28- Good ole Marvin
Coco had been missing Scarlett, she hadn't heard from her since before they had left for Mo'orea and was curious as to how she was doing. Without even calling, she just stopped by.
Scarlett opened the door and covered her mouth "Oh my God, Coco!" She said loudly giving her a warm hug, she then let her in "I'm so sorry, I've been so busy since I had gotten back from paradise, that I've been forgetting to call you."
"Girl, I've been worried about you. How have you been?"
With a grin on her face, she took her hand and walked her over to the couch, sitting down she held out her hand "Evan proposed."
Coco began to clap and grabbed her hand to look at the ring "Wow! It's beautiful!... I had a feeling he was going to, I called it a while back, remember?"
She laughed, looking at her hand "I know, I guess I never expected it this soon."
"So how was the trip?"
"Beautiful, I didn't want to come back.... how did things go on that yacht with Bambi?"
"Better than expected, she did wonderful. They were disappointed in not seeing you, but they were happy with the outcome."
"How's Malachi?"
"Good, he finally admitted his feelings for you to me, but he's glad that you found happiness. He was worried about you since what happened with Evan in the past, but understands now what happened. He's cool."
"Yea, he mentioned it to Evan as well."
"Being that you're here, I have a question for you..."
Coco sat up straight and smiled, she began getting excited on the inside, having a feeling what she was going to ask "Yes, I will." She blurted out with excitement.
Scarlett laughed "You don't know what I was going to ask you."
"No, but I have a feeling... and my answer is yes, I'll be your maid of honor." She grinned.
"It was that obvious?" She giggled.
Scarlett filled her in on grandpa and what he did for her, explaining that he was going to be there later to visit and stay for the weekend. Coco then helped her finish cleaning the house and making sure the room for him would be perfect. Once everything was finished they both went out shopping. She bought some new maternity wear and then they went window shopping for dresses, trying to get ideas.
Scarlett also made some purchases of cribs and decided to have them delivered and set up for her so she didn't have to worry about doing it herself.
"Wouldn't Evan be upset that he's not putting them together?" Coco asked as they walked out of the store.
"I doubt it, he can always double check their work when they are done. With him working all the time, I just figure it would be easier, that way when he comes home he can just relax."
"That's true, plus he has a room to help you put together, have you decided on a theme yet?"
"No, once I find out what we're having then I will... come on, I'm starving let's go get some lunch."

Later in the evening, Evan finally came home with Marvin and showed him around their new home and showed him where he will be sleeping the next few days. "What's downstairs?" Marvin asked curiously, pointing with his cane to the stairway.
"Oh." Evan said running his hands through his hair, nervously. "That's Scarlett's area."
"I'd like to see it." He said smiling, and began heading down the steps. Evan followed behind, wondering what he was going to say.
Marvin got to the bottom steps, and saw the pole. He walked over to it, tapping his cane against it "What's this for?" He asked looking up and down, then over to Evan with a grin.
"Well... It's a pole."
"I know what it is, but why do you have one down here?" He asked, he could tell Evan was embarrassed and wanted to embarrass him more with it. "I'll bet she works it good for you." He winked.
"In more ways than one." He muttered under his breath.
"I heard that." Marvin chuckled. "She actually told me what she was doing for a living when we talked the other day, how exciting that is!" Marvin said with excitement in his voice, he then grinned an evil grin as he stared at the pole "I wish I had put a pole in my house when granny was alive, I would have been in heaven, or I could have been having a heart attack every night." He chuckled.
"Gramps!" Evan said embarrassed.
Marvin then held onto the pole and started goofing off, giving Evan a laugh. "I suggest you stick to your toothpick artwork, grandpa."
Scarlett came home and heard laughing downstairs and walked down the steps to see what was going on. "Grandpa!" She was excited to see him, and embarrassed to see him playing around with the pole.
"Just checking out your toy here." Marvin said with a wink. "I was just telling Evan, I wished I had one in my house when granny was as alive." He looked at Evan and chuckled, raising an eyebrow "What would you say if I asked her to show me some moves? Give me a show." He smiled wide, tightening his teeth together.
"I'd say, not a chance."
"Darn it." He says snapping his fingers.
Evan couldn't help but laugh, he continued showing him the rest of the basement and then they went upstairs. They sat at the dining room table talking and then Scarlett brought out a new game, curious if grandpa would like to play. She set it down on the table and giggled.
"What's this?" Evan asked, pulling the box to him to read it.
"Since grandpa likes playing games, I figured we could try a new game together, it's called Lolz."
Marvin grabbed the box and looked at it chuckling. "Sure, let's try it. It looks like it could be fun, I'm always up for a new game."
They began playing, guessing the phrases. Scarlett couldn't help but laugh when it came to Grandpa's turn. He couldn't talk with the piece in his mouth and laughed the whole time trying to say his phrase.
The next night they all headed over for Evan's parents home, Scarlett was dreading the drive knowing that Tristan and Trudy were going to be there. Evan helped his grandpa out of the car when they arrived and began walking to the door.
They turned around when they heard another car pull up. Evan looked at Scarlett, then to his grandpa. "Looks like the party is about to start." Marvin chuckled.
"Just a warning, I cannot help what will come out of my mouth if they start anything with me." Scarlett said with a sigh.
"Just be yourself." Marvin said as they walked inside.
They all took their shoes off and headed for the living room, announcing that they were there. Julia came out of the kitchen giving Marvin a hug "Nice to see you, hope you're doing well."
"If it weren't for Evan and this beautiful babe of his, I'd probably be six feet under." He joked.
Tristan and Trudy walked inside, and over to where everyone was sitting. "Hello grandfather, it's been a long time." Tristan said, sitting down. Marvin could hear bitterness in his tone of voice and looked up at Trudy.
"Nice to see Kermit and Miss Piggy, again." Marvin mocked, taking his cane and setting it next to him. Trudy gave him a dirty look and huffed at his remark, then walked over to Tristan sitting on his lap.
"That wasn't nice, grandpa." Tristan smarted off.
"I'm an old man, things sorta just slip out."
Scarlett was feeling uncomfortable sitting in the same room as Trudy and stood up, wanting to go find Julia and help her with whatever she needed help with. "Excuse me, I'm going to go help Julia."
"Wow! Did you get fat!" Trudy said with a laugh as Scarlett walked past her.
"I see your face still needs some more rearranging to help you look more beautiful." Scarlett snapped as she walked past her.
"That's usually what happens when you get comfortable with someone, the fridge becomes your best friend." Tristan said, chuckling.
Marvin picked up his cane and reached over whacking Tristan over the head. "Ouch! What the hell was that for?" Tristan whined rubbing the top of his head.
"That's enough, I've heard enough out of the two of you already. If you can't say anything nice, then just leave." Marvin said in anger. He looked at Trudy and aimed his cane at her "You think you're better than her? Think again. When I see you, I think of Nellie Oelson from Little house on the Prairie, spoiled and nothing but a brat. If it weren't for being a part of this family, you would be a nothing, and you would still have that old nose of yours."
He then aimed his cane over at Tristan and whacked him on the head again, furrowing his eyebrows "And you, you should be ashamed of yourself. How dare you pick on someone that you don't even know, you big bully. Teasing that poor girl, and ridiculing her like you have over the years, is horseshit. Have you even tried to get to know her? Maybe you should start taking lessons from your brother, and learn to see the good in people instead of judging a book by its cover. You would be surprised if you actually just shut your mouth for once and opened up your eyes. You'll be able to actually see the good in people."
Evan sat back and listened to his grandpa going off on the two, and covered his mouth not wanting them to see the smile he had going on. He wanted to bust out laughing, but was afraid to see what Marvin would do with his cane to him, so he remained quiet and just listened. Elton stood behind Marvin, listening and sipping on his glass of whiskey. He was happy that Marvin was giving them a piece of his mind, especially since they never listened to Elton when he tried talking with them.
"You have no idea who she is, all she wants and sees is money, she's a money grubber." Tristan said harshly.
"No, no.. think again. The one who is a money grubber is your wife, which is why I do not have the two of you in my will."
"What?!?" Tristan yelled, pushing Trudy off of his lap.
"You see, the ones that I have in my will, are the ones who appreciate me and who dosen't care about money. Which is more than I can say about you, all you two care about is money, waiting for me to pass. Have you even come by to visit me, to see how I have been doing? I cannot remember when the last time was, not even a simple phone call."
"We've been busy."
"For how many years?" Marvin looked at Evan and then back to Tristan "Evan is a busy man, and he at least calls, or visits when he can. He's always making sure that I have what I need, and always making sure that I'm doing OK."
Tristan was growing more upset, and filling up with anger the more he heard Marvin speak. "This is bullshit."
"No, what's bullshit is my grandson acting like a complete nincompoop, maybe grow up some and I'll change my mind, but for now you and Trudy will not be in my will."
Scarlett was helping Julia in the kitchen while listening in on Marvin giving Tristan and Trudy the third degree, giggling at times, wishing she was in the room to see their facial expressions. She finished setting up the table and walked into the living room, sitting down next to Evan.
"By the way... I may be getting fat, but for other reasons" Scarlett began to say to Trudy "It's called pregnancy."
Trudy looked over at Scarlett wanting to say something smart, but kept her mouth shut. She was feeling disgusted that they were being left out of Marvin's will, she stood up and grabbed Tristian's hand "Let's get out of here, obviously we're not wanted here."
"Trudy, shut your damn mouth and sit down." Tristan snapped. "This is all because of you in the first place." He looked over at his grandpa and sighed. "I may be a lot of things, but I do care about you, not your money."
"Well, once you prove to me that you do, and it's not an act.. I may change some things around, that's why I called for you to be here, and to have everyone around as witnesses. I'm not going to be around forever, and all I want to see before I see my wife again is for this family to get along, for you and your brother to finally be brothers the way it should be. I want to see you get along with his bride to be, and to become the best of friends."
"Dinner is done." Julia cut in as she came into the room.
"Give us another minute or so." Marvin said, then looked back at Tristan "So.. what'll it be?"
Tristan knew he was being serious, and was afraid to be cut out of his will. He looked over at Evan and Scarlett and could tell that he was happy with her. He had a feeling that she wasn't that bad of a person, but kept listening to Trudy about her. He didn't know her one bit, just stories that Trudy would tell him about her. He was older than Evan, and here he had been acting like he was a child. He lowered his head, shaking it.
"I have to say I'm sorry." He looked up and over to Evan "I'm sorry, after all these years I guess I was an asshole. Scarlett, I also apologize to you. I have to admit that I never knew you, I just believed in whatever Trudy told me."
Tristan continued with his apologies, Trudy stood up and looked down at Tristan "You're such a weakling. I'm outta here."
Marvin chuckled "Good, don't let the door hit you on your ass, on the way out." He was happy to see her leaving, he never liked her from the beginning and could see that she had been using Tristan all these years. Trudy flipped Marvin the middle finger and stormed out.
"I guess we know now what she really has been about this whole time, don't we." Marvin grinned, knowing he got his way.
"Wow, how could I have been so blind?" Tristan sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"You just finally got to see her true colors, took you long enough." Marvin says standing up "On that note, lets eat... I'm starving."
Hope you enjoyed the chapter!!😁😁🤞🤞❤❤
