~ next day ~

I woke up in the morning feeling low.

Like all my energy hand been drained.

I looked at the mirror. My eyes are red and nose is leaking and puffy. And my body feels hot.

Is it because of yesterday's incident? Have I caught a cold?

But still, I dragged my body out of bed and got dressed.

I came down for breakfast. "Wow, Princess you look terrible? Your okay?" Ryan asked.

"Yeah... it's just a bit cold." I blow my nose.

Alex got up from the table." Don't spread your germs to me!" I rolled my eyes. I expect nothing less from him.

"I will make you some soup 🍲 " Noah said.

"No no, it's okay. I am good" I tried to smile.

"It may because you did something stupid yesterday," Max said standing beside the door.

"Good morning Max."

"Stupid? Did I miss something?" Noah asked.

"It's nothing" I finished my breakfast fast and got up. "See you all soon. I am late for class."

I quickly made my way tomorrow the class. The day went quite exhausting.

My eyes were burning and it was getting harder every moment. Plus, Mr Adrian said we have a written exam coming up the next day so I need to study.

"Scarlet?" Olivia called out to me.

"Yeah?"

"I have been calling out to you for long. Are you okay?"

"Um yeah.."

She leaned in.

"Your face looks red" she put her hand on my forehead. "Honey you have a fever!"

"I am okay."

"You need to rest."

"I will, but first I need to do some study in the library."

She hesitated, "okay but don't push yourself."

I smiled.

I went to the library and sat with books and pen and paper making notes. It was hard to concentrate my eyes were burning and tearing up.

I feel like sleeping.

No! I need to study for the test. Or I will fail.

I rubbed my eyes open.

No this won't work. I got up from my seat feeling a bit dizzy but I shook it off. I need a reference book.

I went to the shelves and looked for the books I need.

Where is the book I need? I walked backwards looking up at the top shelve. I slammed into someone.

"Oh, I am.. sorry.." I looked at him.

"It's you," Alex said.

"Oh hi, Alex." I smiled. I noticed a girl was standing beside him. I have seen her before. Where is it?

Yes, the vice student council! Her name was Naomi.

"You know her?" She asked him.

"Unfortunately yes." He said.

I remember him telling me that if I tell anyone I live with him in the mansion then I will be kicked out.

"Um, yeah he is the Student council president. I had some issues so I came to him the other day. That's how we know each other.

I gave him a glance. He seemed pleased with my explanation.

"What are you doing here?" She asked," Don't you know this section of the library is used by the student council only?"

"Oh, I didn't know. I wanted something reference books for the test tomorrow but I couldn't find them."

"Okay, but please take leave now. We have a meeting within 10 mins."

"Yes I will..." as I was speaking I couldn't keep my balance, my vision went blurry and my head felt light weighted.

I hold out the first thing I could find. Alex himself.

"I am sorry...my head..."

"Hey, you okay?" He asked me.

"Yes, i ...am..."I couldn't take it anymore. Everything blacked out.

The only thing I feel is someone caring for me.

Alex's POV

This girl is a headache for me.

Right now I am caring her to our mansion as I am responsible to keep her safe and okay, said my father.

I made some excuse to Naomi and went off.

I could feel the warmth of her body radiating. I touched her forehead it was buried up! Why didn't she took rest?

"Ah.. my head hurts.." she mumbled in her sleep.

I went in.

Noah saw me carrying her. "What happened?"

"She fainted in the library. I think she has a fever."

I carried her to her room.

I made her lie in bed and but the blanket on her. She was breathing heavily. I touched her forehead, it was very hot.

Noah came to the room. "How is she?" He asked worriedly.

"She is burning up," I said.

I moved back as he sat beside her. He put the thermometer in her mouth. After a while, he took it out," 104 degrees."

That's high!

"Can you do something about it?"

"Yes I can try... but her body needs time to process it and heal from inside." He put his hands on her and started to heal her with his green aura.

After his healing ended she breath slowed down.

"Can you keep her company till I make some healthy soup for her?" He got up and left the room.

"Um sure.."

I put the cold towel on her forehead.

"Don't go..." she whispered.

My hand moved automatically to touch her face.

"I bought some soup." He came in. I quickly moved my hand away.

He sat down. "We need to wake her up..."

"Yeah,"

"Scarlet, wake up take the medicine and I made some good soup for you," Noah said.

"Hmm.." she slowly opened her eyes.

She tried to get up.

"Don't, your weak. I will feed you." He said.

She nodded slowly. He fed her the soup. She seemed so small like a child.

Some pieces of cabbage got stuck in the corner of her lips. He wiped it with her fingertip. Somehow I didn't like Noah being so close to her.

"You're here so I will take my leave."

I left the room agitated.

I saw Max ran past me to her room. He also must be worried about her. I thought he didn't like her. Well, I don't care. It's better she stayed away from me.

I missed my student council meeting for the first time.
All-cause of her.

I went to my room.

Night came and I did dinner.

"How is she?" Max asked.

I glanced at him.

"Much better. I healed her a few moments earlier, but she needs rest to recover fully."

"Well if she didn't fell into the lake like an idiot, yesterday to warn me it wouldn't happen," Max said.

"Now it's not your fault, our girl has a big heart," Ryan said.

Noah looked at me," can you take this porridge to her room?"

"Why me?" I said.

"I need to wash the dishes..." he made an excuse.

I rolled my eyes. A lame excuse.

"Give it."

I carried the tray and went to her room. I knocked on it.

"Yeah come in."

I went in and saw she was studying.

This girl!!

"What are you doing?"

"I need to prepare for the test so..." she said sneezing and coughing.

I kept the tray on the table and took away her books.

"Hey?"

"Are you seriously a dump person or just love to get on my nerves! Your sick, you need rest to recover."

"But the test..."

"Screw the test. Everyone is worried for you downstairs, they made you this meal and at least you can do is repay them with you recovering." I said angrily.

"I am sorry..."

"Yeah, you should..."

I looked at her face go down in sadness.

"Now eat up and rest!" I went to the door but she tugged my shirt.

"Can you please stay a while... I am sorry for stopping you, just don't want to be alone."

"You got nerves!"

I made an angry face and sat down. Well, my moral conscious didn't want to leave a sick person alone.

She finished her dinner slowly.

"Now go straight to bed, don't start studying."

"Aye Aye Sir!" She said smiling.

She is stupid.

I took the tray and the empty bowl.

"And scarlet..." I called to her for the first time by her name," you eat like a child." I moved close to her face and wiped leftover ketchup from her lips.

She blushed hard.

I chuckled inside.

But showed her it didn't matter to me and went out of her room. Her lips were soft as silk. I looked at my finger. The sensation didn't leave yet.

I finished the student council work and studying. I looked at the clock. It's at 1 a.m.

I slowly went out of my room to check on her.

I peeped in and saw her sound asleep. I felt calm and relieved.

"I guess I am not the only one worried." Noah chuckled from beside.

Shit! Caught in Act.

" don't get me wrong. I was just passing by as I heard some noise..." I lied.

Apathetic lie...

"Yeah..." he smiled and walked away.

I went to my room.

She doesn't seem so bad, as I thought. I smiled at myself.
