❝Do these riches mean anything to me, if I'm going to die in the end?❞
— Falkien to the Girl
━━━━━━━━━━
Falkien is an ancient creature, much like Azhdeha, of unimaginable age and power. He is an evil and emotional creature who debuts in the one-shot fan-fiction story as the primary antagonist then protagonist, tasked by Hunter Redfern to be used as a weapon when the millennium comes.
Physical appearance
In his basic human form, Falkien is described as "having a very pale skin, mid-brown hair, and pale green eyes embedded with tiny silver flecks." He also has "a serious, regal look with sharp features."
Much like his dragon brothers and sisters, he can alter his form.
Being a dragon, Falkien can take on any outer animal form of his choice merely by touch, including a human form, though for most of the parts of the story, he is shown in his dragon form and then as a human boy (when visiting one of the main safe houses in Circle Daybreak with the girl).
In his true dragon form, Falkien appears as a rainbow-scaled, reptilian beast. During the girl's first encounter with him, she noticed that it was just an illusion. When she blinked her eyes several times and really focused her attention on him, she realized that his scales were "dark as night". And when touched by sunlight, it "shone like the twilight sky". His form is compared to that of "a dinosaur with a wing", even going as far as being described as an "angel".
His Power is described as a "dark swivel of energy radiating within him", perceptible to Night People, including his human soulmate, the girl.
Personality
Just like Azhdeha, he is a cold, ruthless, and a merciless killer. He is particularly arrogant at times, shown only when he disagrees with anything. He grunted when he had no interest in Hunter's intentions and when he had his first telepathic conversation with his soulmate. He is easily distracted and had expressed particular interest and admiration towards the girl after she started talking to him and when she laughed at him.
He can be emotional at times, like when he finds out that his brother, Azhdeha, was killed by a shapeshifter from Circle Daybreak, later realized to be Raksha Keller, with help from the Witch Child, Illiana. Falkien is careless about others' well-being and only desires his own and his soulmate's safety. This is shown when he escaped his cell together with the girl, all the while ignoring the fact that his dragon toes stomped on human slaves or unintentionally hurting them while fighting the vampire guards.
He had a penchant for sleeping and had an odd habit of collecting gold, eating human slaves, or animals, while he waited in his cell. He could be particularly dense and understanding. This is depicted when the girl answered his questions and explained it to him.
He is quite detached from other people and has a protective streak towards his soulmate. When they visited the Circle Daybreak headquarters, he used his power on Lupe when she tried to kill the girl before going after him.
The Past
First Age
Unlike his siblings, Falkien didn't participate in the battle with the witches in the First Age because he was a wyrmling, a young dragon, back then. It is speculated that he was hidden by his parents because his father only told him the story of the war between the witches and the dragons and was secretly laid to rest, instead of being slaughtered, by Hellewise herself.
The Scale of a Wyvern
In an effort to prevent the Circle Daybreak from winning against the coming apocalypse, Falkien was later awakened by the Night World, particularly by Hunter Redfern. He was tasked with being used as a weapon when the millennium came.
During one of his routines in his cell, after eating a whole sheep, Hunter, together with two vampire guards, dragged a girl inside. Hunter stated that the human was his snack. Showing no interest in her, Hunter and the guards leave, locking her up inside with him. He looked away and got irritated when he realized that there was no more space for him to adjust his body.
To relish the fear she was experiencing, the girl tried to talk to him, and was surprised when she answered her question correctly. He noted that she must have read minds, only to later realize that the telepathic contact happened because she was his soulmate.
Their conversation happened in their minds. She sang as soon as they overheard the guards talking about a shapeshifter, Raksha Keller, who managed to kill Azhdeha with the help of a wild power named Illiana. This prompted him to cry out and lash out in fury, using his power to break the stalactites again, but it did not harm the girl.
The girl stated that he must kill her or else they would kill him. Falkien, heartbroken, agrees and prepares to strike when Hellewise appears behind the girl and only to him. Hellewise stated that there is a way to save both of them and in doing so, they could escape the place. The dragon bows his head in submission, clearly wanting to save each other, but mostly, his "missing half".
As they escaped the castle and flew away into a cliff with the girl riding on his back, they searched the Outside, and visited the main safe houses of Circle Daybreak in order to help them fight against the millennium that's coming.
