Rain on your parade
Midnight
Jungkook PoV
It's late. I can tell from the way the moonlight shines through our window, no need for a clock.
"Your hair looks crazy right now."
"That'll be the mint green."
Turning on my side I see both Yoongi and Hoseok spooning on the bed. They do it every night when they think I'm asleep. God knows why they try hide it from me, I could tell they were more than friends within my first hour of being here.
"Promise me she'll be nice?"
"I promise Yoongs. She won't be like the last shrink we had. She'll listen."
Wait we get a therapist? I mean that sounds about right considering we're the only looney tunes in this place.
Next morning
Jungkook PoV
"Alright basket case." The guard bangs on the door before opening it. "Time for your therapy."
Hunching over I pull my slippers on. They won't let you have shoe laces here incase you try and choke someone, or yourself for that matter.
"You know you're using that nickname incorrectly."
"No. I call you basket case because your brain wanders away with the fucking fairies."
"Yeah so you're using it wrong." I say before standing. Holding my wrists out I allow him to cuff me. "A basket case is regarded as useless or unable to cope. Maybe try out nut job or lunatic next time. Your choice really."
The guard smirks before tightening the cuffs. "You think you're smart kid?"
"Not at all. I just think my wandering brain is bigger than yours sir."
Flaring his nostrils the man steps aside.
"Why thank you." I nod before walking ahead.
So this so called "shrink" has apparently been working at this place for 5 years now. She's late 20's and funny according to Yoongi.
Hoseok said she has a free soul whatever that means.
When I step inside the room, I see a female figure with her back facing me. She turns around just as I take a seat. "And here's my number 3." She grins before doing the same. "How are you this morning?"
"Tired."
"Same here." She replies before nodding for the guard to shut the door. "So Jungkook I'll start off by introducing myself. My name is Rain, I'm 27 and I'm gonna be your psychiatrist for however long you remain at this place—."
As the girl babbles away I begin to analyse her appearance.
Hm. Short black hair with a blue feather extension clipped in. She has snake bites and a nose ring. Her ripped off the shoulder top exposes the strap of her lace bra strap, followed by the dragon tattoo that spreads across her shoulder.
"Why do you look like you just walked out of a hot topic in 2008?"
Surprisingly she laughs at my comment.
"Guessing goth isn't a style you like?" She asks.
"No it is." I answer and she looks at me surprised before smiling.
"Well...good. That's something we already have in common then. So—." She clicks her pen, about to write until my laughter stops her. "Something funny?" She asks.
"Yeah just this whole situation. I don't need therapy."
"Well, most people believe they don't need therapy when in fact—."
"No I really don't need any of this. I'm engaged to a psychiatrist."
2 minutes later
When I enter back into my cell I'm surprised to see it empty. Hoseok and Yoongi must be taking their outside time together. It's nothing special, you get granted 30 minutes a day to walk the prison grounds for some "fresh air".
Kicking my slippers off I go to lie down on my bed, ready to close my eyes when I hear the door rattling to unlock. I lift my head, surprised to see a guard letting Rain enter inside.
"Hey." She smiles.
"How did you get let in here?" I ask confused.
She shrugs her shoulders. "I told them it's better for us to do therapy in your cell."
"But I cancelled our sessions. I don't need therapy."
"I know." She pulls out a pack of cigarettes from her pocket. "But you're funny, and I'd rather spend an hour with someone who makes me laugh than sit on my own in the cafeteria."
I watch as she holds out the pack to me. "Care for one? I normally have roll ups but straights are all they sell at the corner shop near here."
"I don't smoke."
"Can't hack tobacco?" She smirks.
"No. I can't stand yellow fingernails and bad breath." My words cause her to pause when lighting her cig. Awkwardly she takes a drag, and I go back to lying down.
"I prefer being alone by the way."
"Well tough. Now you have company." She says, and I sigh when feeling the mattress dip from her weight.
Opening my eyes I see her puffing smoke from her lips. The stench is disgusting. I've never understood smokers. Blackening your lungs for the sake of having a cool reputation whilst young. With me it's just a quicker way of having a breathing pipe fitted into your throat.
"So what do you get up to in here?" Rain asks.
"Oh all sorts. Painting, watching movies playing board games."
"Sarcastic. I knew I liked you for a reason." She smirks.
Ignoring her I close my eyes again. It's not often that I get time to my self in here. I'm taking a nap whether she's here or not.
"So your fiancé must really miss you." She speaks, but I don't respond. "I bet it's hard being away from her at this specific time. A couple that's just gotten engaged would be fucking like rabbits by now. Don't you miss that?"
"Dumb question." I answer. When I hear Rain clear her throat I open my eyes, and they widen from the site of her now standing in nothing but her underwear.
"What the fuck are you doing?!"
"Helping to make your time in here go quick." She says so casually. When she reaches to tie her hair up I notice the flower tattoo near her ribs that poke out slightly. God her ink is insane.
"Jungkook I read your files. You need sex to function. So come on." Taking a seat on Hoseoks bed she spreads her legs open. "Do everything you're thinking of doing to me."
"Alright." I chuck her pants back at her which results in her raising a brow.
"I know that's not what you really wanna do."
"You don't wanna know what I really wanna do." I scoff a laugh.
"I think I do."
Poking my tongue inside my cheek I hold back the urge to floor the girl. How dare she assume I'd dishonour Y/n like that. How dare she even think she has a chance at tempting me.
"Come on number 3." She tuts. "Why act like you're already married. Why not have one last wild fuck?"
My eyes flick to hers. "Put your clothes back on tramp. You're not my type."
"Thought you liked gothic girls?"
"Yeah well I like the awkward ones more. Now do me a favour and get out of my cell, the smell of smoke is knocking me more sick than the thought of putting my dick anywhere near you."
Y/n PoV
"So I've heard back from the jury team. Everyone's jumping at the chance to be involved in this case."
"That's good right?" I question Namjoon, and he just smiles whilst writing notes.
"Yes and no. Don't forget Y/n, this case has been reported on the news for the past few weeks. It would be weird if people showed a lack of interest."
"Oh..."
"But none the less. It's always good to have an eager jury."
I lightly smile and before I know it I'm messing with the ring on my finger. With these meetings in the past I'd always race to Jungkook afterwards and tell him the plan, a beaming smile on my face as I babble about how confident I am.
"So? I'll see you tomorrow to run through your statement yes?"
"Course." I smile, but the moment I leave Namjoons office it drops and displays the expression I'd been desperate to hide for the last hour. Every morning I wake up and see the news regarding Jungkooks case, it makes me feel sick to my stomach. Everyone knows about him now and that's scary to me. At least at the beginning it was a situation that involved only a few of us, but the fact that his fate now depends on the publics choice feels strange.
I don't know if it's the extra shifts I've taken at work or the fact that I've been struggling to sleep, but I'm so exhausted today. I'm not even sure I took in half the information Namjoon was giving me.
"Hey loser." Jimins warm smile disappears when seeing me. "You alright? What's with the long face."
"I miss him." I say. Hearing the shakiness in my voice leads the male to pulling me in for a hug, his hand pushing the back of my head so I'd lean into him more. "Thank you for always being there for me Chim. I'd fall apart without you right now."
"You don't need to thank me for being a friend."
"Then I'll thank you for being a great one." I hug him tighter and he chuckles.
"Wanna come to my place tonight? We can talk more about this."
"I can't I have work."
"Well call in sick. I'm sure they can survive without one cocktail waitress for the night."
Exhaling a breath I think about it. To be honest work is mainly a distraction at the minute, a time I use to take my mind off of everything. But I suppose being with Jimin would be a dinner way to do so.
"Okay." I smile.
"Great. If you want you can pick the music on the drive there, but none of that Evanesence crap, if I wanna feel emo I'll go to hot topic."
