Alice Lumiathin

    I can't believe I kissed Thomas.  Way to go Alice!  When he breaks up with up you, it's going to be your fault.  I only new where their houses were because before I got adopted I was given a map of the colony to study and memorize.  The rain is insane, and is pouring pretty hard.   I am getting closer to my house.  It's only 5 minutes away, but I'm trying to stall.  Derek will probably tell my parents that I was dropping everyone else off at their house.  As my house came into view I tried to slow down, but then Derek spotted me, and ran over to me.
    "Hey hurry up!  Mom and Dad have been waiting to see you.  They are so excited you are here."  Derek ushered me by half dragging me.
    "I'm coming! I'm coming." I half laughed.
    "You must be freezing you're in pajamas, and are soaking wet."  He laughed.  Then that's when he heard a meow from a ticked off Willow.
    "What was that?"  His voice wavered.
    "Oh Willow!  Oh my gosh I completely forgot."  I said as I pulled her out of my bag. "Do you remember Willow?"  Derek just shook his head as he laughed.
    "You could have taken anything you wanted, and you took a cat."
    "What she was as much family as I really had.  Remember when I was 4 when I got her.  She was such a grumpy cat."  I shared with the still hysterically laughing Derek.  We were up the stairs ready to open the door when it flung open.  I gave Derek Willow.  I wish I could've seen my face as I watched 2 unfamiliar people open the door.  These people were not my parents.
    "Where's my mom and dad?  Please don't tell me they were killed."
    "Of course their not, but they actually have been assigned to go out to fight."  The one short and stocky bald man said.
    "But Derek said they were waiting for me..."  I said almost in tears.
    "They have been waiting to video chat you."  Derek said handing me back Willow.
    "Oh."  I didn't say anything after that.  I was to sad.  This was supposed to be the day I finally see my real parents after almost 11 years.  We walked inside.  The house was nice.  It was 2 story.  Derek's room was right across from mine.  My parents' room was on the 1st floor.  We walked into the living room.  The dining room and the kitchen were combined.  Only Derek and I sat on the couch in the living room. 
    "Well if you need anything, my name is Commander Kurt, and this is my apprentice Dylan.  We will be at the main training station."  Wow Kurt is a commander?  He needs to hit the gym.  I just gave a side smile.
    "You are dismissed."  Derek said.  Why did he just dismiss a commander?
    "All right let's go ahead and call them."  He said after pushing a couple buttons.  Then a giant circle table with more buttons on them appeared.
    "Wow the colony has gone high-tech." 
    "Yea we made some improvements."  With one last push of a button 2 faces appeared on a screen.  Both were smiling.
    "Alice!  We are so sorry we couldn't be there today.  Before you start talking to nothing let me tell you this is recorded.  We can't do a real video chat because it's too dangerous."  My dad said in sorrow.
    "What we really wanted to tell you was that we are so proud of you, and so happy you are home.  We love you so much, and we hope to see you soon."  With that message the screen turned off.
    "I just wanted to let you know that they really didn't get to choose about this."
    "I know."  What else could I say?  "What was with the whole you are dismissed thing with those 2?"
    "Well I was promoted to Chief.  But let's get you settled in.  The bathroom in between our rooms.  After your shower I'll have to leave to go to my shift." 
    "Okay."  I tried to give a slight smile.  I went upstairs into the shower.  Willow ended up making herself comfortable in the sink.  I let the water run down myself.  The hotness made my skin red, but it felt good.  The extra dried blood that was on me washed off making the water gathering around my feet turn red.  I got out of the shower and put on the new pair of pajamas Derek gave me, then headed downstairs to say bye and goodnight to Derek.
    "Alright sounds good.....adhfalskfjh.... I'll be right there... Okay bye."  Derek seemed stressed.  So I went up behind him and pretended to massage him.
    "You seem tense... Helga can fix that."  I joked while saying that in a Russian accent.  Derek started laughing.
    "Alright Helga.  I wish, but I have to get to work.  Love you little sis."
    "Love you too.  See you tomorrow."
    "Oh by the way... I have arranged for me to be the leader on the 2 month mission you are going on."
    "Oh okay yea.  Sounds good."  I said.  I'm happy Derek will be there, but... I don't want to go on that mission.  I don't want to leave Thomas.
