Diana’s POV

“What do you mean she cursed the original packs?!” I asked for the millionth time looking at my parents.

“Puddin Pop, we had no idea Keriana was part of a larger plan. Satan cursed her in hopes he can wipe out all supernaturals, although he’s a couple of centuries too late.” Father tried to reason. 

“So she was just a means to a loose end and she planned to be executed because the curse was within her?” I felt dizzy and to know all our children were in trouble was unacceptable. 

“Right, the packs and other supernaturals must be notified.” He sounded stressed and I called Skylar to spread the word. 

“Hello?” Skylar sounded out of breath and that could be because of training or intimate time with his mates, they go at it any time of day. 

“Skylar you need to be prepared, I don’t know specifics as Keriana’s body is still being examined but a curse was released on all supernaturals and you’re all in danger so please be on guard and aware.” I Sighed. What a mess my sister dearest has put us in. 

Skylar’s POV

We can never catch a break, even in death she’s making things complicated and I don’t know what to expect. I have my family to think about, a pack to protect, trainees for the assassination unit and a business to run. Why the hell can't life ever seem to go back to normal? I swear if this doesn’t end soon I’m killing every hunter and evil I see, including Satan himself. I’m going to blow a gasket ugh… fuck me sideways already. 

“Hey darlin’, what’s wrong you look stressed?” Connor came in rubbing my shoulders as I sat at my office desk. 

“I have bad news and you’re not going to like it.” I told him everything Diana had told me and I mind linked everyone that there would be a pack meeting in thirty minutes. 

After 15 minutes I rushed home to take a shower and have dinner with my mates then went over to the Arena. We decided since not many wolves who come here need to go through power training so we use it for judgment trails and the occasional wedding, but today we’re using it as the meeting grounds while the main auditorium is being renovated to house more members. 

I watched my son who just returned to the suite with Phil and my beautiful granddaughter, Emlie and saw his mood change the minute he stepped on stage. He had a serious look and not a single trace of worry on his face. He looks strong, him and Jaxon take pride in the pack and have done a wonderful job protecting everyone and making the tough but right decisions over the years. 

"Good afternoon everyone. I apologize for the sudden urgency of this meeting but my father had informed me of a phone call he received. It seems there is a curse that was released upon all supernaturals and there isn't a lot of details about it at the moment but, when I find out, you all will. Training will increase, patrols will triple and I want four of you doing a section of the lands, no one and I mean no one is to try to take on whatever or whomever shows up. You mind link me immediately and the warriors and protect yourselves, if you need to fight, of course defend yourselves but don't be a hero. I don't want to lose any of you. Get with my father and the assassination unit to set up training times and groups for patrol. We all have been through a lot over the years and we will get through this. You all are dismissed." He ended the meeting and everyone but the family left. I noticed Jake and Sawyer looked worried which is understandable but they look more worried than everyone else. 

"Dad, papa, are you both ok?" I asked, everyone looked at them and they sighed. 

"No, Collen left. He took a job out of the country." Jake answered. I was shocked.

"Why? His wedding is next week." Connor asked this time.

"Xavier, he found his mate when we were in L.A.. He told Collen and early the next morning Collen came back to his place, packed his bags and told us he was leaving to go do this job he was going to do after the wedding but he  couldn't stay, not knowing Xavier wasn't his any longer." Sawyer had tears falling as he said that. 

"So just like before, he leaves? We just got him back in our lives and he left again? Damnit. Where did he go?" I asked, pissed off that my brother in law just up and ran from his problems. We don't do that in this family and he needs a reminder of that.

"Not sure if he's in Italy or in the states, last I knew he was in Italy but the job is in the states and there so I'm not sure where he is exactly. Poor Xavier was so heartbroken and hurt by this. He didn't want to hurt Collen but we all knew and had warned them this could happen. If only Collen could find his mate, my son wouldn't be so miserable and alone." Jake sounded so defeated.

"As long as his wolf is dormant, he won't be able to. Any news on why that is yet Skylar?"  Jake asked and I shook my head.

"No, I have done all the research I could find on this and there isn't a reason why his wolf should be dormant. He is a healthy man, his wolf should be present but I have no idea why." I sighed, my stress level is through the roof right now. 

"I hope he will be ok, I don't like that he's alone, heartbroken and now, mateless. At least when he was with Xavier he formed a bond and was happy. I can't imagine how he feels." Brayan said and we all nodded.

"Oh and by the way, Xavier and his mate are going to be joining the pack. Well at least Xavier, his mate, well that's a little complicated. You see he ah whew um he ah…" Jake was having a hard time getting the words out.

"What is it daddy?" Connor asked.

"His mate used to be a hunter and tortured and killed the likes of, well us." He finally said and not a sound could be heard in the forest. 

"No fucking way are we allowing a killer in our home!" I yelled, having enough of the bullshit.

"Skylar, he isn't the same as he was before. He left that life a long time ago and has been living on his own, he has a grown son who is mated to a wolf. His son is Collens best friend, you know, Blake. If he was still a bad man do you think he would have raised a son as good a man as Blake is?" Sawyer said and damn his logic. These old men are wise even when I don't want to believe it.

"Doesn't matter at the moment, not with this curse and now suddenly he meets Xavier, their mates two weeks before the wedding? Seems fishy to me." I said looking at them. 

"They will be here in a few hours, Brayan already knew and since he is Alpha, there isn't anything we can do since he approved it." Jaxon said, speaking for the first time since the meeting.

"I can over power his word if I wanted to but, I won't. Not unless this hunter does something wrong and the second he does, he's done. We have been through to damn much over the years so don't expect me to just sit by and let this hunter ruin our lives. He already ruined Collens even if he didn't intentionally mean to do it." I stated, matter of factly.

After that we all went our own ways and I went to think alone, away from everyone so I went to the waterfall and sat on the rock above the water and looked down as the water flowed, it was peaceful and beautiful. I got my phone out and called Collen.

"Hey bud, I know you're probably ignoring all phone calls from us but I just found out what happened. I'm so sorry Collen. Just know I'm a phone call away if you want to talk. Please call me back so I know you're alive and well. I love you." I hung up and closed my eyes, relaxing listening to the water with a million thoughts of what is going on racing in my mind.

Walking in the pack house after being at the waterfall longer than I planned, I see a man with Xavier next to him and I about fell. 

"Titan?" I asked, looking at the man in front of me.

"Skylar?!" He said, surprised to see me, just as I was him.

"I never thought I would see you again." He said and I smiled, seeing him after so long standing here looking well.

"How do you two know each other?" Xavier asked. 

"I met him about six years ago, it was when I went to Washington for business and Titan owned a small diner and I ate there, every meal of every day I was there and we talked every time. Such a small world, isn't it?" I said and hugged my friend who I actually liked, even finding out he's a retired hunter.

"It's good to see you again. I didn't know you were a wolf, you must have hid it well." 

"I'm kinda the Alpha Prince so yea, I have to when I'm out of the pack territory. You never know who will attack." 

"Wow! That's pretty awesome. Now I'm not so nervous being here with at least one person I know. I'm sorry this is how we met again though. I never meant to hurt Collen, we never meant to. He just left before we could even talk. Xavier told me everything and I wanted to talk with Collen to tell him I won't stand in the way of them being together even if I have to share Xavier, I know they love one another and all Xavier wants is for Collen to be happy." 

"Collen is the type of person who will do anything to make the people in his life happy and if he leaves Xavier so you and him can be together, he will. I pray he won't be away long though, we all love him and want him back." Sawyer said and we all sat down, talking about Collen and the plans for this curse. I hope by the end, everyone will be happy and can live our lives in peace.
