Xavier POV 

Since we got back home from spending a week at the pack house, things have been insane. Work has been busy as usual though but Collen has been away on business for the past two weeks, he is meeting with a man who wants to open a chain of high end casinos all over the country and out of the country so Collen has been going to the states this man wants the casino to get ideas of how and where would be a good location and when he heard the man wanted to do one out of the country, Collen wasn't sure if he was going to take the job. It's a huge opportunity for him if he does but if he does, we'll have to put our wedding on hold which is in two weeks. 

Two weeks I'll be a married man. That night he asked me to marry him and we marked one another was the best night of my life since the day I met Collen. He is so much like his dad Jake, I see it all the time in things he does but he is also like his papa, his heart is pure and he will do anything to make the people in his life happy. 

When I met him, he was so lost and felt like he had no purpose in life. It took a long time for him to open up and let me in but eventually I broke through the walls he had around his heart and I'm so grateful he did. I will do my best to keep him happy for the rest of our lives no matter what. 

I know us marking one another is risky since neither of us had met our true mates but we're both twenty-seven, we're not getting any younger and the want to start a family is strong. If and when we meet our mates, I hope that they will accept that Collen and I are mated and will understand we love each other and I know I won't leave him, I hope he won't leave me if I meet my mate. His family had formed bonds so I'm sure if our mates accept us being together, we can form bonds with them, just like we did with each other. 

I just know Collen not having an active wolf has been hard on him, he won't ever be able to scent his mate out or feel the sparks, imprint on them and that's heartbreaking. If his mate has crossed paths with him, he would never know, his mate wouldn't have to hide his scent from Collen, there would be no point. The bond we formed yes it's like a mate bond but the sparks aren't that strong and he can't smell me like I can him, it's not as strong as I heard it should be but it's there, the sweet scent of vanilla and honey, a perfect combination of the man he is. I hope if his wolf awakens eventually, we'll feel those sparks even more and scent each other and feel weaker in the knees than we already do. 

I also think that's why I haven't gotten pregnant yet, his wolf spirit, since he's dormant, my body won't be able to form the parts I need to get pregnant, it's all in the venom of his bite. I have noticed my mark is even fading a little bit, I hadn't told Collen and he hasn't seen me since he hasn't been home but I know once he sees it, he's gonna be hurt. He can always remark me but will he want to keep doing that for the rest of our lives? I would for him in a heartbeat but it will be a constant reminder that he will not be able to keep a mark on me and our bond isn't as strong as it should be. 

"Hello?" I called out when I heard someone in the hall of my office, the door opened and in walked Sawyer with Jake.

"Well isn't this a nice surprise, hello."  I said getting up to hug them.

"Hi Xavier. We came to show you the perfect honeymoon spot since you said we could plan that for you both." Jake said, handing me a pile of brochures and a list of hotels and cabins.

"Asheville NC? Wow this place is beautiful." I said looking at a huge beautiful looking hotel, it looks more like a castle.

"It has everything you could want to do. It's got tons of privacy and lots of room, private pools, hot tubs, lawns. It can't been seen from the road and the outside, it has lights for nighttime along the outside of the building." Sawyer explained showing me the photos as he explained the hotel to me. 

"It's beautiful and definitely something we need. Thank you, I'm sure Collen will love it."

"Good! Are you about done with work? We want to take you to dinner." Sawyer said and I nodded. I turned my laptop off, grabbed my suit jacket and locked my office door after I turned the lights off and we walked out of the office, me shutting the door behind us.

"How long are you both in town?" 

"For the night, we got a room downtown. We have to be back tomorrow, Brayan's mate is scheduled for his c section tomorrow evening so we can't miss that." Jake said and I smile, happy for Brayan becoming a father after so many failed tries and miscarriages him and his mate, Phil have finally been able to make it to at least five months so they are doing a c section before anything happens to their little girl.

"I will make sure to call in a couple days to congratulate them. It's about time something good happens to them. I know I didn't like seeing them in pain so I can only imagine how relieved they feel. Also, I'm not having my future in laws staying at a hotel when there is plenty of room at the penthouse."

"I kinda wanted to have my way with him tonight, away from everyone." Jake said and Sawyer shook his head, smiling.

"We have soundproofed rooms so have at it. I won't hear a thing."

"Alright, we're staying with you" Sawyer said, he smiled and kissed Jake's cheek. After so many years, they are still so in love just like it was yesterday they met. 

"Alright. Let's go eat." We left the building and I got into my car and they followed me.

We went to a Mexican restaurant and talked about the wedding and the job Collen is on now. I miss him, I want him home. 

As we were leaving, a man walked in, a big muscular man who smelt of pine and cinnamon, strong smelling and I knew he was my mate. He is so damned hot and huge! He is tall, tan, has deep brown eyes and brown hair, he's beautiful. He locked eyes with me and I said the one word that will change all our lives.

"Mate."
