I know it's been awhile. I've been super busy but I have made time to update today so here it is. Hope you like it.

Skylar's POV

My thoughts ran wild. 'Why are they at my house? Did something happen to mom? I quickly made my way over. They both turned as I approached them. I nearly fainted at the sight of one of them...my brother; Jerome (Pic above is Jerome- David Henrie). I froze. 'He left me...why is he back...why did he lie to me?' I felt my anger build up but my happiness overpowered it and I ran and jumped into his arms. He hugged back instantly.
"Why did you leave me?" I sobbed into his shoulder. "You promised you wouldn't leave me with him. You promised." I heard him mumble something to the other officer before walking us inside the house.
"I'm sorry, Sky." He pulled back and wiped his thumb across my cheek. "I couldn't stay. I know you're mad that I left but I had to get myself together first. I didn't mean to hurt you." He brown eyes were glossy much like mine. "I'm sorry I left you with him. I wanted to do something so I could help but I guess I just made it worse." I hugged him again.
"Don't leave again. Don't leave me again. Please."
"I won't. Never again." He promised.
"My babies back together." I looked away to see my mom gushing over us.
"Yeah..." I mumbled.
"What do you say we celebrate? Dinner tonight. On me." He spoke. My mom's face brightened.
"'Course. I should get back to work. I'll be back in time for dinner." she kisses both of our foreheads before leaving.
"So...you followed in mom's footsteps." I motioned towards his uniform. He smiled.
"Uh yeah. I wanted to be able to protect you and mom whenever I came back. You know since..." He trailed off and I nodded slowly understanding. "How was your first day?" He asked clearly wanting to change the subject just like I did. I groaned.
"It was...eventful."
"Wanna talk about it?" I moved and flopped on the couch. Jerome followed.
"As soon as I stepped foot in the school everything went down from there." I told him all the things that happened from jumping into the guys to meeting Perrie...but I might have left out the incident at lunch. "And the worst part is that they were both together...like same clique. They could literally kill me."
"I'm sure it was all just a misunderstanding. I bet it'll be better tomorrow. I'd not then I'll have to be your bodyguard." I scoffed.
"I do not need a bodyguard." he snickered.
"Sure you don't." We both laughed.
And that's how the rest of my day went. Catching up with my brother and having a much needed laugh.

~8:00pm~
"Can we just order pizza? I'm starving." I whined.
"We're waiting for mom. I'm sure she'll b-" He was cut of my phone ringing. I looked to see it was mom.

"Hello?"
"Sweetheart, I'm sorry I can't make it for dinner. They need me on patrol." I could hear the excitement in her voice.
"Oh...that's good mom. I guess we'll just order pizza and call it a night.
"Okay. I'll see you in the morning. Love you.
"Love you, too. Bye." I hung up and turned to Jerome. "I told you. Now can you order pizza?"
"I can do better. Get dressed." I looked at him confused. "Go." He nudged me. I groaned and dragged myself upstairs. I hated when he used to do this.

I slipped in his cruiser and he sped down the road to god knows where. I just sat and waited until he pulled up to a pizza place.
"Seriously, we couldn't order in?" I unbuckled my seatbelt.
"That wouldn't have been fun." He grinned. I rolled my eyes playfully and got out. I followed him inside. We sat at our booth and a waiter instantly came over. I wasn't really paying much attention to him though I was trying to figure out what I wanted.
"Sky." I looked up to see Jerome smiling and shaking his head. "You are really out of it. Do you know what you want?"
"Uh, yeah. A pepperoni calzone is fine." I told the waiter glancing at him for the first time. I instantly felt faint. Out of all places he had to be here....and to top it off he was looking at me and I could literally see the flames in his eyes. Uh-oh.

Okay so this is update number one...its just a filler to get ready for the next chapter. Sorry but it will get better next chapter. I promise.
