15: GAH
"Uncle, I would like to enhance my sense of humor..."
I heard my uncle give a questioning tone. "What's that idea all of a sudden nephew and just right after almost getting toasted by an unknown man falling from the sky?"
There was no reason to dwell on such trivial things. Why can't uncle move on already? "I just think that it would be humorous for others, wouldn't you agree?"
"I can never understand you even when I have lived within you for thousands of blue moons..."
Just right after assessing the unknown man, Rui and Buck arrived in the mishap site together with the Centaur, Minotaur and Satyr soldiers that were honed personally by the Prince himself. Luscev had been taught physical and magical combat by Lucifer and Lucius but the Prince's scarcity was the ability to control his temper and neither Lucifer nor my brother could teach him self-control.
And I doubt that the other five can teach him that. If anything, they will just trigger Luscev's temper and they will all end up in a brawl.
But do not be fooled by my son's cold appearance. He was a sweet child especially if he was acting out Caleb's attitude however, all of that will change whenever he would go out for a morning walk and be a role model to the citizens. He was more like Raphael being high and mighty. After that he will explode and be childish and unreasonable from the slightest disarray just like Slade. He would then feel guilty over it and scold himself and apologize to me in modesty just like Sevor and the next thing that will happen was that he will become audacious and be unapologetic just like Samael.
I have raised a wonderful child.
"I think the proper sentence would be: You had no control over the inheritance of such messed up personalities," uncle commented.
I hummed. "You are right uncle. Luscev wasn't able to inherit my sanity. That is unfortunate nonetheless, I adore him."
"Huh, what sanity nephew?"
I half-smiled at uncle's jokes. "The sanity that you were never born with uncle, no wonder you married a destructive woman with the utter beauty which can make a blind person shut his eyes to this cruelty presented to him."
"Nephew!" uncle gasped.
"I am only kidding uncle. Do you appreciate my humor? I have worked hard for it in a span of thirty seconds."
" Nani ga okorimashita?! (What happened?!)" Rui asked in alarm.
All of their spears were pointed down towards the deep cavity that we were in. I have to commemorate the hard work that Buck and Rui have done for the sake of the Kingdom. They have kept this place safe especially when Luscev was gone to do some work. My son had saved Buck and Rui from hunters of mythical beings. The organization that managed such hunting was shut down by my son and needless to say, they were silenced.
I do not condone death but there were always exception to that principle.
"This man fell from the sky. Do you know who he is?" Sevor questioned and pointed at the unconscious being who was now assisted on his feet by Raphael and Caleb.
I picked up the metallic mask and Buck leaped down from the higher ground to take a look at the stranger.
"I've never seen him in my entire life oniisan."
"Maybe Lucifer knows him," Rui stated. "You can only access this place if you have connections with either Lucifer or Luscev," he added which seemed to trigger Samael's foul mood.
"I know that Horunge (Son-of-a-bitch) all my life. I was his groomsman in his wedding and we clearly had connections but do you see me visiting this place like its downtown's Salvage Store for discounted goods? I don't even like Walmart but I've visited that place more than Bruce Willis' hair count," Samael ranted.
I can understand that Samael was upset with Lucifer however; the man didn't know how to explain his own dreams. If he did happen to tell them where I was in the earlier time, there would be no world at the present for there was nothing to seal off the catastrophes because of these men's impulsivity. Lucifer was already having dreams of us even before I was withdrawn but he was unsure of what he was seeing.
I cannot understand nor can I predict our future now. I have stayed in the core and had been in a lethargic state for most in my life. The spheroid that Lucius was once in had burst for some unknown cause thus leaving the faith of the world in my hands. Time passed, Lucius was able to distribute my power throughout the world thus lessening the labor in the core. However, extracting power from me to create them further weakened my state.
At first, I refused to be extorted because there wouldn't be anyone to hold off the catastrophes. Lucius had stopped pulling me out despite the enlivened Luscev behind him. He gave me a smile that said that everything will be alright and everything had been solved.
They withdrew me from the core; Lucifer was already present at that time. They put a guardian in the sphere along with an amethyst stone that possessed an adequate amount of life energy that will activate if somehow the guardian in the core was harmed but I was still suspicious. I was restless. I was terribly exhausted and worked to the bone. I was so afraid...I was so frightened that everything that we worked hard for would just be wasted in a blink of an eye. I was worried that I could have failed the five because I didn't stay in my position to keep the world functioning. I was emotionally vulnerable at that time.
I was delirious and I was physically, mentally, and emotionally depleted.
"Do not worry otouto, look around you, there are no more catastrophes chained to the spheroid. I have sealed them, in here," he assured and brought out a glowing yellow stone. "We can be free now. We can finally live. We can finally let go..." he murmured. "Hold my hand Lucian. I will guide you. I will free you. Big brother will always have your back."
Lucius held up his hand and pierced through the fragile barrier of the sphere. I weakly stared down on his hand and was reluctant to take it yet I wanted to trust him. Ever since the spheroid released Lucius, my oniisan would always promise me that he would release me and that we will gain freedom from the faith that we locked ourselves into. He would go out of the core and would bring Luscev with him to find a seal or any key that would fit to the keyhole of independence.
He was driven. He never gave up. One-hundred years after such searching, they found a way and oniisan looked excited as he pulled me out of the core and into his welcoming arms that had never failed to sheathe me from danger.
But he had sacrificed everything for me that he was pushing himself to the edge of uncertainty and jeopardy. Now I don't even know where he was or how he was doing. I don't have any knowledge if he was eating right or if he had an adequate amount of rest.
"Let's go now. We need to inform Luscev about this. Put him in high securities," Rui ordered and Samael warped the unconscious man above removing the strain on Raphael and Caleb's shoulders.
"Oniisan, you need to have your bath, Prince's orders," Rui told me and Caleb hoisted me up on his shoulders before I was pulled gently by the usually gruff Rui.
I remembered the first time we saw each other after how many years of being separated. Both of them cried. Rui had cried even more so and I had all the nerve to tease him.
Whenever I brought that up, Rui will deny it and Buck was usually the one who experienced the embarrassing smacks from his partner. Both of them didn't have the capabilities to bear a child for they were both Alphas of their race but they have told us that they were picking up orphaned children –except for humans– just like the dragon twins and Sevor's deceased lover.
May her soul rest in conflict.
Samael warped us in the middle of the busy streets of the Kingdom and all of the hustle and bustle stopped and murmurs erupted before every single one of them bowed. Mao, my caretaker (in case the wise and intelligent forgetful beings who were reading this had a permanent amnesia) stood out when she was still obviously searching for me.
"Your Majesty!" she beamed and passed through the frozen people to greet me. When she got a better look of the new faces that weren't really new, she gasped and bowed. Her transparent wings flattened in respect.
"Your Majesties, it is a pleasure to finally have you here," she courteously stated. The five were confused with the attention that they were receiving.
"What in the world is happening here?" Caleb murmured.
The five had never been in the land of Eli but the people already knew them as Kings because they were my lovers. They weren't official Kings because they had to pass a test that Luscev had prepared for them but I have incorporated the image of the five in the minds of the citizens of Eli. Their portraits were hanged in the castle and whenever Luscev was gone, I would have the people join me for a meal and I introduce them to the portraits that decorated the walls of the throne room.
"I am the King of this land but Luscev runs the place. The people here are eager to meet you. You are the lost Kings of Eli," I told them. The five of them seemed dumbstruck from that announcement but Samael easily recovered.
"I get to play Trump in my own land?" he snorted and got harsh smacks to the back of the head by Caleb and Raphael.
A little girl with braided hair came running to Raphael. She was holding a balloon and she excitedly showed it to the angel.
"Elsa, come here!" her mother called.
Raphael looked at her with confusion but a smile was seen on his lips. He was just bewildered on what to do at this moment and the news still had a clear impact on him.
"I believe she wants you to have it. Take it before she lets it go," I told Raphael. My statement caused snickers from Caleb and Samael and even from Buck.
Raphael took the blue balloon and thanked the little girl.
"Die you three," Rui grumbled at the three laughing men.
We were escorted to the Palace that was made from the combination of white marble that glowed because of the intricate carvings of blue lines in where the radiance flowed. The castle stood on much higher grounds that can be accessed by climbing five-hundred stairs and passing through a long bridge. I never get passed the tenth stair so I usually have Luscev, Buck or Rui carry me on their back.
Even before you get to the bridge, you can already see the walls of waterfalls that fell from the higher mountains and into the clean lake that surrounded the base of land where the castle stood. Different kinds of bird-like creatures flew below to fetch fish and other edible things.
"I don't understand why we have to climb so many stairs when we can fly," Slade mumbled.
"Agreed," Raphael panted out.
"We should have an elevator. Elevator sex is hot. I vote for it," Samael chuckled.
"Elevator sex is wrong in so many levels," Buck snorted.
The reaper and the werewolf looked at each other and then suddenly laughed. "Badum tssss!" Both of them chortled in unison earning a groan from Rui.
"Idiots..." Raphael sighed.
"I don't get it. Who would want to have sex in an elevator? Those things aren't scary at all but they are an inappropriate place to fuck," Slade stated in an annoyed tone.
"Where is Luscev?" I asked Rui as we entered the palace.
The ceiling was unreachable and if one would stare for too long, they would get dizzy from how high it was. The state of the inside was the same as the outside. The walls glistened from the blue light from the lines.
"He's in a meeting. He asked me to prepare a bath for you. Mao will-"
"We'll accompany him," Caleb butted in and placed an arm around my shoulder.
Rui nodded in understanding. "Okay then. The meal shall be prepared while you bathe. Just don't bathe for too long. Mao, please show them the way," he requested.
Mao beamed brightly. "Of course, please follow me your Majesties!"
No matter how many times I venture in this palace, there was not a day where I didn't get lost. Mao was really good with directions and she was trained to memorize every hiding spot in the castle in which I can hide but I always manage to escape her even with my poor sense of direction.
"Please take your time. I will be waiting outside!" Mao stated.
"Thank you Mao. I am sorry for escaping again," I said which caused her to pout.
"I'm used to it your majesty and I know how stressful it is to tame him at night," Mao thoughtfully mentioned which led to the five's eyes sparking with threat and curiosity.
"What tame? Who's he? Care to elaborate more?" Slade asked.
"It is a long story," I deadpanned. "I will explain later." It was better for them to see it later at night.
Luscev had not yet explained the details of the test but it will be held tonight. He had always planned it. I told him that tests weren't necessary but he insisted saying that the five would earn the trust of the people more.
Mao clasped her hands together in excitement. "His Majesty is well respected for being able to make the strongest beast of the island docile. He is considered a deity. He is seen as the protector of the island and everyone adores him!"
They have always treated me with much respect for that but it was only a coincidence that the known beast was my own flesh and blood. It was easy to tame him for he knew me.
"I am curious of what this beast is Lucian," Raphael stated but fortunately, they let the mystery die down for a moment.
The bath area was rather large. As you enter, hot steam will warm your exterior and lukewarm moist will be respired. This bath area was where even the ceiling was steamy and you'd think that they were clouds. The mistiness of the place made the area bigger in one's thoughts and actually, it was. I have never ventured enough to actually describe how big it was because my caretakers were too strict and I was never one for warm baths because I prefer the cold lake. The other five shredded their clothes and Slade excitedly dove into the waters. I forgot to tell him that it wasn't that deep and that he might hit his head if he did that.
"The water is turnin' red I think," Samael commented.
"The level of the water isn't high. Please do not jump," I deadpanned which caused Caleb and Samael to laugh hysterically.
"Well too late for that," Raphael stated, slightly amused.
"It's Slade's fault for being too hasty. Lucian has no fault," Sevor pointed out and got into the water to pick up the now unconscious Slade.
A sudden laughter caused all of us to snap our heads to the vague source. Someone else was in here. That was strange. Only Luscev and I were allowed to bathe here although I sometimes let children and adults wash here.
"Who's there?" Caleb called out which silenced the fun of the other strangers.
"I will take a look," I murmured and started to walk only to be hauled back by Raphael.
"Not so fast, we'll go together," he stated.
"I'll come, it might be a pervert droolin' over my sexy bod," Samael snorted.
"I won' leave you Lucian~" Caleb cooed and started to chomp on my neck. The four of us began to walk forward and as we got closer, we could vaguely see a silhouette of a tree.
There was a tree here?
A tall and muscular man had his back away from us and we could hear another voice which seemed to belong to another person.
"Thomas? The fuck?" came from Samael. Thomas turned his head to us and beamed. He was taller than Samael and the others. He was enormously big.
Even below.
"Oh, hello there gentlemen. Might I say how wonderful this bath is? I brought my papa tree and my darling for a dip. It is exquisite. Say hi Darling," he lovingly said to the person who he was covering with his bulky porcelain body.
"Hello, nice to meet you," came from what seemed to be an innocent creature.
"Well nice to see ya too even though I haven't seen your face in my entire life!" Samael laughed sarcastically.
"Oh my bad," chuckled by the boy. Thomas moved slightly away and the boy, who had the same height as I do revealed himself only for a thick cloudy steam to pass by his face.
So we really didn't see him.
