Kasia Jasani didn't want the mark, she didn't ask for it.

She was defending her father when she got it, her father was being attacked so she saved him. That came with a cost though, because his attacker died. Leaving Kasia with a reminder of what she did, she wasn't proud of it but until she dies, she'll have the mark forever.

Kasia honestly thought she was good at hiding it until Sonya Blade knocked on her door. She was gathering people with the mark she said, which meant Kasia had to go with her.

For some reason she thought by doing whatever Sonya said, it would get rid of her mark. Instead, it gave her powers, powers she didn't want.
