The Full Story.
Katie Price looked up at the star filled sky and thought about her life. The dark space in front of her was beautiful. There wasn't a cloud in sight.
Her actual life was a different story, but that didn't matter now.
A smile tugged at the corners of her lips as she thought about him. Lucas. He would be here any moment.
She looked down, away from the moon's intrusive light. Her ghostly pale skin almost glowed. She hated the sight, but refused to let it get her down. She didn't want Lucas to know about her problems. She wanted him to be himself and help Katie escape her sick reality.
Lucas came up from somewhere behind, laughing and grabbing her arms. She turned and couldn't help but giggle as her eyes met his. They danced with mischief.
"Hi," she grinned.
"Hi back," he responded, reaching for her hand. "Are you ready for tonight?"
"Yes," Katie replied, unsure of his plans, but Lucas always had something up his sleeves. In fact, Katie's life had been boring until she met him a few months ago.
"Good. Don't let go."
"Okay," her head nodded forward as she followed behind. It felt good to be so close to him. He walked quickly towards the shoreline, taking almost two steps to her every one. Katie could hear the waves slapping against the yellow sand.
They walked until they got to a small boat pulled up on the beach. Lucas motioned for her to get in, while he began to push it into the water.
"Are you sure this is safe?" Her heart was pounding.
"Yes," he laughed loudly.
She had never been on a boat, much less one the size of her bathtub. Reluctantly, she let him push them out to sea. He threw her an ugly orange life vest. "Put this on."
"Okay."
The small boat's motor roared to life. They headed towards the rocky cliffs that loomed off in the dark distance.
Lucas pointed. "You see that cave?"
Katie's eyes scanned the rock and then she saw it. There was a small opening.
"Yes!" She said, too quickly. Suddenly, regretting her response. "It's dark, we can't go in there—"
"Don't worry. Trust me," he squeezed her hand tighter.
She did, but Katie also didn't understand how Lucas had so much courage. He let off of the gas and the boat slowed as they came upon the cave's entrance. It seemed almost brighter inside and then she saw it...a beautiful waterfall. There were various colored lights behind it, creating a magical show.
"I came out here earlier," he looked over at her. "Do you like the lights? I wanted it to be special."
Katie felt as if every problem in the world had suddenly disappeared. Lucas pulled the boat near a ledge and began to tie off.
"Yes," she said. "I love it."
"Good. Last one in the water has to swim back!" He jumped. Katie followed. Her world felt complete. Healthy.
