Heya! This is Aanika, How are you?

Heyyy! I’m good, How are you?

Doing great! Let’s start! What has influenced you most as a writer?

I’d say, my teachers. They recognized that I had a talent when I didn’t and they kept pushing me until I did write a book. They’ve been proud of me since then :)

What do you enjoy most as a writer?

Coming up with plot twists hehhe. I love to throw off the reader by surprise. Also, I love shaping my characters because they are usually based on the people I love and cherish. I imbibe my own qualities too in some of them, making them personal and closer to my heart.

How did you plan the plot of your book?

I always write down the points when they pop in my head and I imagine scenes. After jotting the points down, I try to come up with connections, twists, emotions and actions and voila, my plot is ready!

Great!!! Who has been the biggest supporter of your writing?

My dad, my teachers and friends, hands down! My dad always gets excited when he sees me typing and even though he tries to understand what I write, he can’t but he passes it on to each and every person he knows! My teachers keep helping me to push my boundaries and well my friends are my constant support. When I feel my story is shit, they remind me it's not!

Ooh cool lmao. If you had to describe yourself in just three words, what would those be?

Little shit but patient xD Jk, I’d say Imaginative, helpful, and patient :D

Lmao, What tips would you give to people who aspire to become authors?

Just follow your heart! Don't let people bring you down saying that your writing or your book isn't worth it. Just take the first step and you'll learn to fly. You can always learn technical things but I believe writing comes from the heart.

Beautiful xD! I really love that answer! Have you ever had writer’s block while writing, and how did you overcome it?

Tonnes of time!! I am kind of going through it right now too but I feel I shouldn't push myself to write. My hands will pick up the pen when they feel like it, so I don't force myself to overcome it. BUT if it's really important and urgent, I just try to calm myself down, organize my thoughts and jot down whatever comes to my head first.

Oh wow! What are the challenges in writing a book, other than writer’s block?

Countering loopholes, coming up with good plot twists, giving each character their screen space, making sure it is morally sound and doesn't hurt anyone's sentiments.

Oh, I totally agree! I faced many of those too! Especially, coming up with plot twists! It's super hard, I agree- but so much fun to plan it! Next, What is your favourite childhood book & why?

Um, the earliest I remember is reading Fault in our Stars, the whole book, during a train ride, in one sitting.
I like to flex that hehe
The reason I loved that book was it made me cry. Anything that makes me cry, means it has touched my heart in a way that no one and nothing else has.

Oh, one of my favs too! I really love the idea of that story! It's beautiful! What are your favourite genres to read and why?

I like to read fanfics, mysteries and romance (makes me feel giddy, slow-burn ones)

OMG!! MY FAVOURITE GENRES TOO! So similar!! hehe, Next, If you had to bring one of your characters to real life, which character would you bring and why?

Um, Maybe Kanak from Reflection (I feel she is just like me, and having a friend like her will make my day) and Hong Joo from For You (she was my first so I have to see her alive, she is a badass!)
