I was waiting for the nurse to get permission from Chase's doctor to stay the night, but she was taking forever, usually, with an unresponsive patient if they have any response to the world around them, the person there who made them speak is given immediate permission to stay, in hopes the patient essentially "wakes up."

Chase stopped responding some time after Stacy took the kids back to her house after their visit with Chase. He had enjoyed his time with the kids, but I guess instead of drinking, he just shut down this time.

"You're stay has been approved Mr. Shneepilstien."

"Doctor," it's very obvious they don't care about their patients or guests. "Vell may I head back up?"

"Yes, but you must follow me, I have to escort you."

The entire trip back to Chase's room was silent. She didn't even speak when she left.

Until around 10 o'clock I tried to get Chase to respond to me before I went to sleep. I was awake bright and early the next morning, and talking to him as if I were never asleep.

"Your children miss you Chase, I know you love zem so much. In fact everyvone at ze house miss zem too. Zey're such sveet kidz."

The nurse came in the room with a tray.

"It's breakfast time, Dr. Shneepilstien, you can go down to the lobby and wait for Chase to be done, or go pick up breakfast for yourself. It gets a little messy when we try to feed patients sometimes, so we always recommend anyone in the room leave."

"Okay, I hav to update my friendz anyvay." I left to pick up some food from a restaurant nearby. I would call Anti, Jackie, Marvin, and Jamie. Although Jameson would probably be in Marvin's room, so I'd call Marvin first, then ask him where everyone else was.

I almost forgot about food. I ended up at Wendy's and ordered something. Whatever it was I always ordered, I was on auto pilot, and a coffee.

When I got to the window, the lady asked me what I was out and about for. I had a hard time not crying, but I managed.

"My best friend is in ze hospital, he von't respond to anyzing right now."

"Oh, well I hope he responds soon."

"He spoke his first vord in monthz last night."

"What did he say?"

"Henrik, he didn't juzt zay a random vord, he said ze name of ze person in ze room. Ze nurse zaid zat vas better zan anozer vord."

"Well that's great! I wish the best for your friend, and here is your order."

"Zank you." I grabbed my food and drove out of the way. I parked in the parking lot to call the guys at home.

"Hello Henrik, how's Chase doing? By the way Jamie's here." Marvin answered almost immediately.

"He'z doing great, in fact he moved around a little and said my name last night!"
(From here on I'm not writing like he speaks, This is copied from the one-shot book, so that's why it's like that. I'm trying to make everything fit into my plan.)

"That's great.. oh, Jamie says the same"

"Thanks Jamie, he's currently eating breakfast, and I'm in the parking lot of Wendy's eating mine."

"Well, do you mind if me and Jamie come down there to pop in and say hi?"

"Of course not, although no one else can come, they have a visit-" Marvin interrupted

"-Tor limit of three. I know, you tell me everytime Hen."

"Well, I'll see you later then?"

"Obviously."

"Do you know if Jackie or Anti's out and busy?"

"Jackie is out, no-one's exactly sure where, and Anti is at the Iplier house, probably with Dark or Wilford."

"Thanks Marvin."

I called Anti, who was with Wilford, so the whole Iplier house would know in about 10 minutes, and I headed back to the hospital, while eating my breakfast.

Marvin and Jamie beat me to the hospital, and were talking with each other in the lobby. They were waiting for me to get there.

"The nurse said we could just go up when you got here. She said you've been here enough times to know where to go."

"Well, yeah, his room is this way."

We walked to his room and caught up on the way, Marvin's arm was around Jamie the whole way.

When we got to the room, the nurse was cleaning up a small mess.

"Don't forget, most patients respond after being touched or reminded of something, like a memory, he responded once yesterday, and I think that hug helped."

Well that was random. I sat by Chase this time anyway, Marvin and Jamie sat on the couch.

I spoke up first. "Hey Chase, I brought Marvin and Jamie in with me because they wanted to say hi. Remember when Marvin fell off of his invisible magic platform when he was practicing and we had to take him to the doctor?"

Jamie's word slide showed up "Why do you speak like he'll respond?"

"I speak that way because the nurse said it would help, and he needs something to respond to when he stops being unresponsive." I got a little defensive even though Jameson was genuinely asking. I felt bad, and I saw Marvin tighten his grip on him a little.

"Sorry Jamie, I haven't had enough coffee this morning." Marvin's grip relaxed slightly.

"It's fine," the word slide read.

Remembering what the nurse said, I leaned into Chase just a little. I thought he leaned back by just a tiny bit, but I was wrong. He was just as stiff as ever.

"I actually brought a couple things for you, Chase." Marvin spoke up and some how summoned a nerf gun, and a picture with him and his kids. Marvin put the picture on the nightstand, and the unloaded nerf gun in his lap.

"Well I have a show this afternoon, so I have to get going, and since Jamie came with me he has to come too."

"I guess I do, bye Chase," Jamie's word slide read.

"Jamie says bye," I told Chase.

"Bye Chase, I'm off to summon a fire dragon." Marvin left with Jamie. They were clearly talking about me, but I didn't really care.

I got a call and had to leave. I made sure the nerf gun and picture frame wouldn't be messed with, and I got up to leave.
