Niall’s POV
Having Bree here with me is one of the best feelings I could get. Her presence makes me happier and I love just the way she is. She’s funny, intelligent, and she has an amazing personality. Most guys will just notice a girl by her body and for them there is just two ways to judge girls. Hot or not. Well, I’m not like those guys and I think it’s stupid to treat girls like that. I’m hoping Bree sees how I really am and how much I’m starting to care about her.
Halfway through the movie, the food arrives. Since I love any type of food I let her choose so we decided on sushi which I learnt that is something we both really love. After I paid for the food, which took a while since Bree wanted to give me some of her money, we arranged everything in the coffee table in front of my sofa. After getting some drinks from the kitchen, we sit on the floor and get comfortable and ready to eat.
“Ready?” I ask before playing the movie. She nods and that’s when I press play. The movie ends 30 minutes later and when the credits are scrolling down the screen I turn to look at her. I laugh when I see her with her mouth full because she was still eating some of the leftovers. She smiles and starts blushing, but I love that I still made her laugh. “You really like sushi, huh?”
She nods and then she swallows the roll that she had in her mouth. “It’s my favorite food,” she replies, still giggling. “Sorry, that was embarrassing.”
“It’s fine,” I say, chuckling, scooting closer to her, and wrapping my arm around her shoulder. Sometimes I wonder what she think of all this. Am I moving too fast? Or is everything just fine? I don’t want to give her a bad impression, but I can’t help myself. It’s like being close to her is a necessity, just like breathing. Maybe I am moving too fast, so I remove my arm from around her shoulder and turn to look at the T.V.
“Is everything okay?” she asks.
“Yeah, why?” I ask, not even looking at her.
“Well, all of a sudden you stopped hugging me,” she says, and just then I realize how honest she is. It took a while for me to reply because I was thinking what to say, but she let out a sigh and stood up, gathering everything on the coffee table and taking it to the kitchen. No, I will not mess this up.
I stood up and took some things from the coffee table as well and followed her to the kitchen. We threw away what was trash and washed some dishes that we had used, and after putting everything back in place she turned to look at me. She was leaning on the counter and I thought this was a good time to tell her what I was thinking a few minutes before. “Sorry,” I started.
“For what?” she asks.
“For acting weird all of a sudden,” I reply. “Look, I want to be honest with you.”
“Then be,” she replies.
I walk closer to her and take her hands in mine. “I like you. A lot,” I start. “And I really don’t want to mess up whatever this is. I was never good at keeping relationships; heck I don’t even know how to start talking to a girl. A few moments ago I was thinking if this was okay with you or if I was moving too fast, so that’s why I stopped hugging you. God, this sounded less stupid in my head.” And before I could keep on talking, she did.
“Niall, its fine. I get that you have your insecurities, we all do, but believe me when I say that you’re perfect just the way you are. You don’t have to be insecure about anything, I mean, you’re in One Direction, and you have millions of girls swooning over you. You don’t have to be insecure about anything,” she says, pushing my hair back as she says the last part. “I really like you, too and everything about this date is going just fine, perfect I would even say. You’re not moving too fast and you don’t have to be afraid of showing what you feel, at least not with me.”
And as she finishes, a big smile appears on my face. “You’re amazing,” I say, kissing her forehead and pulling her in for a hug.
“No, you’re amazing,” she says, hugging me tighter.
After pulling away, we walk back to the living room and get ready for another movie. This time we’re going to watch Transformers, and I love how she loves all types of movies. We’re still cuddling and halfway through the movie I look down at her. She’s so into the movie and I love how her face expression change as each scene does too. I find it so adorable.
The lights are off, so the light on the telly is the only thing that allows me to see her face better. Her beautiful eyes are shining with the light from the tellyand her pink lips are parted as she is amazed by what’s happening in the movie. I smile and lean down to kiss her head, just by that it seems like I’ve interrupted everything she had going on between the movie and her because she turns to look at me. I smile at her and she returns it gladly, and in that moment I can’t look anywhere but her lips and her eyes. All I want to do is… kiss her.
And that’s what I do.
I lean down slowly, our foreheads touching slightly. My eyes go up and down looking at her lips and then back up to her eyes. She starts leaning in closer and my heart skips a beat as she does. Her eyes start closing and mine too and before I know it, our lips meet. I’m kissing her, I’m finally kissing her and she’s kissing back. There hasn’t been another thought that made me happier. Our lips are moving in sync and the more we kiss, the more heated it becomes. One of her hand goes to the back of my neck, pulling me closer as if that was possible. My hand is resting on her waist and the other one on her cheek, caressing it lightly with my thumb. After a while of kissing, we finally pull away but only because she starts giggling.
“What?” I ask smiling.
She shakes her head, still smiling. “If someone had told me that I would kiss you I would probably slap them and thought they were crazy,” she explains, making me laugh at how random she can be.
“You’re so random,” I say chuckling, leaning down and planting a soft peck on her lips.
“Maybe, but you like me that way,” she says.
“True,” I reply, making her giggle. She leans up and kisses me again, and like that we forget about the movie. Maybe she really likes me the way I do and that makes me extremely happy. All this time, I’ve been waiting for the right girl to come, just as I said a million times, and this time I think the right girl just came.
After kissing for a while we pay attention to the movie again, but by now it’s already ending. From the corner of my eye I can see Bree looking at the time in her cell phone and she lets out a big sigh. I want to ask her what’s wrong, but I’m interrupted by her hugging me.
“You okay?” I ask, and she shakes her head. “What’s wrong?” I ask.
“I don’t want to leave,” she replies.
And I chuckle because I thought it was something more serious. “Do you have a curfew?” I ask.
She shrugs. “I don’t even know, but it’s late. It’s almost 12:30.”
“Well, if Paul didn’t say anything we can wait a little longer. Andy is here all night, so he can drive us back to your house later,” I explain.
“Are you sure? I mean, I don’t want to bother Andy,” she says.
“Its fine, trust me. If you want to stay for a little while you can,” and she smiles.
“Okay,” she says and like that, another hour goes by quickly. When we check the time again it’s already 1:30 am so we decided that it was time to get her home. She gathers all her things and after putting on our shoes we walk downstairs, Andy already waiting for us in the parking lot since I had texted him. Luckily he was still awake. Man, I need to get my permit.
We get inside the car and it’s a silence drive back to Bree’s house. Her head is on my shoulder and we’re holding hands, just like any other car ride we’ve been in. When we get to her house, we both get down and I wait for her to open the door with the keys that Paul had given her.
“Well, thanks for everything. I had a great night, Niall,” she says once the door is open. I look inside the house and everything is dark, so I chuckle when I hear her whispering.
“You’re very welcome, Bree. I had fun as well,” I reply. “We should do it again,” I suggest and big smile appears on her lips.
She giggles. “I would love to do it again,” she says, and she doesn’t move when I get closer to her. We are on the stairs that are on the entrance and she’s in one higher than me, making her taller. I rest my hands on her waist and pull her closer, slightly.
“Have a goodnight, Bree,” I say.
“Goodnight, Niall,” she replies, and this time she’s the one that moves closer, putting her arms around my neck. We lean in, our foreheads slightly touching, just like a few hours ago. Her eyes close and mine too and again that day, our lips meet.
And just like before, it’s perfect.
