Kaitlyn's POV

Today is the day. I'm getting the justice I deserve. My parents never loved me. I make my hands into fists and feel as if I am going to cry.

"It's ok, calm down," Ethan's calm voice reassures me. 

Rachel and Daniel were going to meet me and the Dolan's at court. 

Ring ring. 

"Hello?" I answer

The familiar voice says, "Kaitlyn, I swear to God! If you expose me in court today you will pay." 

"Who the fuck is this?" Ethan says.

"ETHAN! MOUTH" Lisa yells as he rolls his eyes. 

"Not your business, where is Kaitlyn?" My dad says. 

"Uh wrong number, buddy, now do me a favor and stop being such a perv. Buh-bye" Ethan says as he hangs up, "I won't let him hurt you."

"Kaitlyn, the judge wants to have a witness to ask about the abuse, can anyone speak on the behalf of you?" my lawyer asks. 

"I'll do it!" Ethan and Grayson say at the same time.

"I don't care whichever one does it," she says annoyed, "just pick someone." 

"Gray, lemme do it. I know more than you do." Ethan says as Grayson looks helpless. 

"ALL RISE FOR JUDGE SCALA!" A booming voice says as we stand. 

"Today, we are here for the case of Joseph v. Joseph. Who is Ms. Kaitlyn Joseph?" The judge asks. 

"That'd be me. Good morning, Judge Scala, today I am suing my parents for sexual harassment, influenced by drugs, and abuse of a minor."

 "Okay, I need a witness." 

Ethan's POV 

Sexual harassment? I didn't know this? 

"That would be me, your honor. I am Ethan Dolan, one of Kaitlyn's closest friends, she has been staying with my family ever since I found her staying at our town's public high school. There had been rumors going around since the 2nd grade that Kaitlyn was abused and it was something I did not think much of until this April when I saw her at the mall with cuts and bruises on her legs. I remembered the rumors and started to believe they were true. She was being bullied at our school and I decided to reach out and get to know her. I truly wanted to help her. As you can see, my family has been taking care of her and we helped get her a lawyer and everything. We just want Kaitlyn to have the justice she deserves." 

"Thank you Mr. Dolan, but do you have any evidence of the sexual harassment or drug usage?" The judge asked. 

"No your honor, if I am being honest, I just heard Kaitlyn say that now but I am sure her lawyer, my parents, and herself know more than I do."

Kaitlyn's POV

Ethan sat back down after his amazing speech and we gave proof of my abuse throughout my childhood. 

"We have come to a verdict," the judge said as I grabbed Ethan's hand, "the case of Ms. Kaitlyn Joseph v. Amy and Chase Joseph will being going to the plaintiff, congratulations, Kaitlyn. As for Amy and Chase, they will be spending 30 years in prison for their crimes. Guards take them away. Mrs. and Mr. Dolan, it has been brought to my concern that you have been watching over Kaitlyn?" Judge Scala asked. 

"Yes, we hope she can continue her stay with us." Lisa said. 

"That is fine, but once she turns 18, she can choose whether or not she wants you as adoptive parents. Have your lawyer get the adoption papers by Friday the 24th and we will sign them then." The judge said. 

"Will do, thank you, your honor." Sean replied. 

"CONGRATS, KAIT! YOUR PARENTS GOT WHAT THEY DESERVED!!" Daniel and Rachel exclaimed. 

"Thanks, instead of going out, can we just all go home and hang tomorrow, it's been a draining day." I sad-smile. 

"Whatever you need, babe." Grayson said as I don't think much of it. 

~~~AT THE DOLAN HOUSE HOURS LATER, KAITLYN IS ASLEEP ON THE COUCH~~~

Ethan's POV

"Dude, 'babe' what is that about?" I whisper yell so Grayson can hear me. 

"What," he asks like the idiot he is, "what is the problem, Ethan? Why can't I say a cute name to a girl I like." 

My heart dropped and my brain scrambled for answers it did not have. Did my brother just say he liked Kaitlyn. 

"E, what is the problem?" He asks again. 

"You can't like her." I say

"Why?" 

"Because I love her........"
