CHAPTER 16 

Maddie's POV 

                 The next day I decided to go out and explore the neighborhood. I'd just finished getting dressed for a hike when my phone beeped, 

From; Drewbear! 

Hey Madhatter! Heard you finally moved here, mind if I swing by? 

To; Drewbear! 

Hey Drew! Was just about to go out and explore, wanna be my tour guide?(:

             I couldn't help but smile as I read his last text. I had a major crush on him. But he had a really overprotective girlfriend who did not like me. "What're you so smiley about?" Demi was standing in the doorway. Last night she was too tired to drive home so she stayed in a guest room. I shrugged, "Nothing." She narrowed her eyes, "Why are you dressed? Where are you going?" I cocked an eyebrow, "Out." She crossed her arms, "With who." I sighed, "No one." Demi rolled her eyes, "Going out where?" I stood up as OI heard a car pull up outside, "Nowhere, see ya Dems!" Before she could stop me I bolted out the door and into the driveway. Drew waved and I got in his car smiling. 

                  "Hey!" He smiled, "Hey Mads!" I looked nervously at the house, "C-Can we go? I'm running from my sister." Drew laughed and put the car in drive, "Leggo." Just as we pulled away I caught a glimpse of Dem running out of the house in a bathrobe and rainboots waving her arms. The scene would have been quite funny if it weren't so absolutely terrifying. Drew smiled at me, "So.. Where to?" I shrugged and hit his shoulder lightly, "You're the tour guide!" He laughed and a warmth coursed through me, although it was quickly overtaken by the voices.

What, you don't actually think he likes you?

He'd never like a disgusting slut like you. 

           I felt Drew touch my hand, "Hey... You okay?" I shook off the demons and put on a smile, "Yeah! Fine." He smiled, then gave me his iPhone, "Here, pick anything. It's a but of a drive to the Hollywood sign." I squealed, "We're going to the Hollywood sign?!" He laughed, "Well yeah.. we gotta start somewhere!" I scrolled through his music and quickly found one of my favorite songs. The opening notes rang through the car and Drew flashed a smile, "How did I know you would pick that one?" I giggled and shrugged, then began to sing. Drew eventually joined in at the chorus, "Look for the girl with the broken smile, ask her if she wants to stay awhile and she willlll be loved, she will be loveddd." We both belted the lyrics at the top of our lungs and burst out laughing. "Dang Mads, You're a great singer!" I struggled to keep up the smile, singing in front of people was something I hated. 

Are you kidding? You'll never be as good as Demi. 

She's always be better than you at everything.

Always living in her shadow, you're pathetic. 

             "Thanks." He smiled, and focused back on the road, "So how're things going between you and Lindsay?" I asked, desparate to get off that topic even if it meant his psychotic ex-girlfriend. "We broke up about a month ago.." My mouth fell open. As much as I hates her, they were cute together and he seemed happy. "What?! Why?!" Drew shrugged, "She cheated on me. But it's fine, I'm over her now." I frowned, "What a bitch." He let out a loud laugh, "Thanks babe." I cocked an eyebrow and smirked, "Babe?" Drew's face turned bright red and stuttered over his words, "N-No. Not b-babe. I mean it just slipped out." He broke off as I started laughing, "Drew! It's fine! You should've seen your face!" He groaned, but laughed with me. "Oh hey! We're here!" I pressed my face against the window ands squealed, "I've always wanted to come here! I'm so excited!" Drew laughed, "It's a bit of a hike to the viewing station, you sure you wanna do this?" I smirked, "Why? You not up for it?" "Oh it's SO on."

           After an hour of hiking uphill, we finally made it to the viewing spot. It was beautiful. "Let's be complete tourists and take a photoshoot!" Drew said, smiling. I turned around and turned my phone to front camera. We both smiled cheesily, then took a couple of silly ones. At the last picture Drew turned my head towards his, "Take the picture on three, one...two...three." He leaned forward and pressed his lips to mine. My heart beat wildly and I took the picture. Keeping our lips together, Drew grabbed my phone and pushed it into his pocket. Then he wrapped an arm around my waist and pulled me closer. I took a quick breath as we pulled away then kissed him again and again and again, loving the feeling of his lips on mine. Drew pulled away and rest our foreheads against each other. "Maddie will you be my  girlfriend?" I couldn't hide my blush, "Of course." He smiled, "You don't know how long i've been wanting to do that for."  And kissed me again, we stayed in each other's arms for another five minutes before he pulled away, exchanging my waist for my hand. "We should get back, I'm getting kinda hungry." I froze, eating. In front of Drew. Oh shit. I allowed him to lead me back down the trail, since we were going downhill and didn't have to stop, it took us only fifteen minutes to get back to the car. Drew opened the door for me, then got in. "So, where do you wanna eat?"

              I sat at the table watching Drew inhale his huge burger. We decided on In-And-Out burger, well Drew did when he found out i'd never been here. I looked down at my wrap, my demons were screaming at me as I picked it up and raised it my mouth. 

Fat. Worthless.

How could he ever love a fat whale like you?

You're so fucked up it's disgusting. 

Tears came to my eyes and I dropped the sandwhich on my plate. Drew looked up with concern, "Hey, you okay?" I stood up, "I...um.. I gotta go." I bolted for the bathroom, Drew ran after me with a yell.

               I slammed the bathroom door and slid down it, sobbing as I tried to drown out the voices. Drew pounded on the door, "Maddie! Please let me in! What did I do?" I let out a strangled cry, "Go away!" He shook the door handle, "Maddie let me in, please!" I sighed, too exhausted to fight anymore, and opened the door. Drew slipped in and sat down next to me, pulling me into a hug and letting me cry into his shoulder. "Mads, what's wrong?" I shook my head, "I can't tell you, because I can't lose you." Drew shook his head and kissed my hair, "You could never lose me."
