rolls her eyes and leaves her sister's bathroom.

"You working this morning Tera?" Asks Stormy as she leaves her room.

Tera wraps her towel around her wet body, "Yeah I do but I'm quitting."

Stormy halts, "Quitting? Why?"

Tera can't tell her sister that she nearly slept with her boss; so she lies, "I don't think I'm cut out to be an assistant." Stormy can tell when her sister is lying but Tera will always come out with the truth eventually.

"Oh alright, maybe you could find something else you would like to do."

Tera looks at her sister and gives her a smile as she tries to usher her out of the room. Stormy takes her sister's hint as she picks up the melted ice cream tub from beside Tera's bed.

Tera quickly changes into a nice coral blue blouse and a grey skirt; she puts her long red curly hair into a neat little bun. Tera stares at herself in the mirror and sees her mother's eyes looking back at her. She smiles and picks up her bag ready for her last day of work as Mr. Harvard's assistant.

Tera walks downstairs to find that Bailey had made what looks to be pancakes from scratched for breakfast. She takes a seat at the island bench, "You made us breakfast Bails?"

"Thought you would need it after what ever happened to you last night," says Bailey as she places a plate of pancakes in front of Tera.

Tera smiles and starts to eat the pancakes. She takes a few bites and wants to spit it straight out. But being the good friend she is, she stomachs it, "These are really good."

Bailey smiles and goes back to washing up the dishes. Tera pushes her plate towards Bailey and says, "I better leave for work. Need to talk to my boss first thing." She grabs her car keys out of her bag and heads off out of the apartment.

She hops into the elevator and crosses her fingers in the hope that the elevator doesn't stop on the way down to the underground car park. She reaches the car park with no stops on the way, she races to her car and as she gets into her car.

She receives a message on her phone from Mr. Harvard saying: Won't be in this morning until after 10. Can you just clean my office and filing all the documents from last night? Looking forward to seeing you later today. Lunch today to talk?

Tera chucks her phone on to the passenger seat and starts up her car.

She rehearses her quitting the speech the whole drive to the office. As soon as she gets to the office she ignores Oscar and goes straight to Mr. Harvard's office. She begins cleaning up the mess from last night and notices one of her earrings on the seat.

She tugs at her ear and realises that one of them is missing. She quickly puts the earring back in and starts to chuck the Chinese boxes into the rubbish bin. The documents that were on Mr. Harvard's desk were now all on the floor near his desk.

She runs out of his office to the cleaners closet down the main hallway to the mailroom. She tries to duck in and out of the closest without Oscar noticing. Luckily she was successful and was able to get back to his office without being noticing.

I don't know what I would say to Oscar right now if I saw him. He will know that something is wrong because I didn't call him last night but then again he could think that everything is okay, thinks Tera as she tries to clean up the mess with the dustpan.

She sweeps up as much as she can, as she wants to be out of his office before he arrives in an hour. Tera is not ready to see him just yet.

Tera looks at the big clock on his back wall and realises that she only has fifteen minutes to file all the documents. She drops the sweeped up mess into the rubbish bin and places the dustpan beside the door.

She picks up as many documents her arms could hold and starts to sort them out by the name on the tab of the document. Tera figured it would be best to file them in alphabetical order.

She rushes her filing and hopes that she is not putting them in the wrong order. Mr. Harvard did just say to file them; he didn't give her a direct way of how he wants them filed. As she bends down to pick up the last few documents, she hears the office door open and someone say, "Perfect thing to see in the morning, is you bent over. Would prefer if it was me bending you over my desk." Tera quickly gets up and turns to face him.

"Oh good morning Mr. Harvard, I was planning on having all done in here before you arrived back," as she goes to file the last documents.

Mr. Harvard places his briefcase on his desk, "That's okay. Can I apologise for the comment I just made and for kissing you last night?"

Tera closes the filing cabinet and faces him.

"I should not have come on to you like that and should not be making them type of comments towards you," apologises Mr. Harvard.

"You don't need to apologise sir, I should be the one apologising."

"Why should you be the one to apologise?" Queries Mr. Harvard as he takes a seat at his desk.

"I should apologise as I should have stopped you when you first kissed me. I shouldn't have kissed you back. I should have left before it even had a chance of starting. I think it will be for the best if I resign as your assistant."

Mr. Harvard sits up, "I don't think you need to quit Tera."

"I need to quit. I wasn't ready for a job not after everything that has happened," as she twiddles with her fingers.

Mr. Harvard looks at her, "What do you mean you weren't ready? What has happened to you?"

Tera looks down at her hands, "I'm scarred."

"Scarred? How? Physically?" Queries Mr. Harvard.

"No not physically."

"Then what?" Questions Mr. Harvard.

"I'm emotionally scarred," she blurts.

"How? What happened to you darling?" Asks Mr. Harvard.

Tera turns to face the door and rambles, "My parents died on my 18th birthday. My twin and I lost them. They didn't even get to be at our party. They died on their way to the party. I didn't even get to say a proper goodbye to them."

Mr. Harvard gets up and goes to hug her. She backs away, "It just hurts. I feel empty. I feel like I have lost a part of me. My sister doesn't seem to care that they are gone. I'm the only one who cares. I miss them so much."

"You poor darling. I'm sure your sister cares. She is probably just acting brave for you," as he hugs her.

She lets him wrap his arms around her, "I just want them back."

He pats her head, "I know you do darling. You can't quit your job. Give it a months trial and see how you go."

Tera nods her head and lets him comfort her.

While Mr. Harvard is comforting Tera, Stormy is cleaning the apartment while listening to music. Stormy is home alone as Bailey has decided to go and look for either a casual or part time job.

Stormy wants to make sure that the apartment is a little bit clean before the party. As she knows it is just going to get wrecked at the party and Tera and her will have to spend all day Sunday hung-over cleaning.

Stormy cranks her music louder as she dances around the dining room sweeping the floors. She doesn't hear the knock at the apartment door or when the door opens and Toby walks in. Toby walks in and smiles as he watches Stormy dancing around in her purple bandeau bikinis.

"Having fun?" tantalizes Toby as he leans against the island bench in the open-planned kitchen. Stormy turns and stops as she looks at Toby as his bicep tenses as he leans against the island bench.

"What are you doing here?" as she drops the broom.

"I knocked and no one answered. The door was open so I came right in," as he looks her up and down.

Stormy walks over to the lounge and grabs the towel from the back of the lounge. She wraps it around herself, "That doesn't mean you can walk inside. What if I had company? And was doing something with them?"

"Well it doesn't look like you have company. Look I only came over to see how you were after last night. No need to be a bitch about it. It's just you ran out before I could ask what happened," says Toby as he walks toward her.

Stormy sits down on her lounge and questions, "You think I was being a bitch?"

"Your attitude is what makes you come across as a bitch," mocks Toby.

"Oh really? Can I ask a question?" as she looks up at him.

Toby takes a seat on the chocolate colour lounge, "Go ahead."

"Did you grow up around females at all? Because that is not the way to tell a female that she is being a bitch. You are lucky that I didn't slap you," bickers Stormy as she glares at him.

"Jeez, why are you such a bitch?" Teases Toby.

Stormy hits him in the arm, "I was born this way."

Toby flinches, "I can see that you were born that way. Now are you going to tell me what happened last night?"

"No."

"Why not? Why are you so closed off?" as he moves closer to her on the lounge.

Stormy ignores Toby as she shifts back on the lounge. He stares at her and wonders what has happened to her.

"Stormy, what has happened to?" Inquires Toby.

Stormy stares into space and utters, "Every moment without them, is a time lost."

"Without who?" Queries Toby as he places his hand on her lap.

She takes his hand off her lap, "What?"

"You just said every moment without them, is a time lost. Whom are you talking about?"

"My parents," as she gazes into his emerald green eyes.

"What happened to your parents?"

"They died in a car accident three months ago on mine and Tera's 18th birthday," reveals Stormy.

"Oh Stormy, I'm sorry to hear that. That has had to have emotionally scarred you. But what does that have to do with what happened last night in my apartment?" Probes Toby as he places his hand back on her lap.

"I can't tell you what happened last night. You will think I am crazy."

"Already think you are crazy," taunts Toby as he gazes into her unusual purple eyes.

She begins to well up and he quickly retorts, "I was kidding. Don't cry. I promise I won't think you are crazy if you tell me."

"I started a fire last night by blowing on the boiling pot. And when I attempted to put the fire out. Obviously It didn't work," exposes Stormy.

"How did you start a fire?"

"I don't know how to say this so I'm just going to say it. I am a witch," divulges Stormy as she examines his face. Toby leaps from the lounge and stares at her wide eyed, as he comprehends what she just revealed.

"There is no such thing as witches," yells Toby.

Stormy stands up, "There is and I will show you that I am telling you the absolute truth."

Toby watches as Stormy walks over to unused dining table.

Stormy sets up a few pieces of paper on the table and chants "The flames that burn and cleanse us. The power of the fire."

Toby watches as Stormy makes a fire ball in her hands and guide it on to the paper on the table.

He faints and his head on the black wooden coffee. Stormy wipes her hand over the fire, puts it out and rushes over to Toby.

"Toby are you okay?" Yells Stormy as she gets on her knees.

"Toby, wake up," yells Stormy as she hits him on his right cheek. Toby stirs and opens his eyes.

"Don't touch me," scrambles Toby away from her. She frowns and looks away from him.

"I'm so sorry Toby. I didn't mean for this to happen. I will get you some ice for your forehead," blurts Stormy as she gets up from the ground. She hurries to the kitchen, grabs the frozen peas and rushes back to Toby.

"Here put this on your forehead," she says as she hands him the frozen peas packet.

He takes it from her and places it on his forehead. "Ouch that's cold. Thank you though. Sorry for fainting. I do believe you now." Stormy smiles at him and takes a seat on the ground next to him.

"You shouldn't have to apologize for fainting. I should be the one apologizing for making you faint. Thank you for believing me. You are the only guy I have ever told about me being witch," as she puts her hand on his shoulder.

"Does that mean that Tera is a witch as well?" Asks Toby as he faces her.

"Yes, she is. So were our parents. Bailey is the only other person to know, well except for now. You can't tell anyone," she begs.

"I won't tell anyone. Not even Seth. Damn Seth is going to freak out when he finds out though. Probably not as lame as I did," laughs Toby as he takes away the frozen peas. Stormy looks at him and kisses the lump forming on his forehead.

"Hopefully that will make it better," smiles Stormy.

"Aw, you kissed my boo boo. That was super cute, just like you. Oh man that was so cheesy," laughs Toby. Stormy laughs and smiles at him.

"I like your cheesiness," giggles Stormy.

Toby winks, "Really?"

Stormy blushes and tries to look away. Toby grabs her face lightly and turns it back towards his. He leans over and kisses her.

"Maybe we can redo that date right now?" Asks Toby.

Stormy smirks, "I would love too but I have to get this place clean for the party tomorrow night."

"How about I help you?" Asks Toby.

"That would be really nice of you Toby."

Toby smiles at her and kisses her again. Stormy grabs his face and kisses him back, she giggles at she pulls away from him.

Stormy hops, "No more kissing. Can you sweep the deck and move the chairs away from the pool?"

Toby nods and hands her back the peas. Stormy smiles as she watches him walk out to the deck.

What a turn of events, I can't believe I just told him the full truth. He kissed me and I liked it. I think I like him, like really like him. This could be the start of a new side of me. A side of me dating someone that makes me feel things, thinks Stormy as she puts the peas back in the freezer.
