Scarlet

My cue came for curtain call and I ran out. The audience cheered loudly as I bowed. I took a step back and Hugh came out for his bow, the audience went crazy.
I like Philadelphia. The crowds are amazing and we get tons of fan mail from people.

We took a bow as a cast. We've done this many times but tonight was my 50th Performance as Christine. I was beaming.

We all took a step back and Hugh stepped forward,the audience went quiet.

"Please this won't take too much longer but tonight is a very special show for one of our wonderful Cast members. Tonight you all got to witness our very own Christine, Scarlet Anderson, Play her 50th Performance as Christine."
The audience cheered once more as Hugh brought me up beside him and I bowed again.
"This woman has been through hours of rehearsals and so many sound checks throughout her run and to get to her 50th Performance in her first National Tour is incredibly amazing."

He hands me a large bouquet of roses and kisses my cheek.
" And can I just say that whatever kind of day Scarlet haves she lets all that go and once she's in character she stays in character throughout the whole show no matter what has happened. And that there is true dedication to a show and a reason of many things why she has gotten to 50 shows.
And I know I am speak for all of us when I say we really love having you as our Christine and you are such a joy to have with us on tour and We love you."

The audience went wild with cheers and applause and I could feel tears running down my cheeks. The curtain call music played as the curtain came down. I felt Jack wrap his arms around me as well as Hugh's. Lily came and scooped Jack up into a hug. I laughed at how our cast was still all on the stage around us instead of being backstage changing. Helen came up and took my flowers from me. Now I was puzzled as to what was going on. I turned to Colin who was grinning, I was still confused. Then Hugh Started singing

"Say you'll share with me
One love, one lifetime
Lead me, save me from my solitude
Say you want me with you here beside you
Anywhere you go, let me go too
Christine that's all I ask of you."

I gasped and slowly tears came down again. He was on one knee and held a black ring box with a Sapphire and Diamond Ring.
"Scarlet, Will you Marry Me?" Hugh asked.
"Yes" was the only response I could manage before I felt the ring on my finger and Hugh's Lips crashing into mine.
We broke apart and the rest of the cast cheered. I saw Lily had recorded the whole thing on her phone.

Jack ran up to me and bear hugged me tightly.
"I love you mother" he said into my dress.
By now the cast knew Jack was my son but they didn't know Hugh was his father. All of us were so caught up in the moments when Chase came onstage and told us the cast members of Hamilton were here to see us.
I froze. I would now have to face Jon. Hugh squeezed my hand and I knew that I could do it.
