Diana's POV

My hands grasped the railing tightly. My head hung low as I sighed. Lifting my head a little, I took in the soft whisper of the wind and trickle of the stream below. This was my favourite place...the place where I bumped into Hoseok....

~Flashback~

I wandered the park alone and relaxed to the sound of birds chirping. It was my favourite time of the year,
summer~ Somehow I ended up on a wooden bridge, the redwood entwined with ivy and flowers. It was gorgeous. Lost in my thoughts as I ran my fingers along the delicate carvings, I had to crash headfirst into someone else. I nearly swore as I looked up at the handsome man, his long face in shock as well.

"I'm so sorry!" we mumbled together.

We both looked at each other akwardly and he scratched his nape nervously.

"Umm...I know this is akward and all but do you wanna go for coffee I mean I know we just met and all but it is like a token of apology and well.." I gulped as I realized I was ranting. I blushed slightly, looking at my shoes.

"Why not? I'm Hoseok by the way!" He chuckled as he saw how flustered I was.

" Oh..well my name's Diana.." I replied, embarrassed.

"Well DIANA let's go get coffee!!" He cried as he pulled me to the nearby coffee shop. Man this kid was optimistic.

~End of Flashback~

I smiled sadly at my reflection in the water. It wasn't long before tears started mingling with the clear water. I sobbed as I thought of Hoseok. His smile, his aegyo, his dance moves...the way he made me laugh each day....The tears came faster as I cried. I was supposed to be happy, to be delighted at his wedding with Anna...she was the one he was infatuated with at first, wasn't she?

By this time, Anna would be striding down that aisle...the aisle I imagined time and time again that I would walk on someday...turns out all of my hopes were just daydreams.

My heart was falling to bits as I let all my despair out, breaking down on the bridge. I was a void of nothing...

The tears came for the longest time. My throat was hoarse and my eyes stung as I finally accepted reality. Placing one foot after another was all I needed as I shakily walked back home..

The sound of footsteps pounded in my ear as I looked at the direction the sound was coming from tiredly.
And there I saw Hoseok...

He looked like a dead person. Still dresses in a tuxedo, his usually perky posture was replaced by an exhausted slouch. As soon as he spotted me, his eyes glistened. Smiling slightly, he walked closer towards me. Giving him a weak smile, I managed to congratulate him on his wedding and apologize for not attending. Sadly, he just stared at me.

"Diana...the wedding was put off...I stopped it.." Hoseok said, his face grim.

Shocked, I couldn't think of anything to say as Hoseok continued.

"As soon as I saw Anna walk down that aisle, I knew I made a mistake..I thought I liked her but turns out that it was all just a sad mistake.." he sighed. "It was you...it was always you...but now... I'm afraid I'm too late."

Hoseok was crying as he looked at the ground, his hands balled into fists.

"I called off the wedding and broke up the engagement...Anna didn't mind..she said she had only agreed to marry me because of my money and out of pity. She was never going to love me like an actual person...but you...you cared for me with a pure heart..."he managed as his hoarse sobs filled the air.

I couldn't watch him broken. I had no more energy within me after crying so hard but I still squeezed out a few tears for Hoseok. Gently, I pulled him into my embrace, his face hiding itself in the crook of my neck.

"Don't cry.... I'm here for you Hoseok...I will always be..."I whispered, stroking his back with my hand. I felt his hands wrap around my waist, hugging me back.

We stayed like that for an eternity, wrapped in each other's arms, like the world would fall apart if we let go of each other. I held him till his tears were dry. Straightening himself, Hoseok grinned slightly at me. His perfect eyes locked with mine as he got down on one knee. I gasped.

"I made a mistake once but never again. I am sorry I've been blind all this while..." He slowly took out a beautiful midnight blue box.

"Diana....will you marry me?" He smiled hopefully as he opened the box, revealing a gold ring with a delicately cut ruby in the centre. The gold metal was entwined with each other and the tiny diamond like crystals were embedded around the ruby. The words struck me hard. Feeling myself tearing up for the third time, I shakily nodded my head as I threw myself at him and squeezed the life out of him.

"This ring is not just to claim you as mine... it's a promise that I will never leave your side...ever..." he said softly, intertwining his fingers with mine after he had slipped it on.

"I love you Hoseok..." I said to him, grinning widely at him.

"I love you more Diana..." He breathed, leaning his head against mine.
