I turned to look at Drew who had gone awfully quiet. We were still driving and I have no idea where we're going. "Why do you ask?" I say after a few moments of silence. "I have an idea that possibly the parents of Danny, Emma and Flynn have something to do with everything. Danny's dealing with unfinished business." Drew went on.

I mean it's a possibility?

"How does your Mom know Mr winters?" He continued.
"How did ...."
"Oh I'm sorry... I had no Idea."
I nodded with a forced weak smile.
"My mom bless her, knew Martha winters. Next to Emma and Flynn, her death hit her the most. They grew up together, completely inseparable. Just like me and Emma." We both smiled. "My father was a war veteran and my mother was a nurse. She was good friends with another woman there. I think her name was... Vanessa? She was Portuguese I believe. She lived in the same apartment building as us but I'm not sure what happened. I don't remember seeing her from the age of 14 onwards."

We had been pulled over in a parking lot for 10 minutes before Drew put his phone away and said "Emma's going to be here in 5. I've told her your home."
"So she won't pick up the phone to her brother or best friend but to you she will? Urgh..." I said crossing my arms.
" Look Smith I'm only telling you this because I consider you a good friend and someone I trust... I may have... Feelings for Em....Our relationship has always been complicated but... now? seeing her again after a few years...yeah." He spat out.

Oh. Was not expecting that. Not at all actually.

"Woah... I mean of course that's great! Bit of an awkward time but I think that's lovely Drew." I rubbed his shoulder and he smiled.

Emma's car rolled up into the bay near ours. We got out and walked over to her.
We stood in silence.
I remembered everything we have gone through and I couldn't help myself. I embraced her in a huge hug. She returned and sobbed into my shoulder.
I love Emma so much.
My best friend.
My rock.
Slightly strange seeing as I'm dating her older brother. But still.
After we pulled away I asked her "Em.. what happened?"
"Danny... He got really angry with me oceane... I didn't like the side of him I saw."

We had to come up with a lie as to where Flynn was.

"He's just been so ill with a cold. You know him. He doesn't deal with them well. To make matters worse he's broken his phone as well." We told her.
Basically all Drew wanted to ask her was about Danny's parents. Getting it into the conversation was going to be difficult.
Not for Drew Kingston.
"Is Danny staying with a relative or parent?"

"Yeah a Vanessa Simmons?" She replied.
