22. Perfectly In Love!

Flashback:

Scarlett stared at the flow as her mind engulfed with the only feeling of missing her man. She always landed herself there by the stream, every time she missed him. It was their personal hideaway. The ambience around the stream gave them a feeling of connection. They felt attached there.

The days seemed to be passing carrying the speed that of a tortoise's. It has already been one and a half years since Dylan left their mansion for his training. Surely, he stayed in the same country, but it turned out quite hard for them to meet often. In those harsh eighteen months, they have met only twice, which was too less and it has been ten months already since they have last seen each other.

Scarlett closed her eyes, knowingly letting her ears fill with his voice. She recalled his expressions and statements. She could sense him teasing her and passing his conceited, gallant remarks that would without doubt make her smile and aggressive at the same time. They also made her redden. Suddenly, the urge to be in his warm embrace conquered her existence. She desperately wanted him beside her to feel his breath and to feel the touch of his lips against hers. She missed him.

"I knew you would be here, Angel." Scarlett jerked her eyes open as her heart started beating rapidly. It was the same voice, which she had been craving for a long time and a little bit more lately. The confirmation was not needed, as she was one hundred percent sure that it was no one else but Dylan, her reason to live these days. She could distinguish the voice even when she is suppressed.

Eventually, she turned, only to find her man grinning at her widely, carrying a victorious smirk at the same time, as he succeeded in his surreptitious plan, to surprise his ladylove. Right away, with a swift motion, Scarlett advanced her steps, progressively at first a few seconds, but soon sprinted his way. She stopped only to cuddle him as she jumped upon him, making him wrap his arms around her, securing her waist protectively.

"You're really here," she gasped looking back at him as she traced his cheeks tenderly, fearing he might disappear. The action only made him chuckle as he kissed her lips briefly making it easier for her to deem the truth.

"What do you think, baby?" He asked as her face expressed her crinkly smile.

"I missed you so much." She articulated again hugging him as she dropped a light kiss on his neck, where her lips reached while she squeezed him.

"You have no idea, darling." He grinned backing away and dropping her on the floor making her stand onto her feet, but only to lock her more closely. The next instant, before she could convey about her feelings, his lips already found hers as he kissed her persuasively. Her hands traveled around his neck, slightly pulling him down. It was slow and tender, but the amount of urgency was too high and they shared a kiss fully filled with passion.

"You are back." Scarlett whispered as she traced his light stubble and looking at him with her eyes full of admiration for him.

"I'm happy to see you." He whispered back, holding her hand which rested on his cheek. He could not restrain himself from staring at her.

Each time he laid his eyes on her, she only turned irresistible. Not liking the idea to hold back the urge, he instantly slipped his hand at the small of her back as he drew her more intimately. Again, for the second time, he kissed her fervently and avidly, leaving her thunderstruck and breathless.

He could not stay away anymore. All he wanted was to be with her no matter what. He was working too hard, traveling to various places according to his job. They have only met a couple times within this time while they were apart, but now he did not want to continue away from her, not anymore.

He completely had a plan about all this, he knew what would take in exchange for the decision he took. However, it was all worth it. At that point, it was significant for him to prove himself as a responsible man, for his woman. Hence, he chose to depart from Arthur, his mentor and father, and worked for his friend's father. He did not want anyone to carry an opinion, thinking that he had been living smoothly getting a grip on his foster father's firm. He wanted to establish himself first before settling down with Scarlett.

It was certainly hard for both of them, not having each other's sides.

Dylan's eyes showed the longings for her and witnessing that, she could not help but smile brighter. She traced his cheek as she kissed lovingly and adoringly. They stared at each other, not able to break eye contact between them.

They indeed were very glad. Only if they knew that, this delight was only for a short period.

They were unaware of the reality that there were still few people outside, conspiring to break them apart. They had their own profits.

"Dad has a party planned," Scarlett exclaimed cheerfully as she landed herself inside his room, "He is throwing this grand celebration to announce about us and..." she stopped mid way giving him an excited look. Her eyes showed the glint of hidden smile, only to leave a perplexed and suspicious Dylan stare at her incessantly, waiting for her to complete her sentence.

"And what?" He questioned right back, when the latter just gave him a half-crooked smile, which only added curiosity to his expressions.

"And...uh..," Scarlett on the other hand, decided to tease him as she got away from his hold, this left him perplexed as he held her arm preventing her from backing away, "That's a surprise." She exclaimed as she gave him a smirk.

He gave her a look that deciphered dissatisfaction, "That's not fair." He protested as she giggled.

"It is. Now let us go. I have to select an outfit for the evening." She replied, dragging him to her car.

"Are you really not telling me, sweetheart?" He asked to which she shook her head, her eyes dancing in tease. Finally giving up, he accompanied her to wherever she took him along with her.

"You didn't reveal it to him yet, did you?" Arthur queried his daughter, Scarlett, fearing if she already broke the surprise to Dylan or not.

"Of course not, Dad," the latter rolled her eyes heavenward making him chuckle.

"Good," he ruffled her hair only to get an annoyed glare from her.

"When will you stop doing this to me?" Scarlett whined fixing her hair as she passed him a complaining stare.

"What are you talking about, sweetheart?" Arthur gave him a look containing incredulity, "You always loved it." He protested.

"That was long back, Dad. I'm a grown up woman now." She retaliated only to gain a chuckle from her father.

"Not for me, dear. You will always be my little squirt." He ruffled it all over again, making her give him a fond glare.

"Go get yourself ready, I don't want you to arrive late at the party." He remarked, giving her a smile.

Soon the mansion was decorated beautifully for the event.

Scarlett glanced at her reflection in the mirror and looked quite satisfied staring at herself. She looked striking in the black off shoulder gown. With a final touch up, she sprinted out, to meet her boyfriend at the door beside her.

Knocking at Dylan's door, she walked in after knowing that it was not locked. His back was facing her as she stepped inside calmly. Sneakily, curling her arms from his behind, she inhaled him as a beam automatically crept at the corner of her lips.

Dylan smiled as he welcomed her touch. Standing with her toes, she whispered in his ear sensuously, "You look hot." She teased him further by dropping a lingering kiss on his jaw as he turned to have a clear look at his girlfriend.

She smirked and swiftly, he drew her closer against him and with a swift motion, he brought her face closer to him, crashing his lips on her protectively and his hands were too persuasive either, skimming sensuously at her sides and all over her back, leaving her wanting more from him.

Scarlett found herself completely melted under his touch and kisses. She missed being kissed by him. Pulling away, she heard him whispering in her ear huskily, making her feel those tingly sensations all over again, "You look amazingly beautiful and I can't wait to take off this dress later tonight." The audacious statement only worsened her condition as he noticed her taking a sharp breath. Studying her expressions only gave him a reason to smirk.

However, getting back to senses, she managed to say, "Let's go, People are waiting to have a single look at me." She teased again.

"You're really being such a rag today, sweetheart." He warned to which Scarlett shrugged, "So are you, honey."

Soon, they made a grand couple entry making everyone share their awe glances at them. For Scarlett, everything was like a dream. She loved Dylan even before she knew the meaning of love and admiration. She always pictured this moment in her mind and now it was actually happening. Undoubtedly, this was the best day of her life.

Likewise, Dylan was eager to know his surprise. He was ecstatic too, knowing they were going to be an official couple now. He cannot wait longer to make her his. He was eagerly waiting to spend his upcoming life with Scarlett and their children. Surely, it would be blissful.

"Ladies and gentlemen," Arthur grabbed people's attention as he continued, "I have something to share. My children are engaged." As soon as he completed his announcement, everyone cheered but Dylan and Scarlett looked startled. They knew that he was announcing that they are together, but he did not ask her yet.

Dylan thought of doing it the next day.

Making his way near to his foster parent, Dylan whispered near his ear, "I haven't proposed to her yet."

Arthur was taken aback. Knowing about their eagerness, he thought he had already proposed to her officially. However, he made things right then and after as a thought crossed his mind.

"Do you have the ring?" Arthur inquired. He indeed had a ring. Everything was set as he planned to pop the question the next day.

"Yes," he nodded lightly, but confusion could be palpably seen in his frowning face.

"What are you waiting for, young man, I think this is the most suitable time." he suggested, his lips twisted to a sly grin.

Dylan looked a little surprised but granted anyway. He felt blessed enough to have someone like Arthur in his life. He had a strong influence on his life. Taking out the red velvet box and keeping it carefully in his pocket, he strode downstairs.

He spotted Scarlett engaging with her friends. Dylan found her smile so mesmerizing and captivating. It was hard to believe that he could be capable enough to love someone, and not just someone, but Scarlett and being loved in return gave him the best feeling ever. He was genuinely elated to have her in his life, she was ace. He sprinted towards her as he stood facing her.

The spotlight instantaneously fell upon them, making them the center of attraction as she twisted, only to find Dylan and his frowning self.

"Scarlett," he called out her name softly. He started slowly as the real pressure started. He did rehearse what would be the words but now, everything seems blurry. He tried to reminisce but all in vain. Finally giving up, he decided to let out everything he felt for her.

Dylan held her hands in his and glanced at her eyes only to observe a confused Scarlett. Before she could react, Dylan was already on his knees as she gasped in bewilderment realizing the upcoming and present scenario. Her gaze landed everywhere. He was going to express it in front of those many people. She was freaking out. However, she did succeed in showing herself normal as she waited for her man to carry on with the task.

"You know that I really love you to the moon and back. I can't picture my life without you, Angel," he started as he stared at her in surprise, "You know, I rehearsed a few lines to say but words deceive me as I look into your eyes. So not taking much time, I want to ask that," he paused, taking out the red velvet box and opening it, revealing a beautiful solitaire, "Scarlett, WILL YOU MARRY ME?" He asked, finally making her cry out of happiness.

Scarlett was euphoric. She expected that he would surely propose but not this way, in front of every person in the party.

"Yes." She whispered, nodding her head heartily as she extended her finger, gesturing to him to put the ring on. Her eyes were moist telling about her joyousness as she felt it hard even to speak. She just stared at it.

He placed it and it fitted perfectly on her finger. There is a belief, saying that couples are made in heaven. Indeed. Everything was perfect.

They hugged and everyone cheered and clapped for them. Breaking the hug, she kissed him on her cheek.

"I have another announcement my dear folks," Arthur jumped in taking everyone's attention, "I want to rest now, I would like to give an equal position to my children. Meet my company's CEO's, Dylan and Scarlett." He rejoiced, as Dylan looked startled. Shock and surprise overtook his facial expressions.

On the other side, Scarlett was grinning ear to ear. Obviously, she already knew it. He glanced at her carrying an unbelievable look as she shrugged, smiling broadly.

He was about to join the company but he did not expect that he would be directly appointed as the CEO. This was beyond expectations.

"Scarlett, congratulations girl." The squealing of their friend, Leah, brought him out of his shocked state.

"Leah, you're late," Scarlett expressed her displeasure as she placed her hands on her hips faking anger and intently glaring at her

"Oh shut it and hug me already." She hissed, hugging the daylights out of her. Scarlett chuckled, witnessing her friend's actions.

"Hey, Aaron," Dylan greeted, giving him a brotherly hug.

"Congratulations you both," he wished as they hugged each other.

"I thought you would be posted as one of the employees," Aaron expressed, slightly teasing him, "This CEO thingy is beyond expected." He completed it as he clicked his glass with Dylan's.

"It was a surprise for me either." He smiled at him.

"What are you doing these days?" Dylan enquired to his best friend.

They were friends for life but because of their busy schedules, they hardly contacted each other. The last time he checked, Aaron was working as an important employee in a well known firm of the country.

"I got fired," Aaron replied, his voice expressionless and flat, "Fifteen days ago." He completed it. Dylan frowned hearing about his friend's state.

"What's wrong? I remember you saying about it being the best place to work?" Dylan wanted to know more. It was about his friend after all and he wanted to help him. They were friends for life.

Or so he thought!

He noticed Aaron's expression turning cold. He gulped down everything from his glass as he filled it again. His situation seemed very tense.

"Aaron," he called out as he glanced his way. He was on the way to being completely wasted.

"That bitch," Aaron gritted, his voice turning spiteful as his mind reminded something objectionable and hateful. For an instance, Dylan was left startled, as his eyes showed fierceness.

"What happened?" He inquired again.

"My boss's daughter," his eyes made an anguished expression, "She made her father fire me following my refusal to settle down with her. She thought I loved her. That's so stupid. I swear it was only for a one-time thing but she doesn't get such a basic, plain fact and when I expressed my disagreement clearly, she swore to ruin my existence and provoked her father to ruin my perfect life." He completed as his eyes held animosity for this said woman.

Nevertheless, hearing the reason, Dylan could not help but to feel exasperated. Not because Aaron was fired but because he played with yet another girl's heart. Everything is sexually related for him.

Since the girl was powerful, she could take revenge but he felt offended for all the other girls he played with. The thing that Aaron does is completely disliked and objected to by Dylan. He tried many times to make him realize but Aaron being him, does not want to. He only sees his pleasure and enjoyment. He did not bother about anyone's feelings.

Removing those thoughts away, Dylan shifted his attention to his friend. He ordered another glass, who was utterly drunk now.

Dylan wanted to help him, as he could not see him suffer. He wanted so hard to free him from this situation. However, the question was how?

On the spot, an idea crossed his mind making him smile positively. Noticing that, Aaron gave him a weird look but soon, his tiredness was gone the moment he heard the next words coming out from Dylan.

"I think I could help you in finding a job in Dad's company." Aaron's eyes twinkled in hope.

"You can?" He asked, his dizziness slowly fading away. Dylan nodded, making him smile widely.

Knowing Arthur, Dylan already promised his friend, Aaron, that he would help him in getting a job. He would not mind as they are like a family.

"You are a true friend, Dylan." A high Aaron hugged him. It became hard for him to stop this wide smile.

"No big deal," he shrugged, hugging him back.

"What was wrong?" Scarlett questioned once he found an alone time with him and he explained everything to her.

"Yes. Dad surely wouldn't mind," she paused as she stepped closer to him, "Now that we are partners, he wouldn't mind." She slipped her hand around his neck, drawing him closer.

"You little tease, you need to be tamed." He said drawing her head closer to his face by her nape. Before their moment starts, she turns to her right, resulting in his kiss landing on her cheek.

The look that Dylan carried was worth watching.

"So the bad boy wants my kiss," she teased again. She leaned down her body to kiss his cheek before she could, he claimed her lips urgently, holding her tightly, making her land herself on his lap. He kissed her possessively. His hands running all over her body making her flinch in excitement. She knew it was inescapable now. Not that she wanted to, her skin yearned for his touch. His lips shifted to her jaw line and down all the way to her neck making her stifle the sounds of her pleasure.

And the rest was history.
