29- The reveal

Evan looked out the front window when he heard a knock at the door, Scarlett was already in the pool with Coco, and they weren't expecting anyone else to come over. He was surprised to see that there was a furniture truck in the driveway and answered the door.

"We have a delivery of three cribs." One of the men said to Evan.

"Oh, come on in. I had no clue that she already had ordered them." He said smiling, opening the door wider for them.

They walked back to their truck and pulled out the three boxes and began bringing them in. Evan showed them where to bring the boxes after he was asked where to put them. They began opening the boxes and stopped when Evan asked what they were doing.

"Looks like they are for delivery and set up." The one man says looking at his notes.

"There must be a mistake, you can leave them, I'll put them together. Thank you."

They looked at Evan confused as they looked at the notes again "Are you sure? This is what we do, we deliver and set up."

"I'm sure, there's no need for you to do that. I'm pretty capable of doing it myself." Evan insisted, he was surprised that Scarlett would have ordered them to be set up when they arrived.

Evan showed them the way out, then walked over to the pool, standing at the end of it with his arms crossed. Scarlett noticed him standing there and smiled "Come on in with us!"

He wiggled his finger to her, seeing his expression she swam over to him "What's up?" She asked. Wiping the water away from her eyes.

"Did you happen to order any cribs?"

"Yes, about a month or so ago... why are they finally here?"

"They just delivered them." He says kneeling down, looking at her. She could sense a little unhappiness in his voice and swam closer to the edge, holding herself up on the edge. "Why would you have it set up for them to put them together for us?"

"Are you seriously mad about that? I figured I was doing you a favor."

"They're my kids too, I'd like to do stuff for them too. I told them to leave it, that I'll put them together. I'm a handyman, I can handle it."

She felt bad and looked back at Coco, then to Evan taking a deep breath. "I'm sorry, I just figured with you working all the time that you wouldn't want to do that when you got home. I wasn't taking anything away from you, just thought I was helping is all."

He got down on his knees and leaned forward, cupping the back of her head and gave her a kiss "Next time you do something like that, please ask me first."

"OK."

Evan stood up and went back in the house, he wanted to show her that he could put them together. Scarlett swam over to Coco "What was that all about?"

"The cribs came."

"Oh cool, did you want to check them out?"

"They're not put together, Evan had a fit and told them not to, that he could do it."

Coco giggled "I told you!"

"I just figured I was helping him out, I didn't think he would get upset about it."

"He's your man, and even I had a feeling that he wouldn't like it. Men are funny like that, they like to be the ones showing that they can be handy, and impress their woman... especially when it comes to their own kids."

Evan opened the one box and pulled out the instructions, looking to see what tools that he needed. He went out to the garage and grabbed his tools, and began putting the crib together. Once that was finished he put the other two together. He stood there proud as he looked at them, he then checked each crib making sure that they were sturdy and that there was nothing wrong with them. Last thing he wanted was for the crib to fall apart with the baby inside.

He couldn't wait for them to be born, each day he was growing with excitement, and was counting down the days until they found out what they were having.

She was now in her six month of pregnancy, and the day that they were to find out what the sexes of the babies were.

"I can't even walk anymore, I'm like a hippopotamus." Scarlett complained as he was helping her into his SUV.

"I'm sorry, you're big, but not that big yet." He chuckled.

"I'm big enough, and to say that I have two to three months left yet? I'll be as big as the house. You try carrying them and see how you like it." She snapped, grabbing the door to shut it.

On the way to the doctors office, all he could do was chuckle. He did feel bad, it was hot out and all she did lately was sweat. She looked down at her ankles "Look how swollen my feet and ankles are, this is ridiculous."

"You'll be fine, you don't have that much longer to go."

"Easy for you to say." She snapped.

He helped her into the doctors office and sat her down, he then checked her in and sat down next to her, handing her a magazine to read while they waited to be called back.

He grabbed her hand, smiling and curious. "So what do you think we're having?"

She set the magazine down on her lap, and thought "I think twin girls and one boy."

He laughed "I was kinda hoping that they're all boys, if we had girls I would be an overprotective dad, and would have to lock them up until they are twenty."

"All boys? I'd be a mess." She giggled. "Boys are a handful."

"Girls are dramatic, and with all them hormones going on in the home, I'd have to hide.... but to be honest, I don't care what they are. Just as long as they are healthy, that's all I care about."

"Same here, but a part of me hopes that I'll have at least one girl. I want to be able to dress her up, play dolls with her, and be able to do all the fun girly girl stuff with her. Something I never had when I was little."

He placed his arm around her, feeling bad. "I hear you, well we will find out any minute."

They were called in and headed for the ultrasound room. She was handed a gown to slip on and instructed to lay down on the bed, and that the doctor would be in shortly.

The doctor came in twenty minutes later "Sorry it took so long, I'm sure you have to use the restroom by now." The doctor says shaking their hands.

"Yes, I do."

"OK, let's see what we have here, then you'll be able to use the restroom. I'll try and be quick about it."

"Thank you." She said in relief.

The doctor began doing his exam and started to do the ultrasound, taking a picture of each baby, chuckling at what each baby was doing. "They are all looking healthy, and looks like each one has their personality already."

Evan stood up smiling while looking at the screen "The one smiling, is that a boy or girl?" He asked in excitement.

"The one smiling is a girl, congratulations." Scarlett was happy to hear that she was having a girl, and began shedding tears while the doctor moved onto the next baby.

Evan chuckled at the next baby "Already has its foot in the mouth, great." He chuckled.

"This one here, is a boy, congratulations." The doctor said smiling.

The doctor then laughed at the next baby "Looks like this one here, is a comedian already, must know we have a camera on him, congratulations again, you have another boy here."

"Well I can tell you already, they're like their momma. She's always got her foot in her mouth, she's always sticking her tongue out, and she's always smiling."

"I'll print these out for you." He stood up and looked at Scarlett "You may use the restroom now."

"Oh thank God, I felt like I was about to piss myself." She says, hurrying to get off of the bed. She quickly left the room, while Evan stayed back with the doctor.

The doctor handed the photos to him "All I can say to you two is good luck, you'll need it."

"Thanks, looks like I'll have to stop at the hardware store on my way home and buy some bars for the windows."

The doctor patted Evan's back, chuckling "It's not so bad having a daughter, you'll enjoy having a princess. It's the greatest feeling in the world to have a little girl, and protecting them from the boys is even more fun. She will hate you for it, but appreciate it later in life."

For the next couple weeks Evan worked on the kids bedroom, painting and setting the room up to the way Scarlett envisioned the room to be. He kept her out of the room, wanting to show her what it looked like when he was finished.

He was putting the finishing touches on the walls of kids bedroom when he heard a knock at the door. Putting his things down he went and answered the door. "Tristan, what are you doing here?" He asked, noticing two kids standing behind him.

"I came by to see if we could talk." He looked behind him and had the kids come stand to the side of him "I also figured that it was about time that you got to meet your niece and nephew."

"Sure, come in."

The kids held onto Tristan tight as they walked into the home "You caught me in the middle of finishing the kids room."

"Oh, I'm sorry. Anything that I can help you out with?"

"No, thanks anyways. I was just adding the finishing touches to it, wanting it to be perfect for Scarlett."

Evan walked them into the room and showed him around. "Wow, this is really cool. You did well. I still cannot believe that you're having triplets."

"Neither can I." Evan chuckled, he then walked them out before Scarlett came home and saw the room before he was finished with it. They walked into the living room and began talking.

"This here is Victoria, she's almost three. And this here is Donovin, he's four." Tristan said, pulling them to his lap. "I've had plenty of time to think over the last few months, since the talk with grandpa. "I'm such an ass, I cannot believe I let Trudy run me like I had."

"She's been doing that since you first started dating her, what grade were you in?"

"Since the summer of going into the tenth grade." He says sighing. "Yea we met at that one party, at the time I had no clue how old she was until she started coming over and you recognized her from class."

Evan chuckled "I remember." He said smiling, running a hand through his hair "You wouldn't listen to me then."

"I didn't listen to anyone, I actually haven't listened to anyone until grandpa put his foot down. I then realized how much of a fool I was, blind to everything."

"Yea, well you thought I was blind too. But there's a difference... Scarlett was the good one, Trudy was the evil one. She had you fooled for years. I'm glad to hear that you woke up, or was it because grandpa cut you out of the will."

Tristan sighed "He may have cut me out of the will, I deserved it, nothing I can do about it. All I can do is keep opening my eyes and realize all the things that I have done, as for Trudy it was long overdue." He covered the kids ears and spoke quietly "I actually had divorce papers written up before Donovin came along, when she told me that she was pregnant, I tore them up and figured that she would change after he was born. Then we had Victoria and well.. things still never changed."

"Do you even have balls? Or did they disappear after being with her for so long." Evan asked, standing up with a smirk.

"I know, I deserved that."

"Beer?"

"I better not, I have to drive them back to their moms. She won't allow me to have them overnight."

"Like I asked, do you have balls?"

"You're right, their my kids too. Give me a beer."

Evan chuckled and grabbed a couple bottles of beer out of the fridge, handing Tristan a beer. "You can stay here, we have a couple spare bedrooms downstairs, just don't mind what you see down there."

"Why's that?"

"You'll see later."

Scarlett came home and had Coco with, she knew someone was over after seeing a vehicle in the driveway that she didn't recognize. She heard a couple kids talking and saw Nickelodeon on the TV.

She waddled into the dining room with Coco following behind her, Scarlett was shocked to see Tristan sitting at the table, drinking with Evan, playing quarters.

"Hi honey!" Evan smiled.

"What's going on here?" She asked confused, looking at the two brothers she thought hated each other.

Tristan stood up and walked over to her, giving her a hug "I came by to apologize for everything, and wanted you both to meet your niece and nephew." He looked at Coco and smiled "Wow, who is this pretty lady standing behind you?"

"I'm Taleisha, aka Coco." She said reaching out for his hand to shake "Damn, you're on fire! Are you single?" He asked her.

"I'm as single as they come." Coco replied, smiling. Admiring his cuteness, even though she could tell that he had been drinking. Scarlett walked away, letting the two talk and sat down next to Evan.

"What the heck just happened here?" She asked confused. Evan explained to her about why he was there, why he was still here and then explained that he was waiting for Trudy to show up looking for a fight.

"If she shows up here, don't arrest me."

Scarlett got up and grabbed some pillows and blankets for the kids, she didn't think it would be a good idea for them to be downstairs while Coco was showing Tristan a good time. She figured that it would be perfectly fine if they slept on the couch.

"I guess they hit it off fast." Evan said grinning, while he watched her set up beds for the kids.

"She would be the one to put him in his place if needed."

"To be honest, I'd like to see that. Someone needs to, besides grandpa."

Evan walked up to her, feeling her stomach and giving her big belly kisses. "I'm almost done with their room. I would have been done if he hadn't shown up."

"Oh, can I finally see it?"

"You already know what it looks like." He said grinning, giving her a wink.

"Not that, you hornball." She giggled, playfully smacking his arm. "I want to see the bedroom."

"Hang on, let me go finish it quick."

Evan left to finish the room, Scarlett then walked over to the kids and was going to talk to them, but saw them both sleeping. She covered them up and then heard a knock at the door.

Oh, now who could that be? She whispered with a grin, knowing that it had to be Trudy. She opened the door, blocking her from walking inside.

"I need to talk to Tristan." She demanded.

"He's busy right now, you'll have to wait until tomorrow." She tried shutting the door, but she placed her hand in the way.

"I want my kids, he was suppose to drop them off."

"Oh, yea... about that. You see, they are his kids too and is entitled to have them whenever he wants. If he wants to have them overnight he can, and there's nothing you can do about it." Scarlett said smiling.

"You sow, there's nothing that you can do or say about it. This is between us, not your big ass."

"Right now it is my business, he's here with them, the kids are fine.. sleeping actually, so I suggest that you leave. If you don't like it, get a court order. But just so you know, no courts in their right mind would separate a parent from their kids when they have done nothing wrong and they are perfectly fit to have them. Which unlike you, you're the unfit parent if you ask me."

Evan stood behind listening in, not letting them know that he was standing there. He kept chuckling at the two bickering back and forth. Scarlett is right he thought to himself.

Trudy continued badgering Scarlett, teasing and calling her names, and stopped once she seen a fist come at her, knocking her to the ground. "Goodnight bitch, I warned you.. now leave, you'll see your kids tomorrow."

Hope you enjoyed the chapter!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
