"Savannah!!!"My favorite Lancasters' voice yelled excitedly from the distance.

I looked up and saw her running to me her cloak floating behind her with the wind. For Halloween my darling Clara had decided to go as Hermione from Harry Potter. She looked so cute in her school uniform and the robe that was wearing her instead of the other way round.

"Hello my little witch, how was school?"I asked catching her and pulling her into my arms.

"Good, we made fake candy in class."She grinned at me.

"Sounds fun, maybe you can teach me sometime."I suggested.

"Okay but can we go home now. I want to go trick-or-treating."My little bossy human demanded.

"As you wish, don't go putting a hex on me now."I replied opening the backseat door to secure her in her seat.

"What's a hex?"She asked me.

"That's your word for the day."I replied smiling at her through the rearview mirror.

She shrugged at me and took a juice box from the snack box in the car. I had made one when the kids were too cranky on the drive home and needed a pick me up.

Everyone was going home after school even though it was a Monday since there were no affect school activities for the day. All houses and buildings were decorated spookily giving the Halloween holiday the recognition it deserved.

I picked Ivy and Ethan next. Ivy and Shaday had decided to wear matching costumes and go as the best friends Dionne and Cher from the movie Clueless. I had to watch it to understand the reason behind the plaid outfits. They did look cute though but thankfully they weren't spoilt little brats.

Ethan the music lover had decided to go as Marshmello, the dj and music producer who never reveals his face to the public. It was a cool costume, easy to acquire so it hadn't given me much trouble. Thankfully Shaday's mom had handled the girls costume saving me all the trouble.

"Good afternoon guys, how was school?"I asked them as they got into the truck.

"Exhausting."

"Long."

They both replied looking tired.

"I thought you would be excited to go trick-or-treating later?"I asked them.

"We'll get enough time to rest before then, we can't miss on all the free candy."Ivy declared.

She didn't get any argument from me as I drove off the parking lot to go pick Luke and Daniel up. I didn't think the two would be into Halloween but they had surprised me by requesting I make the purchases for them. They were going as SWAT team members dressed in full tactical gear. Buying the costumes just for them to wear for one day would have been expensive so I rented them out instead.

They were already waiting with their friends when I pulled up so they quickly said goodbye and jumped onto the bed of the truck. I still struggled to fathom their fascination with riding back there when there was enough space for them inside the truck.

They did look cool though as they pretended to recreate a car fighting scene. I made sure to drive carefully before any of them got hurt and I lost my job.

When we got home they all got out of the truck and rushed to the kitchen for the after school snacks I always had prepared for them. I took my time fixing some of the Halloween decorations I had put up infront of the house. I don't know why people in Texas especially those who lived on ranches bothered to decorate their houses for Halloween when nobody got to see it. I didn't have a say in it especially when the boys had hauled a box full of decorations from the storage room and started decorating the house themselves. I had no option but to help continue build the beloved American tradition.

When I walked into the house twenty minutes later it was too quiet for my liking. With all the kids at home there was never a dull moment so when it was quiet, I became worried. I found all six Lancaster's in the kitchen whispering amongst themselves. It must have been a private family meeting that I wasn't privy to so I turned around and walked out slowly.

"Savannah."Nathan called out before I could make it through the door.

"Yes, sorry. I didn't know there was a family meeting."I apologized.

"It wasn't. We have something for you."He replied.

"What?"I asked surprised.

"A Halloween costume."Clara declared enthusiastically.

Everyone turned to her with a glare showing that's not how they had intended to deliver the news.

"Yeah what she said. You're the only one not wearing a costume."Luke said.

"I am in costume."I chuckled nervously.

I felt cornered with all of them all up in my business like that. Nathan was surprisingly in costume dressed as captain jack sparrow complete with all accessories like a fake sword or was it real, it was Texas, I honestly couldn't tell.

"No you're not."Ethan scoffed taking me by surprise.

"Yes I am, I'm a cowgirl."I replied showing them my outfit.

"That's what you wear everyday and you don't even have your stetson."Ivy reasoned.

They were all right but I had not celebrated Halloween since I was thirteen and I didn't even know what I would go ass if I was to get dressed up.

"Okay fine you win but I'm too old to dress up for Halloween."I lamented poorly.

"Papa is older than you and he is all dressed up."Ivy declared rendering my excuse moot.

"I didn't get a costume for myself, I wouldn't even know who to get dressed as."I retorted.

"That's okay, we already prepared everything. Your costume is waiting for you on top of your bed. Go get dressed, we'll wait here."Nathan replied.

The Lancaster's as a team were a force to be reckoned with especially when they were ganging up on me like that.

"I don't know."I mumbled unsurely.

"Please Savannah."They all requested harmoniously breaking out the puppy eyes.

"Okay fine I'm going."I relented my resolve breaking.

They all cheered as I stumbled out of the kitchen towards my room. Lying on top of my bed like a judgement waiting to be served was a garment bag. I picked it up slowly and unzipped it to reveal the most unexpected costume.

"Oh no they didn't."I exclaimed my mouth agape in shock.

I blinked wishing I could imagine the costume away but it was still there right infront of me. I couldn't walk back up there without it on so I fought against every insecurity and stripped out of the clothes I was wearing. I stared at the costume, more like glared hoping it would burst into flames but it didn't so I had no choice but to put it on. It fit me snuggly in all the right places but not in an inappropriate way.

After I was done, I looked at myself for a full five minutes on the mirror trying to gather the courage to go back up there. I could only delay for so long and I couldn't hide out in my room forever so I walked back up.

"Finally we were about to come look for you in.... "Nathan said but trailed off as soon as he saw me.

"Wow."

"You look amazing."

"So pretty."

"Nice."

"Cool."

All the kids exclaimed gazing at me in wonder. Their looks of approval gave me the confidence boost I needed to know that I looked good. Nathan was still gazing at me choking on air but the desire written all over his face said more than words could express.

"Thank you guys. I love it."I confessed twirling around for them.

For Halloween the Lancaster's had decided that it would be great if I went as a cheerleader specifically from the movie Bring it on, go Clovers. I had do admit that even though it was a little bit out of my comfort zone, I loved it.

"Why a cheeleader though I asked waving the pompoms over my head?"I asked.

"Well during Luke's game you expressed disappointment for not having a normal high school experience so tonight you get to be a high school cheerleader."Nathan explained.

Their reasoning behind my costume idea was enough to make me tear up.

"Thank you guys, I love it."I choked out.

I wanted to hug all of them but I couldn't, thankfully Clara saved the day by running to me. I picked her up and smothered her face with kisses feeling grateful for the blessing that was the Lancaster family.

"Okay guys enough family time, everyone go do their homework if you want me to release you to go trick-or-treating."Nathan demanded clapping his hands dramatically.

The kids groaned in protest but they didn't dare argue with him. I set Clara down who ran towards Luke wrapping her arms around his legs. He picked her up and carried her up the stairs to her room. Nathan and I were left alone and the sexual tension between us could be cut with a knife.

"Milady."Nathan teased breaking the silence as he bowed at me.

"Captain."I replied bowing back my words all sultry and pleading.

What I would have done to have him stick his sword in me and not the fake one.

Nathan looked at me from head to two, lust swimming in his eyes. His gaze burned me and I felt my panties flood with desire. It was the wrong place and the wrong time to be having such thoughts about Nathan but I couldn't help myself.

Nathan seemed to have the same thoughts because he took my hand in his and pulled me with him. At the moment I would have followed him to the ends of the world.

I thought he was taking me to my room since but he surprised me by opening the laundry room door, pulling me through it and locking it behind us.

"Your room is too far."He declared just before he pushed me against the wall and kissed the breath out of me.

I moaned the minute our lips touched surrendering to his touch. I wrapped my hands around his neck bringing him closer to me. Our lips moulded together in an euphoric embrace as my body wound around his like a vine around a tree. Nathan gripped my thighs and pulled me into his arms so I wrapped my legs around his waist. He stepped back, our lips attached and placed me on top of the washing machine.

"Fuck, what are you doing to me Savannah?"Nathan cussed stepping in between my legs.

"I could ask you the same cowboy."I replied pulling back to look into his eyes.

I could see more than lust swimming in his green orbs. Yes Nathan wanted to have sex with me but it was much more than that. His feelings for me went deeper than just being physical and honestly I felt the same. I wanted to have a baby with his eyes, a mix of our beautiful skintones, I wanted to build a life with the man infront of me and that thought didn't scare me like it should have. Instead I felt happy and safe because if there was anyone I trusted with my future it was the man holding me in my arms like a treasure.

"Seeing you in this costume makes me wish I'd gone as a jock."Nathan groaned running his nose on my neck breathing me in.

"But I like the captain costume, you look so hot."I admitted unashamedly digging my nails into his back and pulling him closer.

"I'm glad you approve because I really want to go hunting for treasure in this delectable body of yours."Nathan proclaimed kissing my neck making me laugh.

I could feel that he was holding back which was appropriate since we couldn't go too far with the kids in the house. But we could take advantage of the few minutes we had stolen to be naughty together.

I pulled Nathan's head back and kissed him, my plump lips encompassing his in a beautiful tangle. Nathan groaned when I ran my fingers through his hair so I did it again just so I could hear that sound again. He didn't disappoint as the vibrations of his moans travelled all the way to the valley between my thighs.

Nathan ran his hands over my thighs, kneading them making me wanton as I craved for more of his touch. I could feel his need for me pressing against his loose pants threatening to break through. I wished we could throw caution to the wind and get it on right there on the floor but the kids were in the house and I didn't want to risk any of them walking in on us.

"I think we better stop before I do something we'll both regret."Nathan mumbled pecking my lips softly.

"I'd never regret anything with you."I admitted.

It was true. Sure it would be bad if one of the kids walked in on us but what would be so bad about them finding out. The only downside would be if they didn't approve of my relationship with Nathan. Their approval meant the world to us and it was one of the main reasons I was afraid of telling them.

"All in good time milady but for now I need to go and check why it's so silent up there."Nathan said stepping back and putting some distance between us.

I knew he could feel what I was feeling but we had time to be patient and build our relationship before laying it on the kids.

"Take a minute, I'll go check."I chuckled looking at the not so little problem bulged in his pants.

"That would be wonderful."Nathan groaned adjusting his pants but it did nothing to hide his desire for me.

I jumped off the washing machine and adjusted my clothes.

"I'll see you out there captain and maybe we can continue this treasure hunt after the kids leave."I suggested my voice dropping an octave.

"Of course milady."Nathan winked at me.

I kissed his cheek and skipped out of the laundry room waving my pompoms in the air happily. I was drunk on my happy hormones.

The staircase was decorated with fake cobwebs and the pumpkins the kids had carved out with candles in them. Mine was right there too just below Nathans'. I had no idea why but seeing the pumpkin I carved amongst the rest made me really happy. I felt as if I was making my mark in the family. I knew there was a possibility my relationship with Nathan wouldn't work out for one reason or another but I chose to remain hopeful.

As I checked up on all the kids I was happy to see that they were quiet because they were actually doing their homework. I helped Clara with hers which didn't involve much so I just used it as an excuse to spend more time with her.

An hour later it was time for them to leave and go candy hunting.I had no no idea what magic Luke and Daniel had used on Nathan but he was letting them go trick-or-treating without adult supervision. I knew they were old enough and responsible but still it was a long way to go on their own especially on ATV's. Just because they had four wheels and not two didn't mean they were safer than normal motorcycles but Nathan has agreed and since he was the parent I couldn't fight him on it.

"Take care of your sisters and yourselves. One scratch on either of you or the ATV's and you're rounded for life."Nathan demanded as we said goodbye to them outside.

"Yes captain."Luke and Daniel chorused looking amused by their little joke.

"Please take this seriously before before I make you stay home."Nathan demanded.

"Pops calm down, we'll be okay."Luke assured him.

"I hope so, call me in case of anything."Nathan demanded.

"We will but hopefully we won't have to."Daniel replied.

"Have fun my little witch and don't take too much candy."I requested helping Clara get onto the ATV behind Luke.

Ivy rode with Luke and Clara while Daniel and Ethan took the second ATV.

"Bye guys, have fun."I waved at them stepping back so they wouldn't ride over my toes.

"Don't worry, they have been riding since before they could reach the peddles, they'll be fine."Nathan assured me as we watched the ATV's ride off into the distance.

"I hope so."I mumbled quietly turning around to get into the house.

"You're such a mama bear, I love it."Nathan declared wrapping his arm around my shoulder pulling me closer to him.

"That's not even funny."I chuckled as we walked into the kitchen.

I made sure the kids were well fed before they left but Nathan and I hadn't eaten yet so I made us a plate of food, spaghetti with homemade sauce and mushrooms.

"Dig in."I invited Nathan pushing his plate closer to him together with a cold beer.

It was just the both of us so we decided to eat in the kitchen.

"Thank you."He smiled making me feel all giddy inside.

It was a wonder how such a small gesture from Nathan could affect me so much.

"I need to ask for a favor, you can say no but I'm really hoping you won't."Nathan requested me.

"Ask away."I replied.

"Clara and her class are going for a field trip to an aquarium in Houston and they asked me to chaperone. A bus with thirty or so kids isn't how I want to spend my day so can I please ask you to go on my behalf."Nathan pleaded.

"So spending a whole day with thirty or so kids is how you think I wanna spend my day."I retorted.

"No I don't think that but you're amazing with kids, you'll be much better company than me."He enticed.

"I don't know Nathan..." I mumbled trying to maintain a straight face.

"Please Savannah."He begged.

I looked at his pleading face and chuckled. It was just so cute.

"Calm down, I'll go. Clara already asked me and I said I would talk to you about it first. I don't know if a nanny is allowed to go as a chaperone."I replied.

"Seriously? Then why were you trying to give me hard time about it."Nathan demanded.

"I wanted to see you beg."I grinned at him.

"Well you go your wish. So you'll go?"He asked.

"As long as you talk to their teacher and make sure it's okay I'll go."I promised him.

"Thank you beautiful."He replied the compliment making my body flood with heat.

"You're welcome and besides I'm doing it for Clara."I replied trying to shrug it off.

"I still can't believe she asked you and not me. You guys are getting closer."Nathan commented.

"Is that a bad thing?"I asked hoping I wasn't crossing the line.

"No, it's actually great. It means the kids see how amazing you are just like I do. It will make things much easier for us when we want to take the next step into our relationship."Nathan assured me.

His words gave me comfort that I was on the right track with all of them. I didn't want to disappoint the kids since they already meant so much to be and I also wanted to keep cozying up with their father.

After Nathan and I were done with dinner we made popcorn and settled down to watch The Conjuring. I didn't get easily sacred but that movie gave me the creeps the whole time we watched it. As instructed Luke and Daniel kept sending us photos and regular updates reassuring us, especially me that they were okay.

After the movie I didn't want to watch another one so I did the only thing I could think of to kill time. I sat astride Nathan, my legs on either side of his and kissed him. He didn't protest and instead pulled me closer deepening the kiss. We passed time making out and exploring each other bodies with our hands unable to go much further.

The kids came back on time happy and exhausted and I could finally relax and stop worrying about them being out at night on their own.

My first Halloween in a decade ended with me hiding candy from the kids so they wouldn't gorge on all of it and putting super hyper tiny humans to bed. It was a struggle since they were all high on sugar but Nathan and I managed together as a team.

"Thank you for the best Halloween ever.I loved every minute of it."I whispered to Nathan as he kissed me goodnight.

"You're welcome and I look forward to many more with you. Goodnight milady."Nathan replied kissing my forehead.

"Goodnight captain."I replied pecking his lips and standing back.

Nathan waited until I was safe inside my room before walking away his footsteps fading into the night. I jumped on my bed feeling like a silly schoolgirl who was having all her dreams come true. I was happy after a long time of being sad and broken and I hoped that the feeling was there to stay.
