5: vixen
"Marina."
"Not a word." I hissed at him curling up in the corner of his beach house. In the middle of my frantic ranting and crying. This miserable bastard managed to fling me over his shoulder and take me back.
But as soon as we arrived at his place, he set me down and I literally dashed off trying to find the only safe place. Just when I was back to his bedroom I noticed a big dresser blocking the broken window. I turned on my heel ready to run out but Garrett was there. Just eyeing me and the room, he wasn't giving me his little playful smirk.
I had moved over to the corner of the room and just hugged my knees. I've been here for almost an hour, my shaking body had somewhat relaxed and now I was in a glaring match with the standing Garrett.
"Ma-" He opened his mouth again but I just shot him a knife stabbing glare
"Don't."
"Then what do you want me to call you?" He sighed in defeat. I shouldn't flatter myself that I one this one simple battle with him.
"I don't want you to call me anything." I said covering my ears not wanting to hear him anymore. Hadn't he done enough? He lured me in under false pretenses and now he wants to play with his hunt like some sort of sick mouse and cat game. I might be a goner but i am not going to give him any type of pleasure.
"No offense but i really don't want to call you hybrid."
"Well why would you," my tone was dismissive but in all due respect I didn't exactly say i was.
"Mari-" I shot him another glare. "Look I'm going to call you Marina whether you like it or not."
"Well I don't like it." I recanted.
"Well tough luck kid."
"You fucked this kid." My voice alone was razor sharp but that didn't seem to phase him.
He moved away from the door and slowly walked up to me. I immediately tense up afraid of what was to come, thinking of any other way. Then i feel the warmth of a hand cup my cheek, i was a bit of a shock when i felt such tender touch. My eyes slowly opened up when i looked at him, his gray eyes.
"Marina, I'm not going to hurt you. You're still alive right?" There was still a hint of smirk in his tone but i didn't say anything at first.
"Now if you will just calm down and go to the kitchen with me, I'll explain why I'm here with you." His tone was a bit reasonable, i was still on my guard but what else could i do. I looked down at the ground just trying to think of an escape strategy if things went down in any other way.
I nodded my head, standing up. Garrett's body seemed to untense when he saw that i agreed. He reached his hand over to my arm and my body for some damn unknown reason didn't entirely object to his touch. He guided me over to the kitchen and propped a chair out for me.
I was very cautious of what was temporarily around me. If it weren't for the fact that he had revealed to me that he was a vampire hunter. I didn't realize how well furnished and styled this beach house was. It was so bright in aura with the whites and creams. I wouldn't really picture Garrett as the classy simple type. He placed a wine glass in front of me and I scoffed.
"Do you really think that i am going to drink any alcoholic beverage in front of you, or any where around you?" My voice was filled with sarcasm.
"It has something that will help you." He rolled his eyes at me again, wow I can't believe i gave it up to him. I looked back at the glass wine and slid it to me, I thought i caught something in the aroma. I sniffed the air smelling, a hint of iron like sweetness. My eyes instantly shifts to their red allure before i could really stop myself, i greedily snatched the glass and drank the entire wine.
It was hard to understand that there was a thirst that had no reason to be there. I placed the glass back down on the table, breathing just a bit heavily. I licked my lips very thoroughly tasting every ounce of wine mixed with blood.
"You really do need to learn how to treat that vampire side of you correctly." Garrett's face was once again unreadable and turned away from me. I grabbed onto the glass thinking about probably smashing it against his skull. But for some reason the muscles in my hands wouldn't move, finally i just set it down. When Garrett turned around and slipped my a decent amount of a sandwich.
My body was literally stunned as i looked at him and the sandwich.
"Are you fattening me up before you slit my throat?"
"You really do see too much action movies." He arched his eyebrow at me again and just took a seat right in front of me. Pushing the sandwich plate to me, his eyes never wandered away from me. I didn't know if it bothered me. The warm feeling in my stomach was tumbling around and i felt a bit flustered.
"I wouldn't be assuming situations if it weren't for the fact that you're stalling." I took the plate and well much to my grumbling stomach, i took a bite.
"The reason why I'm stalling is because I wanted to make sure that you're emotionally stable enough to hear what i have to say." He cleared his throat, shifted around his seat for a moment before he took one long deep breath. He looked up at me one more time and he just placed his hands on the table.
"Your father sent me." He stated. There was one long moment of silence, as the words slowly sunk into my brain.
"What?" I breathed dropping the sandwich on the plate. I didn't know how i was feeling numb and yet so complex.
"Othello Heinz, your father sent me to look after you." His voice had an alarming charm to me, even if his tone wanted to ease me through it. The words held one truth.
My father reached a hunter, but not his daughter.
