Hidalgo!
"Hidalgo! Stop! Whoa boy!!!!"
I screamed.
'Oh no I thought.'
I quickly put Corey and Louie back into the field, didn't even take the time to remove their halters.
I pulled Junior over to the side of the fence, got on his back, clenched his mane in my hands, and urged him on. He cantered down the path, past the ring, jumped over a log, and came to a holt at the barn doors.
I saw Ronnie.
"Hey Ripper-"
"Hi. Sorry, no time to talk, hand me that Saddle, and bridle. Hurry!"
I said.
"What happened?!"
Ron asked as I threw the saddle and saddle pad over Juniors back.
"Hidalgo's loose."
"Oh no."
I quickly tightened the girth, and Ron began to put Junior's bridle on.
"Thanks."
I said taking the rains.
"Should I come?"
Ron asked.
"Yeah, I'll go ahead, try and find him."
"Ok."
I ran out on foot holding the rains in one hand.
I put my left foot in the stirrup, and hoped on.
I kicked my horse-I was in a hurry.
"Go boy, go! Find Hidalgo!"
Junior raced down the path, and through the woods.
We eventually met up with Ron, who was on Louie.
"Let's go that way!"
He said pointing.
"Hey, figured you could use some help."
A new voice said.
It was Charlie.
He was on Max.
"Ok, every one keep your eyes open, and you guys might need these."
Ron said tossing the two of us a lasso, and a rope halter with a lead rope.
"Thanks."
I say kicking Junior and he gallops off.
"Yeah, thanks Ron."
Charlie said smiling.
He too cantered off.
"Ok Louie, go find Hidalgo!"
"He-ya!"🏴
