Chapter 10 (Already?)
Tina's POV
Chaos is what meets my, now widened with horror, eyes. Only 5 people are in science room 6 - there were three I didn't know with their back to me and another other two who were facing me. Now, those two I recognized. Darren and Jayden. And, by the looks of things, they were in trouble. Let me describe their appearances to you and you'll understand.
Jayden : Cuts and bruises cover his face and arms, with one long slash across his face, starting from just above his right eyebrow and ending just below his jawline on the left side. He was staggering and Darren was half holding him up and he seemed like he was about to fall down to the ground, unconcious or dead I didn't know. He looked like he would wish death upon himself right now rather than what he was going through. However, I, telepathically, urged him to keep going. I think he actually heard my voice in his head as he looked confused for a second. However, he then had to dodge an attack and couldn't think anything more on it. So, I tried again, this time trying harder, knowing he would hear me,
'Keep going, I'm here don't worry. It will all be over soon.' I thought-spoke to him. This time, instead of looking confused, he looked straight past the guys he was fighting right to where I was standing with a look of relief on his face. Only for a split second though, and he started fighting again with an apparent new energy bursting through him. However I knew, with all the cuts and bruises he had recieved prior to this he still wouldn't be able to win this fight. Even with Darren. Which leads me to:
Darren : Cuts and bruises all over himself, too. Only, not as bad as Jayden's. He didn't appear to have knowledge of any of what had just happened between Jayden and I as he continued fighting.
I surveyed the scene, deciding how to go about this. Then I took no more than three steps forward - so I was right behind the 'bad guys' as I have now christened them - and pressed the outer two's pressure points on their shoulders. And, simple as that, they fell to the ground, unconscious. The one in the middle turned around - as I had expected him to - with an angry look on his face, but - before he even had a chance to see me I had punched him in the face, knocking him out, too.
I fell in to a daze after that, as I reassured Darren and Jayden, "You are safe now, you may rest for a short while." And, before I had even finished my sentence, they fell to the ground, too. But I think/hope they were just sleeping. Hang on, what? did I just say that in an american accent? What's that all about? I'll ask them when they re-awaken...
My mouth and voice started working of their own accord, saying a few more words which meant nothing to me, and the 'bad guys' disappeared. The words sounded someting like 'Hydruse Desperian Dria!' or something.
You know that feeling you get when you just can't remember something? That's what I have now. I closed my eyes and concentrated on the slowly unfolding memory and, at the same time, words popped in to my head. Words not dissimilar to the ones before. However this time there were other sentences here and there, like 'stir in the mushroom and leave to simmer for 18 minutes', it sounded like a cookbook... I started following the instructions. Have I explained about my feelings before? Well, if I haven't, my feeling are always right. And I had a strong feeling that this would work. I don't know why or how or what it would do, but, I figured, what harm could it do? Well, a lot, but ah well!
. . .
So, here I am half an hour later, with twenty minutes left of lunchtime, the potion-thing made and everything set up to follow the rest of the 'instructions' in my head. I turned back to the catastrophic scene, only now I took the time to see what the earlier events had turned this room in to. My mouth gaped open. Anything that could have been destroyed or broken or damaged or the like, had been. Chairs had had legs broken off of them. Tables were overturned. Windows were smashed, it was a wonder how nobody else had heard or seen something of this. Hell! There was even a hole in one of the outer walls!
I placed the flower pot thing I had been using to mix the potion together in - it was the only thing available that was either A. Big Enough or B. Not Broken, Damaged or Destroyed - knelt on the floor beside Darren and lifted his head on to my lap. I picked the potion/mixture-thing up and poured half of the deep purple coloured liquid in to his mouth. He began to stir in his sleep and murmured something incomprehensible then - after I had, slowly and carefully, lowered his head to the floor and stood - he pulled himself up in to a sitting position. I picked my way across the debris to where Jayden had fallen and repeated the process with the potion. I stood up, turned around and started too fall.
The last thing I felt was a pair of strong arms wrap around me, before the darkness enfolded my senses.
Darren's POV
Damn Phoenix! We weren't expecting the attack. We were last out of science and we were jumped by his cronies. We were holding good stead against them, we were winning. Until the hybrid himself turned up. Three to two are not very fair odds, especially when you're talking about magic and the supernatural. So, here we are now, Jayden with a huge cut across his face with various other cuts and bruises all over his body and me not in much better shape. I'm ashamed to say that there is only one person who can help us now, and that is a girl, she doesn't even believe us when we tell her she is supernatural! At least we don't think she did... Jayden suddenly has a new found energy within him, but it's too late. We're finished...
Suddenly, there's a movement behind Phoenix and his cronies. Then, there's a flash of red. A second after that and the two cronies fall down on either side of Phoenix. He turns around in anger, I know what it's like to be under that gaze and I felt sincerely sorry for whoever this was, but I had a pretty good idea whom it could be. However, before he had even turned around the person had punched him in the face and knocked him out. I then saw the person behind all of this, and them, and my suspicions were confirmed when I saw her, standing there in all her glory. Like a lioness protecting her family. "Your are safe now, you may rest for a short while." Woah! What happened to her British accent? Before I had time to mull it over though, I had fallen to the ground. It was like she had a spell over us, and whatever she told us to do we did.
. . .
When I woke up my head was in someone's lap and something was being poured down my throat. My immediate reaction was to panic. I tried to fight it, but all my muscles had gone to sleep and I couldn't move. The person moved my head off of their lap and stood up. I immediately felt the warmth that had greeted me when I woke leave me as they did. However, I could now move my limbs and I slowly sat up and opened my eyes. Stepping over the clutter in the trashed science classroom over to Jayden who was still asleep.
She knelt down beside him, tipped his head up - I couldn't help but notice the fact that she hadn't put his head in her lap - and poured a deep purple colored liquid down his throat, like she had done to me seconds ago. I also noticed that all my wounds and injuries and bruises had either disappeared or healed. I cleared up the classroom in 30 seconds, thanks to my super-human speed. Just as she finished, I finished. She got up and turned to me, then she started to fall. It was like it was in slow motion. You know like in those cartoons were one character knocks the really expensive vase over and another character dives to catch it before it hits the floor and smashes in to pieces? It was like that. She was the vase and I was the character trying to catch it. Thankfully I caught her just before she would have hit the floor.
I took a look at her sleeping face and a new feeling bubbled just beneath the surface within me. I had only felt it once before, but this was stronger. Sure I was afraid of losing her, but I can't go through my life being scared, plus, she can look after herself. Take a look at what she did today! She managed to beat three fully-trained supernaturals and she hasn't had one training session. When I thought about it she had many strong qualities to her, but I've yet to see the weak-er side of her. I will find it, and I will protect her. At any cost. For this feeling knocking on my door, which was once locked and barred, but was now wide open, is none other than the welcome feeling of.
Love.
