Chapter 41: Henrik Von Shneepilstien
Finally, I can go visit Chase. God I miss him. It's been a week since I got home. Too long in my opinion. I'm going to have to get Chase's kids over soon, but for now I'm good to visit him alone. I feel like I need to.
I can already walk by the receptionist, she knows who I am and knows where I'm headed. I head right up to Chase's room, hoping he's only there for a couple more days.
I knock on the door before entering, tired as I could be. I sit down in the chair next to his bed, not sure if he's okay with me touching him. I mean I was just violently arrested in front of him two weeks ago.
"Hey Chase. I promised I'd be back as soon as I could, so here I am. I'm here, and I'm not leaving again.
"I even checked my record with patients, making sure I have evidence that I haven't done anything wrong. They can't come take me, it's not legal."
I pause for a moment, waiting for him to hopefully respond, when he obviously doesn't I continue. "Part of me was hoping you just needed a small little push, but I knew that wasn't logical, and I'm a patient man. I had my opportunity to talk with you, I can wait again, although I hope it isn't long. It's a joy to talk with you.
"You're probably curious about what it was like, everyone seems to be asking, and I feel like you would ask as well. God it sucked. I never want to do that again." Today I have the energy to do the awkward little laugh. I'm glad, because I know I need my energy for this.
So I continue to talk to him, telling him about all of my adventures, it worries me that none of them have a happy ending, but he's the one who would have asked, and I don't want to lie. I really hope he can hear me and responds soon. I miss him. Come back to me Chase.
Short chapter for today, mostly because I wrote this on the road driving back home from vacation! That was fun. Anyway, hope you enjoyed!
