As Sonic and Shadow were on there way to get the chaos emeralds back from Mephiles, They were both walking together side by side Sonic has had feelings for Shadow for a very long time but he never had the courage to tell him how he really felt about him. They got to Mephiles's base, Sonic and Shadow broke through all of the doors and finally they got to Mephiles there he stood with all the 7 Chaos Emeralds ready to use them to fuse with Iblis again. 

Sonic and Shadow ran in "Mephiles! Give up, Its over!" Shadow shouted, Mephiles just laughed in there faces "Ha! There's no way you can defeat me again! You may of sealed me away once, heh but now im more powerful than I ever was! HAHAHAHAHAHA!" Mephiles said eviley. Shadow and Sonic growled at him, they both looked at each other as in to say they knew what the plan was, Sonic ran left and spin dashed mephiles but it did nothing Sonic knew this but tried and tried again. He was really worn out and was batted and bruised, Shadow ran over to Sonic "Sonic let me take over, You've been hurt enough I don't want you hurt anymore than you already are, I care for you too much" He said helping him up but holding him close to him, Sonic blushed at what Shadow said to him he let Shadow take over.

Sonic felt like he could carry on because of what Shadow said to him, Sonic watched as his crush was fighting Mephiles, he wanted to help him but Shadow wouldn't let him because he wanted to protect him no matter what it takes because Shadow loved him and didn't want to lose the one he loved dearly. Mephiles saw that Shadow was getting more and more tried out the more they was fighting, so he thought to his self the way he could get rid of him for good was to aim a gun at Sonic because he knew that Shadow would jump infront of Sonic to save him no matter what it took. Mephiles pointed a gun at Sonic, Shadow saw this and said running towards the one he loved dearly "Sonic! Watch out!" Sonic turned "huh?" A gun shot was heard,a large scream was heard from Sonic "NOOOOOOOOO!"  Shadow fell to the ground Sonic rushed to his aid holding him closely to him "Shadow...No...NO! You can't...I can't lose you! I-I love you Shadow the hedgehog, I always have" he said with tears streaming down his face and holding him close. Sonic felt a hand oh his face "Heh you deside to tell me this now faker?" Shadow said coughing up blood, Sonic just looked at him and had a sad smile on his face "Shadow I-Im so sorry this is all my fault, please forgive me but please don't leave me, I need you, I don't know what i will do without you by my side" he said crying holding him.

Shadow just smiled "S-sonic...Its not your fault don't ever think that and its too late for me but I love you very much Sonic, I always have and I'm sorry i didn't tell you sooner heh, But remember one thing I will never leave you I will always be with you no matter what and promise me that you will take Mephiles down and save the world, I'm sorry I won't be fighting with you but I will be in spirit and guiding you everywhere you go" Shadow kissed Sonic and slowly closeing his eyes saying "I will always love you" then he's eyes closed. Sonic just held him close sobbing, Mephiles was laughing "Hahaha, oh how touching" he said with a smirk on his face, Sonic turned towards him in angry "UGH! YOU BASTARD! YOU WILL PAY FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE!!!" Sonic had turned into Dark Super Sonic and started to fight Mephiles. They fort for a while then Sonic delt Mephiles one final blow and he was destoryed completely, Sonic turned back to normal.

-Three weeks later- 

Sonic had just came back from Shadow's funeral, he sat on the sofa looking out of the window with tears coming down his face "I miss you so much Shadow...I love you and I know that you will always be with me no matter what and I kept your promise you told me, *sigh* I did it, I saved everyone but I still lost the one that I love" putting his head in his hands crying. Shadow was there in a sprit form looking over him "Its ok blue I'm here don't cry, I'll always be here no matter what, I love you Sonic the Hedgehog" Sonic could feel Shadow there and wiped his tears away and smiled looking like he was there "I love you too Shadow the Hedgehog, Sayanara Shadow I'll never forget you, you will always be in my heart forever no matter what" he said looking out the window into the sky.
