Scarlet POV

I don't have time to think about boys and heartbreak! I have exam to pass. With determination in mind i walked in the classroom.

"You will have to use your powers, and knowledge to pass this test. " Mr. Adrian spoke.

Olivia and i passed a nerve look to each other.

"You will be paired up for this test! Remember team work is the key. If one of you fail then both of you will fail. I will make the teams." i ran cold sweats, not cause of the test but cause of the poor soul who will stuck with me for the test. A novice like me!

Oliver was paired up with Max. I was happy for her.

And i was paired up with William. He was happy to be paid up with me but i was more panicking. I cant take him down with me if i fail. He is the topper and i am the bottom. I will not be a burden on him!

"Lets do our best scar!" He said.

"Yup." I gave a nervous laugh.

Mr. Adrian spoke after making the team," so the task of the test is to go though the forbidden forrest and bring a cup of Silver water." I remember studying about it. The silver water gets its name from its silver charm fairies who are quite wicked, who can make morbin( earth/ soil/ mud warriors)  to protect their lake."Remember you will be tested at every way. So be careful. "He added.

I was already in a nervous stage and this was cheery on top. William held my hand with his gloved hands. "Don't worry Scar. We can do it."

"Lastly when you finish your test, one of these mentor from senior class will help you achieve Reveal stage. " then i see Alex, Ryan, Noah make the way out to us, in their uniforms.

I gave a shy wave at them. Ryan gave a flirty wink at me. I rolled my eyes laughing. Alex mouthed me best of luck. Noah was also looking at me. I gave him a small smile. I cant get involved in boy trouble anymore! I am here to learn. I need to pass the exam so that I don't take William down with me.

"Good luck everyone!" One by one they entered the forrest. At last it was our turn.

We exchanged a brief look and walked ahead. "Stay beside me scar, we don't know what we might have to face." William said.

We walked deep in the forest. It was beginning to get dark. I head something move around the bushes it started me and i held on to William arm.

"Something is there." I pointed at the shrubs.

William put his light on it. And a squirrel jumped out. "Relax it's nothing." I gave a sign of relief. I need to get a hold of my nerves!

We walked in more deep. Finally i was able to hear the sound of water flowing. That must be the lake!

We hurried made our way towards it.

Before our view was the beautiful lake with crystal blue water. But where are the guards? No one was there. It was silence like too easy.

"No guards. Or fairy." William noticed too.

I nodded.

As soon we started to make our way together to the lake a mud humanoid figure come sprinting to us. Shoot!

It surrounded us. William removed his gloves. He touched figure to put it to sleep but it didn't work.

"They are made of magic. There is no life in them thus i cant put them to sleep." He put on his gloves.

"We need to think of something else fast!" I said to him as we stepped back. The fairies were controlling the morbin!

"Scar! Maybe your fire magic can help! I read in class that mud dolls such as Morbin, like these things are easy be eliminated by fire! You can distract them while i collect the water in the flask." I nodded yes and started concentrating on my fire.

The colour of my flames always vary. When i am angry its red. When i am calm its blue. And only when i lose control of myself and i blackout, it becomes black! And I don't wanna lose control! No way!

I put all my concentration remembering what Alex said to be yesterday. I took a deep breath. Relaxed myself & realise my emotions. Understand them, letting it flow though me. I am in control.

A blue flame radiated through me and i put my hand forward putting the flames off them on the morbin. It stop them! But not fully. My blue flame was not powerful as black or red like. I didn't want to lose control and hurt William in process so blue will have to do.

"Hurry!" I threw him the flask. He quickly collected the water. My flame was also dying out slowly.

"I have got it! " he closed the flask! He was making his way towards me but i noticed if i drop my fire guard the morbin will attack him. He was carrying the water. We need to get the water out to our mentors! Or we will fail if we leave empty handed.

"William!" I shouted at him,"go! Get that water to Alex! I am holding them off, they want you not me. You have the water!"

He looked at me in disagreement," no way! I am not leaving you scar!"

My flames were resisting. I don't have much time. "Listen i am not telling you to leave me here! Go! And get to them, we only need to water to get to them and we pass. So go to them! And them bring them here to me! That will help me!!" I was kneeling down with one leg now. My strength was almost out.

He was still hesitant.

I shouted. "WILLIAM GO!!"

He nodded and ran to get help.

I look ahead. More morbins started to come out. I saw the fairies from afar. They are small yet powerful. Their charms are throwing me off.  I shrank down, protecting myself with every last bit of blue flame. I could use my red flame but that would burn the whole area and the fairies. They were  protecting the lake. I remember William telling me in class. The silver lake is protecting because, it scarfing of their elder healing fairy. I don't want to harm them. They are just protecting what is precious to them.

My strength gave out, so did my fire. I was surrounded by morbin now. They were going to hit me with their huge arms so i protected myself covering my head and closed my eyes for impact!

But nothing happened?

Why?

I peeked up and saw a shield above me.

What?! A shield? My first thought was Alex!

I looked around but I couldn't see him.

The shield pushed off the morbins deep into the forest. It was a powerful shield like principal used.

Heard footsteps behind me. I immediately turn around.

I didn't recognise him. His face was covered with a scarf 🧣 or some kind of clothe.

It was a man. Coming towards me.

He glowed of red aura like Alex but there was something different about him. It was both black and red.

His green eye connected mine. He sat down to meet eye level. "I am glad your safe." He said. His blonde hair fell carelessly on his eyes. It was not long but long enough to reach his forehead.

"Who are you?" I whispered.

His cold hands touched my face. He pulled his face near me. With another hand he lowered his mask to show his face. It was handsome!

He smiled at me,"I waited a long time to meet you my dear Scarlet."

I could hear William, Alex, Ryan, Noah shouting my face and coming this way.

"I am sorry i have to go for now..." he stood up making me stand with him.

"Wha?" I didn't understood anything. Who is he? Why did he save me? Moreover how does he know me? All of the questions were running my mind.

He smiled and laid his gorgeous eyes on me,"i will tell you when we meet again..." he leaned in and softly kissed my lips before disappearing right before my eyes.

I couldn't comprehend what happened!

My hands touched my lips. What!! Just!! Happened?!

Alex ran and hugged me. "Thank god your okay! Mornins are not easy to fight off alone!"

"Princess you had me worried!"Ryan hugged me after Alex.

"I am sorry Scar! It took me time get help!" William apologies.

I smiled at him," Don't worry! You did great! I am fine— ."

I couldn't finish the sentence when Noah jumped and hugged me. "I was so worried! Scar! I thought something happened to you."he was shaking. I hugged him back. "Its okay Noah, i am okay. Nothing happened." I calmed him down. I liked being in his embrace. I did missed him.

Ryan looked at me with melancholy eyes. I gave him a small smile.

We made our way back.

"How did you fight the morbins? I heard you only used your blue flame." Alex asked.

"Truthful I didn't fight them. Rather i sucked. " I laughed.

"Then how did you pushed back so many of them without your red flame?" Ryan asked.

"I didn't.... He did." I said uncertain.

"Who? William was with me then how can he—"

"Not him." I said to Noah. "I don't know who was he. I never met him. He was stranger... he saved me from them. A very powerful shield!"

"Impossible!" Alex said," only a handful of people have the power of shield. Not to say two of us are in the academy and others are in the council of Magic in headquarters."

"Moreover no one who is not a student or teacher can enter the Academy grounds scar. Our school is protected by a powerful shield and charm of our Principal. Its not possible for someone to enter without authorisation." Ryan added.

"I don't know guys. He was real!" They looked at me with disbelief.

Seriously! They think i am crazy. "Guys i am serious. He is real. I didn't dream him! I am obviously going to remember the guy who kissed me just now!"

They stopped on their tracks.

"What?!" Ryan practically shouted.

"Kissed?!" Noah looked like he has seen a ghost. Pale.

"Scar did you say ... kissed?" Alex reconfirmed.

"Um yea." I crossed my arms," i mean it was so sudden I couldn't do anything... " they all locked at me , I blushed.

"So a stranger save you from morbins... he seem to know you too... and is very powerful... also kissed you.." William connected the dots.,"seems like someone dangerous."

"Might be... I don't know. He did save me." I shrug.

"We need to put security around the campus and report this to father." Alex walked off.

Me, Noah, William & Ryan started to to our mansion.

"Even though he saved you, Still i cant forgive him for kissing you!" Ryan said punch his hand.

"Same here!" Noah was also agitated. Getting this reaction from him was classic, it made me giggle.

Still my mind wondered remembering those crystal emerald eyes.

I will tell you when we meet again... he said.
