CHAPTER 2: Conquest And A Cage

~Conquest and a Cage.~

"Crave *chuckles* crave is not enough to describe my greed for you." ~ Zaid

**************

Numbness assailed Shravya as she stared at Aayush. Her lips wobbled up and tears of pain evaded out of her eyes, on witnessing his state. His body was covered with blood. Lots of blood.

What did he do to him?

She sucked a breath between her sobs as her palms touched the floor beneath her, helping her to stand.

After standing to her feet, she ran towards his body and engulfed it in her embrace. "A...ayush....plea....se...wa..ke..up," she wailed loudly, choking on her sobs as her fists tightly fisted his blood-soaked shirt.

"He won't...." His voice reached her ears, feeling him coming nearer. But still, she didn't move. No one else existed for her as she stared at Aayush's face.

Slowly, she cupped his face and wiped his tear-stained cheeks. A loud cry broke past her quivering lips as she put her head upon his chest.

It couldn't be the end of their story.

No! It couldn't be.

It couldn't!

Her tears didn't stop as she felt her entire world breaking and falling upon her while she kept gazing at his face, her head still upon his chest.

She didn't know what to do. She had no idea of what would occur to her. Now, Zaid had killed him, what will he do to her?

Damn it!

"PLEASE WAKE UP!!!" She screamed. A furious release of tears came out of her eyes and she tightly clamped his shirt, in her fists.

"Ple...ase," she croaked, painfully.

"Sona." She heard his voice again. The voice of her destroyer; her nightmare.

Suddenly, her body shivered when she attempted to turn her head towards his voice, but his hand shifted to the back of her skull to keep her still.

"Z.....Za...Zaid." She trembled by his touch and shuttered in fear, feeling scared.

Leaving Aayush, she got up but didn't dare to turn and face him.

Somewhere she herself knew it was dumb to be scared. He; her wrecker was a monster in human disguise and monsters don't show any mercy but she just couldn't help herself. Her senses were numb and her body was shivering as if there was no tomorrow.

She shuddered in detest when he grabbed her waist and plucked her against his chest. "Let him go... please," she spoke meekly, holding his arms, striving to get herself free.

"Why are you shivering? Are you feeling scared?" His hold tightened as he stood behind her. His breaths lingered over her neck when he put a light feather kiss on her shoulder before flipping her and propelling to face him.

Her terror-filled hazel eyes met his blank coal-black ones.

The warm brown sun of her eyes, assessed with a golden ring, seemed helpless against the expanse of his dark sky, that screamed the arrival of a fatal storm.

"Answer me. Are you scared?" He asked again, this time in a high pitch but she didn't respond and looked down at her feet, not wanting to make contact with his dark orbs as the past flashed before her eyes.

Please, no.

This can't be happening.

She gasped in surprise when she felt the tip of his index finger, caressing the side of her face. "You are doing the right thing. You should be scared," he said and she looked at him.

A dark smile lifted the corner of his mouth as he glanced behind her, at Aayush.

He killed him but still, he wasn't satisfied. He was still burning in rage, his soul still restless, craving for peace.

He glanced back at her."Be scared, sona. Scared for whatever you have done." Grabbing her wrist, he roughly pulled her, her shoulders hitting his chest when he turned to his guards. "Take this bastard's dead body and bury it somewhere!!" He yelled, making her flinch.

No!

He can't be dead.

He...he can't leave me.

He can't be dead.

Shravya negatively shook her head to console herself as she stood unmoved in dilemma.

She somehow bought her wrist free from his grip and aimed to reach Aayush, but she didn't succeed when he vigorously pulled her back.

"Look, he is dead and you know what? this all happened because of you," he hissed near her ear, his slender fingers clasping her chin and making her stare at Aayush's body. "All because of you."

"N...o," she spoke, almost in a whisper.

"What you all are waiting for? do your work!!" Defying her, he shouted at the guards, who were standing there only waiting for his command.

"NO!!"

"PLEASE!!!"

Struggling, Shravya freed herself from his grasp and ran towards them, yelling in desperation but they picked up the body and walked out, paying no heeds to her, who was yelling and screaming at them.

The barrier of her strength melted when she turned, her face stuck in horror to see his eyes staring directly at her. Then almost instantly, in a few strides, he was there, right in front of her.

His proximity caused her stomach to wrench, bringing an awful bitterness in her mouth as she stepped rearwards.

With one more step, he again stood before her. His hand captured her chin, dragging her sight and face towards his dark voids. A tear from her eye slid down on her cheekbone and fell upon his thumb.

"Sometimes our one mistake can turn our victory into a downfall and someone else's downfall into a decisive victory. That's how life works. You shouldn't have come here, sona. This mistake of yours blessed me with you, the prize of my conquest." His voice was deep and dull, full of mockery and raw anger.

Shravya was trembling. Her knees were weak, almost failing in assisting her body. She wanted to yell, run, but she just couldn't let herself. She felt torrefied, her gazes constantly and desperately wandering to find a way out.

"It's time to go back." She felt his lips on her forehead as he cooed, his arms slowly draping around her figure and tugging her numb body to him.

The moment her chest collided with his, she sobbed loudly as if the spell of numbness had just broken down.

The only noise around her was the image of Aayush as she heard herself screaming until her throat felt raw while she scratched and clawed his hands.

"HELP!!"

"PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!"

She screamed and screamed until his palm muffled her mouth and she felt a light stinging in her neck.

Her endurance broke apart as the darkness deliberately pulled her into its vast yet dark world.

Her last words were not words but screams of help yet still, no one heard, or if anyone heard, no one cared.

Her beautiful world cracked down when her eyelids fell shut, only to be reopened in her cage from where she escaped years ago..........
