Calder is such a hot head he’s so quick to judge and be brutally honest. Everything is moving so fast and I really don’t like it, I feel something bad is about to happen, I can feel it in my bones. Maybe I should go talk to Collen, he’s not telling everything and I’m going to talk to him even if it kills me. I get up and go into the house to try and find him, to talk to him. 

"Colly?" I heard a little girl's voice calling out and running past me so I followed her to see if she could lead me to him if that is who she is looking for. 

"What are you doing in the house? Your mates are outside, Killian just showed up and wants to meet you since he caught your scent." I heard from my right and I looked over to see Collen holding the little girl.

"I'm not concerned about them, I want to talk to you." I said and he kissed the girl's cheek and she giggled.

"Ok little miss Emilie, go find your papa and daddy, I'm gonna talk to this gentleman for a bit and I promise later I will read your bedtime story to you tonight, alright?" He said and she nodded her head, kissed his cheek and he put her down and she was off again.

"What do you want to talk to me about Callahan?" He asked, shocking me he could tell my brother and me apart.

"About what you said earlier. I have no idea what is going on with you and whomever, but we didn't know and didn't mean any harm." I said and he sighed.

"Come on, let's go to my cousin's office and talk." He turned and we walked up a set of stairs and down a hall and he opened the door with his thumb and we walked in. He sat on a recliner and I sat on the couch.

"Ok, you'll eventually learn this anyways so I'll tell you." I opened my mind so Calder could hear what Collen has to say so we both have a better understanding of the situation. Collen went on and told me everything that's happened and it is a sad tale. No wonder I see hurt in his eyes and a forced smile on his beautiful face.

"And Killian, before you both came into the picture we didn't spend much time together which isn't his fault, I work a lot and he had three others to share his time with and now it's five, I am only mated to Killian but each of them is mated to one another and I was starting to form a bond with Alexander but now, that seems like it's going to end. I was starting to fall for him too. He'll treat you right. He is a good man. Killian, he's a little crazy about sex but he's got a good heart." After he was done explaining, I had tears falling down my cheeks. He got up and wiped my face gently and smiled at me.

"Don't cry for me, my time will come. I believe I'll be ok one day so don't worry your pretty self too much about me, alright? Focus on school and have the life you dream of. I love my work and you will to if you do something you're passionate about. You can tell your brother I won't be in your way when it comes to Alexander, I promise."  He looked genuinely content but I don't think I'm gonna believe that look so quickly but I nodded and he smiled and sat beside me.

"I'm used to living in the shadows of everyone, with having no Alpha wolf and since my brother became an omega, I got passed over to take over the pack when I turned of age so I went away to go to college and have a life, people think I left because I wanted to search for my mate which is partly true, I left also because I felt I had no place here, just living here with no real purpose so others in my life being mates with someone else, I'll get used to that also. It's just how my life is and it seems it will always be like this."  

“I’ll share a secret with you that only Calder knows. I have powers of the sun and all things light while he is darkness and the moon. Anyway, I know you’re under a spell and there’s a way to wake it, that’s not me trying to tease you or give you false hope but being born in the morning has given me the gift of ‘The Awakening’ it’s not really special and it’s not going to break the spell but until then, I can share my gift with you.” I hold his hand in hope of giving him the light he needs to hold on until this whatever it is can be undone.

“I also have this for you.” I gave him a golden box and smile as he opens the box. 

"It's beautiful but, what is it? Also, I'm under a spell? Are you sure? Skylar wasn't even able to notice and he has a ton of powers." He asked and I took the amulet from his hands and stood up, placed it around his neck and touched his chest.

"It's an amulet, it gives you a temporary feeling of your wolf, you will be able to know what it feels like to have one and be able to speak to him. It only lasts until sundown, every day. Unfortunately, though, you won't be able to scent your mate, there is a limit to my powers no matter how much I want you to be able to find your mate, Collen. Also yes, I'm sure you are spelled. I don't know what kind exactly or when it happened but that is why you don't feel him, once it's broken, he will be a part of you fully." 

"Thank you! You have no idea how much this means to me. You just helped me in ways no one else has been able to and I don't know how to thank you." He said and hugged me. I hugged him back, he's very soft. 

"The only thing you need to do to repay me is being happy, with your mate when you find them, besides Killian of course." 

"I will. You can count on that Callahan." He smiled and I heard my brother cussing in my mind, him not liking that I'm so close to Collen when we have our own mates but I couldn't just let this man in front of me be in pain much longer, I will help figure out what kind of spell he's under and we'll break it so he can live the life he deserves. 

"Killian just asked if you were wanting to meet him yet." Collen asked and backed up from me a little bit.

"Well, I suppose I should since I've been here with you for the past hour and it's getting late, got class in the morning so we need to get home soon. May I have your phone number, I'd like to keep in touch with you even if it's not about the spell, just to be friends if you're ok with that." He went to the desk and wrote on a piece of paper and handed it to me.

"My personal and business numbers, also my email." 

"Thanks. I'm sure I'll see you soon and I'll text you tomorrow. It really is nice to meet you and nice talking to you Collen. Have a good evening and don't work too hard." I said and being daring I kissed his cheek and walked out of the office. 

I follow suit and walk out and see Calder waiting and I get tackled to the ground and stare into the person’s eyes and damn he was so hot. Too bad for him I don’t sex until I’m marked first.

“Hey, sexy beast.” He growled and I would be lying if I said I didn’t find that sexy but I’m growing weaker by the second and need to sleep.

“Sorry for his idiocy.” Calder said pulling me up and I help up who I can only assume was Killian, he smells like Collen and a mixture of his own scent of rosewood and cinnamon. 

“Not a problem, Sorry to keep y’all hostage.” We nod and Calder picks me up bridal style and we drive to campus. 

“I gave you more than thirty minutes, now look at you. You know if you don’t go to sleep before the moon rises you’re fucked. Not only are you out exposed to moonlight but you don’t have moon block on to protect your skin. I swear one day you’ll die from not knowing your body. If the moon rises by six, you need to be indoors by at least five.” He tosses me my moon block and a hoodie and we part ways as I go to bed he’ll probably work out or something. 

The next morning we wake and get ready for class. I told my twin about the spell on Collen and he had agreed to help, even if he dislikes Collen for having a thing with Alexander. He'll get over it. 

"If it were me, would you want people to help in setting me free in a sense so I can live a happy life, no matter who is involved or who was involved with someone they were mated to? I get that you aren't a fan of Collen’s but we can't hold that against him, it's not like he was with Alexander knowing about us. He is just trying to find his place, we know what that is like." I said to my stubborn brother and I guess my words held something in them because he nodded and sighed.

"I hate it when you're right. Fine, I'll give him a chance but if he so much as looks at Alexander in a flirty way, I'm knocking him out. I will help with this spell so you don't have to do it all alone."

"Oh I'm not, Collen sent me a message when I was sleeping that he told Skylar about the spell and everyone is getting to work on figuring out how to break it so I have help. I sent him one before going to bed so he had my number because I forgot to give it to him. You really want to help or do you just want to keep an eye on him around Alexander?" 

"More so keep an eye on him but also to help, I may be a vampire but I'm not that much of an ass." He huffs and I wrap my arm around his shoulder and kiss his neck, causing him to moan and blush. Ass my ass, he's such an easy target to make blush and turn into putty in my hands. 

"Stop that, I am horny since we met our mates and didn't get to do shit with them so teasing me right now will end up with you having an abused hole." He said and I chuckled.

"Since when has that ever been a problem for me?" I ran my hand down his strong back and squeezed his firm ass, causing him to jump slightly and laughed at his flushed face. 

"Maybe it's your hole I'll abuse later if you're a good boy." I teased and licked his neck. He shivered and grabbed me, pulling me to the side of one of the many buildings on campus. He pushed me against the wall and kissed me, hard. Biting my lip causing it to bleed and that only turned me on even more, as well as him. 

"Naughty mates, you shouldn't be doing that out here for all to see." I heard Killian say from behind us. 

"Well, I don't mind, as long as I get to join in." He winked and came closer to us.

"What are you doing here Killian?" I asked, trying to catch my breath.

"Collen is here talking with the crew so I tagged along to spend time with him and figured I would come to say hi to you both while we were here and hello to you too." He kissed us and winked, then blinked and he was gone. 

"Well now, come on let's get going before we're late." Calder said and we fixed ourselves before walking off to class. On the way, we passed Killian and Collen talking to a group of men and one of the men was just as beautiful as Killian and Collen, he seemed to fit with them in a way. He was tall, had a strong aura around him and he smelt different, a scent I have never smelt before, one that definitely doesn't smell of human, wolf, vampire or even other creatures, I can't place it though, that is going to bug me but he smells so good, rain and evergreen trees.

"You smell that?" Calder asked and I could only nod, having a hard time with my words because his scent is so strong. I wonder how anyone else who isn't human can handle being so close to him.

"I wonder what he is." He mindlinked me since we are closer to them and they have perfect hearing.

"No idea but it seems they don't sense it for some reason. He also seems like he doesn't know what he is with his posture and the way he's talking and acting." 

"Mhm, we'll have to keep an eye on him, I don't trust what I can't sense and he's a mystery. I don't want any harm coming to our mates or that family." He said and I agreed. 

We walked into class and I tried paying attention but I couldn't. My mind kept drifting to that man and also thinking of where to do some research on Collen’s spell when I get home. It's going to be a long night but we will figure this out, one way or another.
