Nathan's POV

After that dream with The Moon Goddess, I woke up to Bailey screaming. She thrashed back and forth, her eyes still closed. Underneath her eye lids, they were darting back and forth frantically.

She was whimpering and whining about something. Something about the pain, how she  deserved it and how this is how it feels to be betrayed. I called out her name and touched her shoulder, gently shaking her.

She whimpered again and I yelled her name louder. Finally she shot away and looked around frantically. When her eyes landed on me, they softened for a second but then widened in fear and horror. She whimpered and jumped away from me, covering her face.

Hurt washed over me and my wolf Titan.

'What did we do wrong?' He asked me.

She squeezed her eyes shut in pain, my wolf yelled at me to go comfort her.

"Hey, hey Bailey. You're ok, it was just a nightmare." I said softly to her. "You're awake now, you're safe." I scooted just a little closer to her, hoping she would let me comfort her. She whimpered and backed away more. The pain of slight rejection sparked in me. I was confused, just a little while ago she was cuddling by my side, trusting me, now she is shying away like I was him.

She pulled her legs up to her chest like she does when she is in pain and scared.

"Bailey?" I whispered, hoping she would recognize me. "It's me, Nathan." I held my hand out to show her that it really was me and that I wasn't going to hurt her. She just stared at my hand with a pained expression as a tear trickled down her beautiful perfect face.

"Please Bailey, look at me?" She slowly looked up and met my eyes for a slit second. They held so much fear and pain, it tore me up inside at the thought that I was the cause for it.

"See? It's just me, I won't hurt you." I moved a little closer. "You're safe now, it's ok. I would never hurt you. He is never coming back." I said as soothingly as possible as I got closer. She just looked at me and stayed silent and still.

I slowly, very slowly, rested my hand on the back of her cold one. She visibly flinched which made Titan whimper. She whined and pulled away from my hand.

"S-Stay away!" She moved further away from me.

'What did we do?' Titan howled in pain.'Fix mate!!'

As Titan was being loud, I noticed Bailey getting near the edge. "Stop Bailey! The edge!" I yelped. She froze and looked down. Then she looked all around and flinched when she saw me.

"I'm sorry Bailey, for whatever I did. I'm sorry." I whispered, trying to find out what I did wrong. "Please, come away from the edge?" She shook her head and I couldn't stop the pain from showing on my face.

I jumped when she suddenly cried out in pain. She clawed at her chest and cried harder. I whimpered as I knew I couldn't help if she didn't want it.

"Please Bailey! Let me help you!" She shook her head and covered her ears a little.

"S-Stay away from m-me." She hiccuped.

"Please don't push me away!" I said super softly. "I just want to help." I kept repeating soft comforting things as I slowly approached her. Once I was right next to her, I carefully wrapped my arms around her, pulling her into my lap. She stiffened and I whispered in her ear.

"Shhhh. It's ok Baby. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry for whatever I did. I'm here now though, I'm here for you. Always." I released my calming aura. She breathed in my scent and I felt little fireworks wherever she was touching me.

A few seconds later, she just broke down. She turned in my arms and cried into my chest, gripping my shirt in her tiny fists like her life depended on it. My heart melted as I wrapped my arms securely around her. I rubbed her back, rocked her back and forth, and whispered soft encouraging things in her ear.

As she cried, I couldn't help but think back to the dream with The Moon Goddess.

'Someone who isn't who they seem?' I asked Titan. 'What could she have been talking about? And was it just me, or did she say it out of no where? Like, no riddle, no prophecy, just random, 'someone isn't who they seem' out of no where.'

'I have no idea. It did seem very random and sudden. But don't worry about that right now idiot. Bailey needs you, needs us.'

As if on cue, she began to calm down. She was still tightly gripping my shirt but I really didn't care. I could feel her tears through the shirt and it broke my heart. She sighed and slowly let go.

'We did something to trigger bad things for mate, what did we do? What can we do differently?' Titan whined.

"I'm sorry Bailey." I whispered sincerely.

"F-For what?" Her soft voice hiccuped.

"I'm sorry I couldn't keep the nightmares away. I'm sorry for whatever I did, so so so sorry." I felt her shudder in my arms and it only made me want to hold her closer.

"It doesn't matter. That wasn't you. I'm safe now." She repeated that last part but seemed to be telling herself that and not me.

"That's right. You're safe." I hugged her and she slowly hugged me back. After a while, which didn't feel long enough, I felt her slightly pull away so I did as well. "Do you want to talk about it?" I asked, just wanting her to have that option. She shook her head violently. "Ok ok, I'm sorry." I apologized again. She sighed.

"Don't apologize Nathan, you did nothing wrong." She whispered. "I-It's me. I can't get over my past. He has ruined me. I'm sorry."

'HELP HER!!!!!' Titan yelled.

"Oh Baby, it's alright. You aren't ruined, you are strong, beautiful, perfect." I said, trying to get her to understand. She curled up on my lap and rested her head on my chest. I laid my chin on the top of her head and smiled slightly.

'How can she be so cute?' I thought.

'Because she is ours and she is perfect.' Titan growled softly, kind of like purring.

"Are you tired Bailey?" I asked. She shrugged her shoulders. "Do you want to go on another run?" She shrugged her shoulders again. "Why don't we look at the stars?" She didn't say anything in return so I took it as a yes.

"How can you not see how beautiful and perfect you are?" I mumble whispered so softly I don't think she could understand what I said. I slowly laid back and laid her next to me, cuddling her close.

I could feel the bond hum between us, it wasn't as strong as it was just a few hours ago. I knew she was slowly giving into the bond and relaxing. But as soon as I felt her start to relax, she tensed up again.

'Sing again. She seemed to really like that. I could feel the bond strengthen last time you sang.' Titan advised. 'Even if you do sound like a dying rat...'

I ignored his last comment and took a deep breath. I sang through All of Me changing some things to make it more for her and shorter. By the end of it, I could tell the bond was stronger.

"Thank you." She finally whispered after I ended the song. I felt a small smile creep onto my lips.

"What for Angel?"

"Everything." She said super softly. She turned to her side and faced away from me. I also turned and pulled her into my chest softly, holding her close. I could tell her mind was still going over the nightmare she just had but I didn't want to push anything.

Slowly my mind went blank and my eyes drifted close. I fell asleep to the feeling of my mate in my arms and her scent surrounding me. As I slept, Bailey's voice filled my head.

"I'm sorry Nathan. But I can't be hurt again. The only way for me to do that, is to be alone. I'm truly sorry."

Of course I didn't think anything of it and sunk into deep sleep.

I shot awake and instantly knew something was very wrong. With the sun peaking above the horizon, I shot to my feet and spun in a quick circle. Bailey... she was gone...

Her scent was faint. Titan howled loudly in my head. I frantically looked around some more.

"BAILEY!" I yelled out, I could hear the fear in my own voice. I ran all over the peak, looking around, down the hill, into the forest, frantically looking for my mate.

It felt like a heavy rock was dropped into my stomach. She was gone...

'BAILEY!!!!!!!!' Titan roared.

I fell to my knees and screamed. I gripped my hair and tried to process what was happening.

'LET ME OUT! FIND MATE! LET ME OUT!!' Titan tried to push through and shift.

I growled loudly and shifted, shredding my clothes in the process. Titan took control. He threw his head back and howled our sorrows. Then he ran around the perimeter of the top of the mountain, searching for Bailey's scent.

He found it and tore after it full speed, his nose close to the ground.

'She must have left right after we fell asleep.' I said to Titan. The scent wasn't that fresh.

'Why didn't she shift?' He asked.

'I don't know... was she too scared?'

'OF WHAT?'

I forced back control and stopped.

"Kyle!" I mind linked my beta and best friend.

"Yes Alpha?" He instantly mind linked back. He knew something was up. He calls me Nathan when he knows its not about business.

"Bailey's gone. I need trackers and warriors to the north east sector to find my mate!" I tried not to yell but Titan was making that really hard.

"Yes Alpha. Right away."

I continued to follow her trail for a while as my pack caught up. A few minutes later I sensed my pack nearing. As the came up to me, I shifted back and they all followed suit.

"My mate is gone. She must have ran in the night. We must find her quickly. I don't want her to wander off the territory or get hurt. When you find her, do not approach her!" I growled. "You mind link me and keep your distance. I will handle it. Do you understand?" Some nodded, others responded with a 'yes alpha.' "Go in pairs of two, one tracker, one warrior. Move swiftly and carefully. This is our Luna we are talking about." With that, they all shifted and charged off, following her scent.

Once I knew they were all off searching for Bailey, I shifted. Titan gave me some energy as I tore off after her scent easily. I passed all the trackers since her scent was stronger to me than it was to them.

I followed it for a while until I came across a river. Her scent ended at the water. I whined and quickly swam across and searched for her scent there, when I didn't find it, I swam back to the other side and continued to search for it.

The trackers and warriors came up not long after and were also following the scent. We tracked it down the river a ways and through the forest, she sent us on loops and back tracking.

The day went on and they we were still trying to follow her scent. The further we went this way, the closer we got to the edge of the territory and it scared me.

'What did we do?!' Titan cried for like the millionth time. 'What did we do wrong? What did we do wrong? How could she run away from us like that? How? How does her wolf not stop her? What did we do wrong?'

'I-I don't know Titan. I don't know what we did wrong.'

"Has anyone found anything?" I asked the group of wolves searching.

"Nothing Alpha." The groups responded. Suddenly, through the bond, I felt some sort of jolt. A painful tug in my chest. At first, I was still, then my body shook and Titan howled in agony. It felt like a part of my body that connected my pack, my mate, and I, was quickly pulled out of my chest.

'BAILEY!' Titan howled.

I was in shock... she left the territory. I collapsed on the ground in wolf form.

'No...' I whispered. 'She couldn't have left...'

"She left the territory..." I whispered through the link, not finding the energy or courage to do anything more. I just laid there, on the ground.

'She left us...' I couldn't believe it. My mate left me.

"I'm sorry Alpha." I heard Kyle say. "I'll call the neighboring packs and have them keep an eye out for her."

"Thank you Kyle."

Titan whimpered loudly in my head. 'What did we do? What did we do? What did we do?' He kept repeating and became quieter and quieter till he was barely whispering.

'I don't know Titan. But whatever we did, we will fix this and make it right.' I tried to sound confident but it didn't really sound that way.

'If we even ever find her again...' I shivered at the thought.

"Alpha!" A warrior said.

"Did you find her?!" I shot to my feet.

"Sorry Alpha, I have not found Luna but I think you should come see this, well actually, smell this."

"Where are you?" He told me where he was and I ran towards him as fast as I could. I crossed the river and stopped at the tracker and warrior that contacted me.

"Her trail leads up to here, we were able to find it. But then, it just vanishes. No other scent is left in its wake." He informed me.

I instantly started to smell around, I found her trail by the river, followed it to where the wolves were and they were right. The trail just stops. I searched around for it, spiraling out from where the scent vanished but it was just gone.

'She must have finally shifted.' Titan whined.

'But then where is her wolfs' scent?'

'She's a royal idiot! Once their wolf senses distress, their wolf scent vanishes. Her wolf must have been on board with running away so she masked her scent!'

I growled loudly causing the wolves near me to jump and quickly submit.

"We won't be able to track her any further Damm!t!!" I growled through the link to all the trackers and warriors.

"Why not Alpha?" A few of them asked. I didn't respond, instead I growled viciously and pounced on the nearest thing, which was luckily a tree.

I let out all my anger and frustration on the tree, clawing it up, ripping apart the bark until that wasn't enough and I shifted back and punched it with all my might. The entire tree shook from the impact and leaves rained down. I was breathing heavy in rage and stumbled back away from the tree, running both hands through my hair.

"Alpha?" I heard a nervous voice squeak. I spun around to see some of my pack members looking at me worriedly and the nearest male was holding out a pair of shorts. I huffed and took it from him.

'Now what?!" Titan growled. 'How are we going to find mate?'

I began to pace around, walking back and forth, running my hand through my hair and growling.

"Kyle!" I mind linked him.

"Yes Alpha?"

"Has their been any sightings of her?"

"I'm sorry, no there has not Alpha."

I loudly snarled and punched that same poor tree again. The tree shook and groaned from the impact again.

"Is there anything we can do Alpha?" I heard one of the warriors ask. I spun around to see that all the groups where there, looking ashamed and scared.

"There's nothing we can do." I snapped very angrily at them. They all flinched and jumped back a few steps. I continued to pace, trying to figure out how to find Bailey, trying to keep in some what control, and trying to keep sane. But knowing my mate, who has definite severe trauma from her past, is off my territory and in possible danger, has Titan and I on the very very edge of sanity.

'Where is she? Why did she run away? What if she is in danger?! We can't help her if we don't know where she is!!!' I ranted to Titan, who was just fueling that anger. My hair was a mess from all the times I was running my hand through it and pulling it in frustration.

It felt like hours went by with me just pacing and growling.

'There has to be something we can do!' Titan snarled.

"Alpha." I heard Kyle. I froze misstep, looked up at him to see his worried face. I knew he found nothing so I growled softly and continued to pace. "Alpha, you need to calm down, you are frightening the pack..." Kyle said softly. I noticed that the pack was gone, it was just me and him. I snarled at him.

"Be calm?! Be calm?!" I stopped and faced my best friend. "How can you tell me to be calm when my mate is out there possibly in danger and there is no way to find her?!" I roared, I could feel Titan trying to take control. My eyes were flashing back and forth and glowing like crazy. Kyle flinched but held his ground.

"I understand thi-"

"HOW CAN YOU UNDERSTAND?!" I interrupted him loudly. "YOU HAVE YOUR MATE BY YOUR SIDE! SHE HASN'T RUN AWAY FROM YOU HAS SHE?! YOU KNOW SHE ISN'T SCARED OF YOU! YOU KNOW THAT SHE LOVES YOU LIKE YOU LOVE HER! You've never had to wake up to hear her screams!" I became softer as the pain in my chest began to sting more.

"You've never had to rock your mate back to sleep because she was too scared to be alone. You've never had to hold yourself back from doing or saying anything that could remind her of her past. You've never had to worry that you wouldn't be able to save her from the nightmares or pain. You've never had to worry that your mate still wanted you. You've never had to deal with the pain of knowing your mate was too scared to trust you." I was pretty much whispering now and Kyle was just standing there shocked.

"I've woken up from Bailey's screams every night since she came into my life. I've had to hold her close to me just so she would feel safe enough to relax. I've had to try to help her through so many painful memories, so many break downs, so many panic attacks all because of one man that I can't go after right now." I stumbled and feel to the ground and just sat there. "How can you understand?" I whispered. "How do I know that he hasn't found her again? Or if she is safe? Does she even remember the name of our pack? Will she even be able to speak to someone enough to find me? Does she even want me yet?" I held my head in my hands.

"I'm sorry Nathan." Kyle sighed, sitting down next to me. "I know I haven't had that. But she is strong. I know she can get through this. We will find her Nathan."

"How?" My voice cracked and sounded so weak.

"By trusting other Alpha's and pack's to find her and bring her home. If we can't find her, then she will find us. She will come home Nathan. We just have to be strong for her."

"But I'm nothing without her." I heard Kyle sigh and right as he was about to speak, we got a mind link.

"Alpha, Beta, we got a call from the Dark Eclipse Pack, they claim they have Luna." I growled, and jumped up. I began to run towards the Dark Eclipse Pack.

"Tell them I am on my way to get her." I told that same wolf. I then mind linked Kyle. "You're in charge of the pack until I get back."

"Yes Alpha."

I ran as fast as I could, the forest around me was just a blur. Time went by so slowly. Titan fueling me to run faster, further, to get to Bailey. Finally I made it to their territory's edge. There was a small groups of scouts waiting for my arrival. I slowed to a stop and they shifted back.

"Welcome Alpha Nathan of the Sunrise Warriors, we are here to escort you to the pack house." They threw shorts and a shirt at me. I shifted back and put them on in record time. I bet my shirt was even on backwards but I didn't care at the moment.

I crossed over the boarders and followed them. They were walking... walking!

'Please tell them to GET MOVING!' Titan roared. 'WE NEED TO SEE MATE!'

"Excuse me, can we hurry it up please?! I need to see my mate!" They all looked shocked at my outburst but obliged anyway. We took off running instead which was way better. Still too slow for my liking, but faster. As soon as the pack house was in view, I took off full speed.

"Wait Alpha Nathan!" I heard them yell. But I didn't listen. "ALPHA NATHAN WAIT!" They repeated again. I growled but stopped, this was their territory not mine.

"Why are you holding me back from my mate?!" I growled once they were nearer. They flinched.

"We need to let Alpha know you are coming and we need you to enter calmly." Titan snarled in frustration and I scowled at them.

"You can't stop me from seeing my mate." Then I ran. I heard 2 of them swearing and running after me, trying to catch up.

"Please Alpha Nathan! Stop!" I didn't listen and only ran faster towards the door. I must have been so blinded by the thought of seeing Bailey again, that I didn't see the large rock sitting in my path. I tripped and stumbled over it, allowing the scouts behind me to catch up. They each took an arm first steadying me then holding me down.

"Please Alpha Nathan, you need to calm down first." I growled and tried to shake them off of me.

"Let go of me." I said lowly, Titan coming through.

'How dare they stand in the way of us and our mate!' He snarled. They flinched but were able to hold their ground since I wasn't their alpha.

"I said." I snarled at them slowly. "Let. Me. Go."

"You need to calm down first Al-" I growled and tore out of their grips with ease and bolted towards the door.

I tore it open to see a male werewolf standing in front of my mate.

Behind the wolf with a death wish was my mate holding a blanket close to her and looking super scared. Next to her was a female werewolf that seemed to be comforting her.

"I'm sorry Alpha. I tried to calm him and slow him down but he-" One of the scout behind me said but was interrupted by the male werewolf, My guess, Alpha Logan, held up his hand. Logan waved him off and I heard them sigh behind me. I was too focused on my mate. She looked ok at first glance but she still looked at me with pure terror.

"It's fine, you may go." Logan said and the men left, leaving just the four of us. Bailey's hair looked a little crazy and she still looked scared of me.

"Bailey?" I called to her, slightly breathing heavy. She whimpered and pulled the blanked closer to her. "I-It's me, Nathan." I took a step forward.

"She's scared Alpha Nathan." Logan said softly, still standing in front of my mate.

'Who does he think he is?! Getting between our mate and us?'

"You don't think I know that?" I snapped angrily at him, my eyes probably flashing back and forth since Titan was snarling and clawing to get out and attack Alpha Logan. Bailey flinched and moved closer to Luna Clarissa and Alpha Logan. I noticed and couldn't help but feel hurt. The anger was nearly washed away and was replaced with sadness and hurt. "I'm sorry for scaring you Angel. Please tell me what I did wrong so I can do better. I'm sorry." I looked between Logan and Bailey.

I couldn't help but notice how she seemed to be glued to his side and not mine. How she seemed to be shying behind him like I was going to hurt her and he was going to protect her.

"D-Do you trust him more than me?" I asked, knowing I sounded hurt. But I already knew the answer. Titan howled in pain.

'Mate trusts a different male more than us?!'

I could see the pain and maybe a little regret in her eyes. "Look, she is just scared man, this made her more comfortable." Logan said to me, trying to help me. Instead of snapping at him like I wanted to so bad, I just shook my head.

"What am I doing wrong Bailey?" I tried not to whimper in front of another Alpha and Luna but I was finding it very difficult. "Please? I'm sorry. I'm so sorry for whatever I did. I don't want to lose you, please. I'll do better. I'll be better! Tell me what to do differently? Please? I'm so sorry Angel. I never meant to scare or hurt you. Please, I can't lose you!"

She finally seemed to make up her mind because she threw the blanket off of her and pushed past the two wolves. She ran towards to and jumped into my arms. I caught her with ease and held her as close as I could, burying my face in her neck and hair, breathing in her addicting scent.

"I'm sorry." I whispered into her hair. She shook her head.

"I'm sorry Nathan, I'm sorry for hurting you." I heard Titan sigh in pleasure as she hugged us tighter.

'This is better. This is right. Our mate is back into our arms again.' Titan smiled a wolfy smile in my head.

'Yup, this feels so right.'

Bailey hugged my tighter and relaxed under my touch again. I slowly forced myself to let her and go look at the other wolves in the room, but I kept my arm securely around her waist.

"Thank you, Alpha Logan and Luna Clarissa, for finding and taking care of my mate." I smiled down at Bailey, finally feeling whole again. Logan had his arm wrapped lovingly around Clarissa's shoulders and they also had bright smiles on their faces.

"It was our honor. Congratulations by the way, she is something special." Logan said. I felt my heart soar. I looked down to see her face hidden in my side with embarrassment but I could still see the smile and slight tint of pink on her face. We laughed at her actions.

"She sure is..." I whispered, looking down at her, all my feelings for her pouring out of me.

Hey guys! I know this is sort of a repeat of the last few chapters but I got the amazing idea of writing this scene in Nathan's POV from Afkgirlalways.

This chapter took forever for me to write! And it is way longer than the other ones! I already am a ways through the next chapter so I don't think you will have to wait too long. (Hopefully...) Anyways, I hope you guys liked it from Nathan's POV, I haven't really done it from his POV much before so this was sort of new for me but I hope I did ok.
