Collens tattoo ^^^ top

Adriel POV

It's been a couple of weeks since I started working for Collen and he is a very nice boss. He is always with one of the crews, on the phone, checking out other jobs and so on. I have not seen him in his office that much since I started here, I like that about him. I make good money so I opened a bank account and started saving over half of what I make each week. With my first check, I had tried to pay Collen back for the things I bought but he just took the money and put it in my toolbag when I wasn't paying attention so I didn't try again. I don't want him thinking I didn't appreciate what he did for me, what he still does. He had offered to have someone his family knows in town to look into my life to see where I actually came from and if I had a family. I heard back from the investigator once so far with no news as of yet but it's only been a few days so I wasn't surprised when I heard that.

I was a little nervous to be going to his home though but I called him and he gave me his address so I am on my way to his house. I noticed a guard at the gate and he asked me my name when I stopped. He went into a small shack with windows and about a minute later he came back out and the gate opened and I was let in. Driving up the path, I get this feeling like I have been here before or a place like this. When I got to the end of the path, I saw Collen waiting on a porch and he smiled, walking off the porch.

"Hey, I see you found the place ok." He greeted me when I opened my door and got out of my car.

"Hi, yes I did. This place is beautiful." I said looking around me.

"It's been in the family for hundreds of years. I'll take you on a tour later. Come on in, they don't bite too hard." He smiled and I followed him into a big beautiful home filled with a lot of laughter, kids running around playing and chatter. I smiled at my surroundings and again, I felt I had been here before, I don't know why. He leads me into a living room and I see a lot of men sitting down, some in the arms of others or on their laps, it's a cute thing to see.

"Hello, you must be Adriel, I'm Jake and this is my husband Sawyer, our son Connor and his husbands Skylar, Eric and Sam whom you had met while working together. Next to Sam is Alexander, Killian, Titan, and Xavier. The twins here are Callahan and Calder. I will introduce you to others as they come around, they are here somewhere." Jake introduced me to the very attractive men in the room and I felt like I was in heaven, they are all so beautiful.

"It's nice to meet you all. I'm Adriel but you know that. I'm a little nervous so excuse me if I say or do something uncomfortable." I said and everyone smiled at me, at the same time. Kinda creepy but they seem nice enough. If they are Collen's family, I'm sure they are. I sit down on a chair, facing some of the people in the room and sit back, watching them talk. I get looks once every few seconds from the twins, just like when I was at the school yesterday. I'm not comfortable with how they keep looking at me though.
"Can I help you guys? You keep looking at me for some reason and did the same yesterday at the school. Do I know you both? I ask because I have no memory of my past and with how you are looking at me is making me think you must know who I am." I asked them and everyone stopped talking and looked at them and me.

"No, it's just since we saw you yesterday, we sensed a very strong aura from you and your scent is unlike anything we have ever smelt. We don't think you are from this world, not with that aura and scent." One of them said and I couldn't help but laugh at them like they were freaking insane.

"That, that is some funny stuff, I am human, I don't know what you are even talking about, aura? You sound like you belong in a nuthouse." I said after I calmed down. Everyone looked at them and looked at me, back to them and no one said a word for a few minutes. It was getting a bit hot in the room with everyone looking at me so I cleared my throat and shook my head.

"Ok I get it, I'm the new guy around here so you gotta play a joke on me but, it isn't funny so please just stop looking at me like that. You can't possibly believe I am not a human being. Wouldn't I know if I weren't? I don't have any kind of powers, I can't fly like Superman or run fast like the Flash so please, don't try to figure it out because you would be wasting your time."

"Please forgive them, they haven't had their meds today." Collen said and sorta glared at them, causing the one to glare right back and the other to look down, biting his lip.

"Let's just forget about that and go see if we can't find something to do. I did tell you I would show you around so come on, let's go do that." Collen said and I stood up, excusing myself from the group and Killian walked with us but he went another direction as we went out the front door.

"I am sorry about the twins, I don't know what came over them. They don't seem to have a filter I guess."

"It was a little weird with what the one had said, I mean I think I do believe in other things out there because I have a couple of tattoos, one is a wolf with black fur and one red-eye and the other beside it is a white wolf with a blue eye, half their faces make one whole face and another of an angel, it's very unique, it is an orangish color with flames all around the upper body and the wings are a dark color, almost black but that could just be because it looks like it's on a battlefield. There has to be a reason why I have those tattoos even if I can't remember my life." After I described my tattoos, he stopped and turned to me.

"May I see them?" He asked and I lifted my shirt and turned around to show him the tattoos on my back, the wolf one on my left shoulder to my lower back and the angel, on my right shoulder to my lower back.

"Wow. Those are amazing, the detail is incredible." He said and I felt his finger tracing one at a time, causing goosebumps to form under his touch.

"Are you cold? I'm sorry, you can put your shirt back down." No, I was not cold, but he doesn't need to know that.

"They are really beautiful tattoos. It seems like the artist took their time and it looks like it would hurt in certain areas. I have a few myself, I'm sure you have seen my right arm, the one of the map, with the north star in the middle and the one on my left arm, it's Connor's name in old English. My brother is my hero, a lot has happened to him in his life and he is the strongest person I know so I got his name while I was living in L.A. When he asked me about it and I told him about it, he cried and the next day we went out together and he got one of my name on his arm. We may be almost two decades apart but we have always been close, he took care of me a lot when I was growing up. (A/N This part, he thinks it was Connor but it wasn't obviously but since no one remembers, it's Connor who he thinks took care of him when he was growing up, figured I would say this to help with any confusion when it was Adriel who was always there for Collen. Connor does have a tattoo but with the punishment, Collen thinks it's of his name but it's Connor's mate's names.) With our parent's jobs, it was him and me a lot so when I left, I wanted to do something to make it feel like he was with me. The map tattoo, it has always been like a guide to home, reminding me that I can always come back, no matter how long or far away from home I was."

"Wow, you seem like you have an old soul with how you think and speak about things at times. I wish I knew if I had a family and brother as great as yours. I don't like that I can't remember my life, it's like this empty feeling inside and it won't go away. When I arrived here, it felt like I have been here before but I know that's impossible but it was the feeling of comfort like I belonged here."

"Don't worry, we will find out if you have a family and where you are from, just be patient and in time you will know. I can't imagine not knowing who I am or where I come from, if I have a family out there, loved ones missing me. I know we're not your family but if you ever feel lonely, call me, we can meet up or you can come back here. My father's love having people over, my family is big so there is enough love to go around Adriel." The way he says my name causes butterflies in my belly. He smiled at me and we kept walking down the path that leads into the woods.

"Hey, those markings are on a tree in my backyard leading into the woods. The same ones." I said when I noticed a tree with the same markings.

"Oh, those are from Skylar and Connor. You must live in their old house. I didn't even think about that when I saw your address. They also went around and did the same to the buildings in town, they said it was leaving their mark on the town, being a part of the history. They lived in that house for a long time, I spent a lot of time there. Skylar had an awesome game room in the basement. When their kids got older they moved back here, to be closer to the family since their kids all went off to college or traveled except for one, he stayed around so they thought it was time to move and the house sat, it has been empty for about ten years now."

"Why has it been empty for so long? It's a beautiful home to be empty. Was the yard always open or was there a fence around it before?" I asked and we came to a stop. I looked ahead of me to see a wide-open field with a lot of wildlife.

"No, it was closed in before Skylar and his family moved in but over the years they took the fence down to make it open. They spent a lot of time in those woods so it was easier to take it down instead of walking all the way around. Also, I'm not really sure why it was empty for so long but it worked out well for you since you live there now."

"Tis is true, it does get lonely though living in that big house alone. I feel like I have not lived alone in so long until now. I want to remember my life but something is preventing me from doing so, I get feelings like I have done certain things or been to certain places, like here for example but I can't remember a thing. Maybe I should go see someone and see if there is anything that can be done to help me get my memory back. What do you think?"

"If that's what you want, go for it. I feel the same way at times like something is missing but I can't place what it is so I kind of understand how you feel. I also for most of my life felt like I had no place here but that feeling has changed since I moved back. I'm sure it will for you too, just don't rush it. Memory is a tricky thing and forcing yourself to remember could cause you to damage your memory even more." He looked at me and I swear with the look he gave me, as innocent as he looks, it felt like time stood still for me.

"I won't. I want to remember so you don't need to worry. Thank you for today, since I got here I honestly felt like I was alone but being here, with you, I don't feel that way." I said looking into his beautiful hazel eyes and he stepped closer, taking my hand in his and smiled.

"I will always be here for you, as whatever you want me to be to you." I felt the need and want to kiss him suddenly but I didn't, if he wanted to kiss me, I won't stop him but I won't be the one to cross that line because I don't know what he is thinking.

"We should get back, it's about dinner time and I don't know about you, but I'm hungry." He said and let my hand go, I didn't like that, I felt cold from the loss of his touch even if it was just holding my hand for a few seconds.

We went back to the house and we ate dinner, everyone asking me how I liked it in town and my job told me stories of their past and trouble Collen caused growing up. All in all, it was a good day and I'm really glad I was able to spend it with these nice people.
