Kasia Jasani doesn't know why she tries anymore, she knows the hot water won't remove the mark but here she is standing in her bathroom rubbing her left forearm harshly with a metal scrubber that you would use on a pan, sighing she tossed the metal scrubber into the skin. The mark still wasn't gone, and it would never be.

Her arm was pink and bleeding at the spots she rubbed it the most, all she knew about the symbol was that it was ancient and that it meant something but she slammed her laptop before she could go any farther, she didn't care about what the symbol meant she just wanted it off of her body. She grabbed a washcloth and winced when the rag drifted over the tender spots wiping away the slight blood spots. She bent down and grabbed her big roll of gauze before wrapping it around her forearm biting it off to tear it before pressing it down the make sure it stayed in place.

She pulled her sleeve over it luckily it was an okay temperature and she has always used the excuse that she likes to layer because she's cold all the time, and the people around her take the excuse. Kasia stares at herself in the mirror before grabbing the still damp towel and wiping her under eyes with it which helps her not look like she's been crying from the pain, she's gotten better at this she doesn't cry as much anymore but still, a few tears always leak out.

Rubbing her hands over her hair she grabbed the bathroom door and swung it open before turning the light off as she walked out of her bathroom, living with two men who happened to be married she had to have her own bathroom so luckily they found the perfect place for the three of them. "Smells good," Kasia comments as she walks into the kitchen the smell of pancakes getting only stronger. "Thanks, syrup?" Her best friend Zachary asks not letting her answer before he starts pouring the syrup onto the pancake, Kasia chuckles and reaches for the plate. She slightly winces when the gauze moves against her arm but she tries to smile through the pain but glancing at Zachary she knows that she's been caught.

"So got any plans for the day? Maybe finding a job?" Zachary questions placing his plate next to Kasia's and takes a seat next to her, since the incident Kasia quit her job in the office and started working with her Dad. "Unless you call My Dad's practice a job then yes I found a job," Kasia says stuffing a piece of pancake into her mouth to make her not be able to respond snarkily to whatever Zachary is going to say next. "It's been 6 months Kasia, Hameed is working there too. Are you sure that Naveen needs both of you at his practice?"

Kasia swallows taking a drink of her coffee that Alon had prepared before he went off to take a shower. "He needs us both there, he's told me himself." Kasia was lying, their Dad had told them multiple times he was fine because he had a rotation of staff always with him but the siblings didn't feel comfortable alone, that was something that Kasia and Hameed could agree on at least. Zachary sighs and puts his hands up as a sign of surrender. "Looks, good babe," Alon says as he walks into the kitchen in his scrubs. "Thanks, saved some for you." Zachary pointed his fork towards the plate of pancakes that were waiting for Alon.

Alon nodded at Zachary his thanks before grabbing his cup of coffee and the plate of pancakes. "So, everyone working today?" Alon asks the two friends, Kasia knew he was mainly talking to Zachary and she knew that some people would mind being the third wheel but Kasia didn't. "I have to leave in 20 minutes to make it to Dad's practice, Hameed said he's already there setting everything up." Kasia nods to herself making sure she has the timing right. Alon shoved Zachary slightly with his elbow motioning for Zachary to start talking. "School starts in 10 minutes so I need to leave as soon as I finish breakfast." Zachary looked at Alon apologetically who shook his head and waved his husband off. "No worries, I need to leave around that time too to make it to the hospital on time, if my supervisor sees I'm late again I'm dead." Alon chuckles before drinking the last of his coffee and cutting his second to the last section of pancake.

Suddenly Kasia felt uncomfortable, she quickly scooted the bar chair out and walked towards the trash, and racked her half-eaten pancake into the trash. "I just remembered, Dad told me to come in a little earlier to help Hameed, I'm sorry." Kasia looked at the couple apologetically before walking towards the door grabbing her purse on the way out, she rushed out so quickly she didn't even hear the couple say goodbye to her but she knows they did because they always do but Kasia had to get out of there.

She unlocks her Chevrolet passenger before starting it and buckling herself into the car, she pulls out of the driveway once she's on the road she turns up the music and takes a sigh of relief, she lied about Hameed needing her help but not about him showing up to open before their Dad arrived. Kasia has been doing that a lot lately, lying. She isn't proud of it but she feels it's the only way she can keep her secret about the mark until she gets rid of it, once she does everything will go back to normal, she hopes.
