Bonus chapter 3

"Okay and now we need the candles where are the candles??"
"Y/n—."
"You've seen the candles right?? A sparkly blue 2 and 4–."
"Okay. Move." Pushing the girl aside, Jin takes over the cake station, or, more so a kitchen island covered in flour, broken egg shells and one very questionable looking cake.
"Thought you said you were a good cook?" He laughs, and Y/n simply slumps down in her chair defeated. "I am normally. But I've got so much planned today that my brain feels like one of those egg shells. Jungkooks birthday is starting to feel like Christmas, halloween and Easter all rolled into one."
Smiling to himself, Jin simply begins to make a new batch of cake batter. "Here's an idea. Why don't you cut back a bit?"
"On what?"
"Well instead of inviting all those parents from Lia and Nini's class. Which by the way I think is ermm—."
"I know it's a shit idea. But if I don't invite them then it's just you, me, Chim and the girls here to celebrate kooks birthday and I want him to have a big party for once. He's never had that before."
"Yeah but I actually think he'd prefer something small. Just his family together to have a takeaway or something."
"Yeah...maybe you're right."
"Relax it's all gonna be fine. And I know he's gonna love your gift."
At the males smirk Y/n becomes all shy and giddy. "I am quite proud of it." She says.
"Do you have everything to take with you?"
"Yeah I packed our bags last night. And a few other surprises too—."
"MOMMY MOMMY CAN NINI SLEEP OVER TONIGHT!?"
Both friends turn to see their daughters now standing by the door, hand in hand.
"Actually Lia, after your daddy's had some cake and opened his presents, you're gonna be staying at uncle Jin's tonight—."
Before Y/n could finish speaking, both Lia and Nini's excited squeals over power her voice.
The scene brings a smile to Jins face. He could just imagine Jisoo doing something silly like joining in with them, going the extra mile by stomping her feet and flailing her arms around all giddy.

"Jimin is this really necessary?"
"Yes now shut up and keep walking." The red head instructs, trying his best to keep his hands covering Jungkooks eyes, the height difference adding to the challenge.
When the two reach inside the house, Jungkooks immediately startled from the party poppers and overly excited cheers.

Once Jimin removed his hands I'm greeted by my wife with a tight hug, Lia doing the same by latching onto my leg.
I've only been at the gym for an hour and they've managed to decorate this place amazingly.
"Happy birthday buddy." Jin smiles before handing me a present, but it's a little difficult to take due to the two extra humans stuck to me.
"Alright alright let's give him some room shall we." Jimin laughs before picking Lia up. Y/n let's go of me, but whilst the others head to the living room I pull her back by the hand causing her face to stop closely near mine.
"Am I wrong in thinking you have flour on your nose?" I ask. With a laugh Y/n hurries to wipe it from her face, and I help by pulling an egg shell out of her hair.
"God I'm sorry. I bet you were hoping for a sexy wife when you walked through that door today."
"You're always sexy to me." I say, and I'm surprised to hear her just groan in frustration.
"Ughh it's not fair though. I get gifted with your sexinesses everyday, the least I could have done is scrubbed up well for your birthday."
Now smirking I step closer to my wife. "Everyday huh?"
"Oh yeah." She nods like it's obvious. "Like yesterday when you were out in the garden building Lias play house, you looked all hot and sweaty in your tank top that I actually pulled a chair up just to watch you. In fact so did our neighbour next door."
"Mrs Lou?"
"Yeah!"
"But she's married isn't she? To a woman??"
"Jeon lemme tell you something." Taking me by surprise, Y/n lifts my gym shirt up. "This body." She then cups hold of my cheeks. "Combined with this face. Is powerful enough to make anyone question their sexuality."
Damn.
I can't remember the last time she was this into me..
"Daddy come open your presents!!"
"Yeah daddy come open your presents!"
I sigh over Jimins imitation of Lia.

"Okay everyone." Jin smiles before gesturing towards the door with his hands. "The girls have prepared a special birthday performance for this afternoon. So. Can we give a warm welcome. To Lia and Niniiii."
I laugh over Y/n's excited clapping. The mother in her takes over sometimes.
As we all sit ready to watch, confusion hits when only Nini skips through. Even she looks confused over Lia's absence.
"Shall I go find her—."
"No I'll go." I interrupt Y/n and get up.
To no surprise I find my daughter in her own room. Book in hand. All cosied up in the corner.
"Any good?" I ask, but she doesn't reply, her sad little expression remaining on her face.
"I've never been a big fan of reading myself. That's always been your mothers passion." I smile before taking a seat next to her. "You both even have the same concentration look. That's when I know not to interrupt you. However today is my birthday so go on kid, tell what you're reading this time—." I take hold of the book, and I'm surprised to see a nearly blank page with a scribbled paragraph in the top corner.
"I didn't wanna do the dance appa. Not in front of everyone."
At Lia's words I turn to her. "Yeah well...doesn't really sound like your kinda thing anyway—."
"So I wrote you a poem instead."
When my little girl looks at me, my lips curve to a smile. "Now poetry? Well that's got Jeon Lia written all over it."
"Do you want me to read it to you?" She asks, and I simply let her take the book from me.
She takes a breath in, calming her little nerves before placing her finger near the title.
"My safe place."
"Crying.
The crying never stops.
Not until I'm in my safe place."
"Nightmares.
The nightmares never stop.
Not until I'm in my safe place."
"Scared. Sad. Worried.
All of that disappears when I'm in my safe place."
"Unlike others.
My safe place has no doors. No windows. No table or chairs to sit on."
"But a pair of arms to hold me."
"A heart to love me."
"And a braveness to protect me."
"Appa is my safe place.
And I never want to leave."
Finishing her last sentence, Lia looks up at me with her big eyes. I say nothing, and simply push the back of her head to come closer to me. "You're amazing kid. Know that?"
"Happy birthday appa."
I bring her even closer and engulf her tiny body in a hug.
At just 4 years old she's writing poetry. And not just some lady bird meets caterpillar crap.
Expressive poetry.
I already know where she gets it from :)
"Appa."
"Yeah kid?"
"Since you liked my poem. Does this mean I can have the biggest slice of birthday cake?"
