3 months later.

“Wake up, sleeping beauty,” I hear someone say. I groan in response and turn to my other side on the bed, ready to go back to sleep. “Come on, babe, time to wake up,” And this time I recognize the voice. “Babe, its noon, and we have to go to your house to pick up some of your stuff.”

I groan again. “Go away, Niall.”

Niall chuckles. “Bree, I’m serious. Clodagh and Paul will be leaving soon and you forgot your key. We have to go,” He explains.

 I sigh, and turn to my side, finally facing him. “I hate you,” I say.

He smiles. “Not for long,” He replies, bringing his lips down to mine, giving me a kiss. I kiss him back immediately, closing my eyes and pulling his face closer to mine. “Babe,” He says in between a kiss. “We will have time,” He continues. “For this later,” He finally says, planting one more kiss on my lips. “But right now we really have to go.”

“Ugh, fine,” I say. Niall chuckles and takes my hand, helping me up. I put on my shoes and walk to the bathroom. After I do my business, I wash my hands and my face, tying my hair up in a messy ponytail. I look at my reflection in the mirror and smile to myself. It is obvious that I am happier now after all this time.

“Ready?” Niall asks as I get in the passenger seat on his car. Oh yeah, did I mention that Niall finally got his license? Well, he did.

I nod. “Ready,” I reply, as he starts the gas.

Tour is finally over, meaning that we’re back in London, and Niall and I’s relationship has been growing stronger after that fight we had. The boys are now working on their third album, and they get pretty busy sometimes, but we always find time to hang out. Like yesterday, when we had a movie night. It got pretty late though, so I decided to stay with Niall instead of him driving me home. Clodagh is finally having her baby, and Uncle Paul couldn’t be any happier. Both of them are extremely happy and excited, they even get everyone else excited. They are both leaving to the hospital today and they’re going to stay there until the baby is born and the doctor tells them they’re ready to leave. I didn’t want to stay in that big house all by myself, so I asked Niall if I could stay with him a few days and, of course, he gladly accepted. This is why Niall and I are driving home. I need to get some of my stuff for these next few days. I also wanted to see Uncle Paul and Clodagh one last time before they left.

“Hey! Come on in, guys,” Uncle Paul says once he opens the door and sees Niall and I standing there.

“Hi,” I say giving him a hug. “We just came to get my stuff,” I explain as I pull away. “I’ll be right back,” I say to Niall as I make my way upstairs. I grab a small bag and pack it with clothes and my toiletries. Once I have everything, I go back downstairs only to find Niall, Uncle Paul and Clodagh sitting in the living room having a chat. I put my bag on one of the sofas and go towards Clodagh to say hello. After talking for a while, we realized that it was time to go.

“Are you sure you’re going to be fine?” Uncle Paul asks me.

I roll my eyes playfully. “Yes,” I say. “It’s not like I haven’t done this before,” I reply.

“Don’t worry, Paul, I’ll take good care of her,” Niall says, wrapping his arm around my waist.

“You better,” He says, patting his back. “Alright guys, have fun and we’ll call if anything,” He says.

“Good luck,” I say. “Let us know when we can visit,” I add.

“Will do,” Clodagh says. “Bye guys, please lock the doors when you head out.”

“Will do,” Niall replies, mocking her, which makes Clodagh laughs. After a few hugs and kisses, Uncle Paul and Clodagh are out the door. “You have everything, babe?” Niall asks.

I nod. “I’m ready,” I say, grabbing my bag. We head out the door and make sure it’s well locked before we go.

The day passed by quite fast. Niall and I spent all day in his flat. We had lunch and then we took a shower. Separately, of course. We watched movies and spent all day just relaxing.

“What are you thinking about?” Niall asks as we cuddle, not really paying attention to the movie that was now on. We were sitting on the couch, the lights were off, but we still could see each other thanks to the light on the T.V.

I smile. “Everything,” I reply, looking at him. He smiles back at me and leans down, his lips soon meeting mine in a sweet, caring kiss.

“What?” Niall chuckles as I laugh into the kiss.

I shake my head. “This reminds me too much of our first date,” I tell him. 

He smiles. “You’re right,” he says, chuckling later. “A little reminder is never bad though,” He adds.

“Wow, I can’t believe we’ve been together for so long,” I say.

He shrugs. “It feels like longer, doesn’t it?” He says. And I just nod. “So many things have happened since,” He adds.

“So many,” I agree. “I can’t believe it’s going to be almost one year since my family passed away,” I say, and I can feel Niall hugging me tighter. “They would’ve liked you so much,” I say, hugging him back. I wait for the tears to come, but they never do. I’m finally over all this. Of course I still miss my family, but I don’t get as sad as before. I don’t feel miserable anymore. And that’s because I have someone here with me. I have someone that loves me and showed me that it does get better. They say time heals everything, but I’m sure he was the one who healed me. He saved me.

“And I’m sure I would’ve like them,” Niall says.

“Thank you,” I say after a moment of silence.

“Why?” He asks, frowning.

“Because you saved me,” I say.

Niall smiles at me and soon connect his lips to mine in a passionate kiss. “I love you, you know that, right?” He says once we pull away.

I nod as I return the smile. “I love you, too,” I reply, kissing his lips once again.
