That feeling
It terrified her to know that the very person or people who took Joy had been in her room while she was sleeping. Joy had been in her room when she was sleeping. A chance to see her daughter and she blew it by sleeping.
Stupid Addison.
"Addison I've taught you better than this, your always alert, always ready for changes."
"Ma'am?" A nurse appeared in the doorway.
She smiled sheepishly, "Yes?"
"A call has come in and the hospital is overflowing you wont mind if we stick a patient in here will you?" The nurse was already getting another bed set up and drawing the curtain. "He's got a gunshot wound to the shoulder, he's going to put up a good fight to stay in the hospital.Hes not to keen on staying."
"That's fine." It was. This way she could keep her mind off Kam and his constant need to boss her around.
"Here he comes now, No need to stick around and put up with him. How 'bout we go down to the cafeteria and you get you a coffee?" The nurse was already ushering her out of the room before she had a chance to talk.
Kam looked up at the doctor.. she was standing her ground, he planned on doing the same.
"I am NOT staying here, not for a night, not for a few hours, not even for a few minutes."
"Look Agent, your clearly not thinking straight. The other patient doesn't mind at all to have you staying in there." Dr.Milton was known for getting her way, that's the only thing he knew about the young doctor.
"Sorry I've already made up my mind."
"So has your boss, he sent in this pink slip saying that you need to stay for examination." She handed him the paper with Gales name sprawled on it, he scowled. He should've known that Gale would take the doctors side.
"Fine.. only because I don't have a choice."
She nodded and led him to a room, all of them looked the same and he wished he knew Addison's room number so he could keep his eye on her.
Addison walked into her room, her full coffee in her hand. She hadn't had the appetite to have any of it. Sighing she set it on the table, she tripped on a cord and toppled onto her bed.
"Ouch." she muttered as she sat up.
A man grumbled on the other side of the curtain,"I hate hospitals."
She tried to sound cheery as she called over the room to introduce herself.
"I'm glad to have some company for a few nights."
He growled, "Sorry to disappoint but the second I get the O.K to leave I'm out of here."
She nodded her understanding, "I feel the same, unfortunately a detective has me stuck in here for another two nights."
She heard shuffling, "Kitty cat?" He laughed as he pulled back the curtain.
She knew her eyes were wide and she nearly screamed when she saw she was stuck in a room with the bossy detective with no emotions. "Kam?"
"Detective to you."
She glared at him, "Addison to you."
He smiled sympathetically, 'Fair enough|."
'Its fair.. because that's my name."
"Yep."
She looked at him, "I can't call you Kam or Kamden?"
He shrugged, "I go by Detective for all my clients."
She glanced at the flowers that still sat on the table, she pointed to them.
"Whoever has Joy sent those to me along with a very aggressive note."
He eyed her, "Aggressive?"
"I guess a more accurate word would be hurtful."
She glanced at his shoulder, "What happened to you?"
"You." He smiled and his eyes danced with amusement.
"As you know Ive been here since you gave doctors orders to not let me leave so I couldn't have done that."
He grinned, revealing two dimples that played across his face. "I have them keeping you here because-"
"I'll get in your way."
"Its dangerous, and your safe here." He said as he eyed the flowers
