Chapter 2 : Out like a light

I woke up and groaned, an idiotic decision to open my eyes immediately in the dim light, causing a shooting pain through exhausted eyes.

The restraints around my hands that were clearly evident by the marks on my wrist were gone, suggesting I had been out like a light for sometime.

I examined the room, consuming every micro detail. It was very large, a small section around the corner was pitch black and no light would seek to reach it.

Attention peaked at a specific tall mahogany cupboard that stood at the back of the basement, engraved with odd symbols and looking the slightest bit damaged, as if it was accessed regularly.

Ominous.

Just as I slowly edged forward for further investigation, the entering door of the staircase swung open on obnoxious rusted hinges. Lilly slowly walked down each stair, smirk etched on her features.

I admittedly was petrified, but I stood my ground, my confidence growing and shrinking simultaneously each second despite my mind pleading with me to please let's just go back to sleep please!-

"Hello Cassie"

"Stay the hell away from me!" I hissed harshly, voice unwavering despite my fear. Wordlessly, she made some sort of strange hand gesture and Bonnie was hurled down the staircase with a yelp.

"Bonnie!" I cried, crawling to the bottom of the staircase.

I found it daunting how someone could pick up a golden retriever that easily and then proceed to have the audacity to throw it, but I wasn't exactly going to ask them.

"Stay away!" I warned again.

"Temper temper little Cassie!" She mocked, baiting me to try something, anything.

"Just let me out, let us out. Please" I resorted as I pleaded desperately.

"Not a chance, but cute for trying!" She growled back.

'Probably a long shot.'

She turned and was handed a tray, throwing the tray of stale food at my feet slowly and began ascending the stairs like a self righteous little b!t-

It crashed onto the floor loudly and harshly, irritating my severe headache further, and the thing on it that couldn't even really be described as food fell on the ground.

My gaze shifted away from the tray and over to the cupboard.

"Don't touch it, mutt" She snarled, standing as she was about to close the door.

"Are you going to stop me?" I questioned angrily, swinging around in my defiance.

She walked back down the stairs slowly, purposely taking her time with thar wide spine tingling smirk on her face that made her victims want to curl into a ball and die. I backed up a little as she walks slowly up and opens the cupboard. It was full of knives and crowbars and other weapons that I could only imagine are seen in nightmares.

I cannot help but sprint to the other side of the room, backing up against the filthy wall.

"You like my toys?" She questioned with her creepy smile growing impossibly wider. "You'll get to meet them all close and personal!"

"You're sick, absolutely sick" I snapped.

A ferocious glare at me and she storms back up the stairs hastily, as if she had somewhere to be. Unlikely.

"Yeah you do that, coward" I hissed quietly.

I turned my head sharply as I hear a noise come from around the dark corner, what seemed like muffled screams could be heard and please God get me out of here-

I back away and sit on the last stair, carefully but cautiously watching the corner before scrambling to beside the cupboard at a another sound. A grey flashlight sat there and I turn it on, shining it towards the corner slowly, my hand trembling from pure unadulterated fear.

Something definitely moves under the light.

"What the sh!t!" I yelped. I began to hyperventilate, chest constricting as I bring my knees to my chest and lean my head on them, trying to breathe, with Bonnie closely beside me. The door swings open once more and my stomach lurches.

"I have another toy for you-"

I shuddered severely.

"-here mutt, make use of this." She placed an old camcorder beside me. I was too focused on remaining calm to react. "You're not alone down here so...I'd start making some memories before you're too late, doll." She stomps upstairs after I failed to respond to her taunts.

Eyes trailed to the camera.

"This kid is sadistic" I murmured. Despite burning fear, I need to know what was here with me. I rise to my feet, torch in hand. "H-Hello? Who's there?" I flinched violently when a muffled yell was within earshot.

"H-H-Help!"
