Savages
The half-dressed men escorted the alien group through hallways unlike any they were familiar with. The architecture seemed Roman although it had much more non-euclidean features to it. Eery lights flashed before the travelers' eyes, emanating from grooves in the walls as they walked past.
One of the members of the crew, twin sister to laborman Apollo Delian, Artemis Delian, felt slightly nauseated by the happenings in this strange unfamiliar land tens of thousands of leagues under the sea. She had no clue as to how she was breathing. When the rock cracked and the water flooded in like Mount Vesuvius erupting right in front of them she was sure it was an instant death. She briefly considered the idea that this was heaven and she was being led to the lord.
She would be led to the lord alright, but not the one she anticipated.
One of these marked men pushed open the golden doors in front of them and the expedition were brought into a room that must have been built partly from El Dorado itself. Gold, silver and bronze was infused everywhere in bright swirling patterns on the walls and floor. Art of a kind she knew not about lay smeared on the walls. It seemed like a blend of Renaissance, Egyptian and Classical but it was too outlandish to classify it as any one.
They were brought before the king, and the sight was truly something for Artemis to behold. He was young, barely an adult, and was dressed in only a blue patterned towel or cloth around his waist. His chest, arms and neck were lined with light blue markings, perhaps tattoos, and his skin was tanned with his hair black.
But that was not the most shocking thing about him, no. As he lounged on a greenstone throne, a woman was on her knees in front of him with her head bowed over his waist. A concubine servicing her king.
Perseus rested his head against the back of his throne as the slut sucked her king off dutifully. Rachel, the apprentice to the kingdom's seer, had no qualms with him when he told her to get on her knees in front of him. The redhead quite enjoyed doing what she did, and over the past years as the boy-king of Atlantis, Percy had found her to have one of the better mouths in the kingdom.
As he felt himself nearing a climax, he grabbed at Rachel's red hair and pushed up and down harder, trying to finish quickly in her mouth. When he looked up and saw the entourage his bodyguards had brought, he slowed to a halt, though Rachel kept going.
"Iason! Råkkar inb deu pteremai para uizit?!" He yelled, and one of the guards- the blonde one- stepped forward. "Deus, Rexus, wallach ik in wasaw et hållah." He greeted the king respectfully.
Artemis turned to her brother worriedly. "What are they saying?" She asked, and the blonde shrugged. The cultural expert in the group, Hermes, looked at the aliens with squinted eyes. "I can't be too sure. Its like a mix of languages. I'm finding Latin, Greek, Arabic, Nordic, basically every language is just garbled into one mess. The guard greeted the king as 'Deus, Regus', however. God-king?" He rambled, trying to make sense of it all.
The guard then stepped aside and gestured to the group. "Zieg nassie icnh lasz, Deus, Regus!" He announced, and the king suddenly stood up. Without a care he pushed the concubine to the side. Rachel fell to the floor and wiped her mouth with her wrist, quickly standing and brushing herself off before scampering out of the room.
Thankfully his... thing had disappeared under his skirt thing, perhaps a kilt? Actually, the looked much more like pteruses but instead of leather strips there was purple, blue, white and gold cloth. He was wearing Greek sandals and had no shirt, revealing the glowing blue tattoos that all the people she had seen so far aside from the concubine had possessed. However, the king's were much more dominant than the guards', with more elegant and terrifying designs and a brighter glow.
The king walked down the stairs slowly, intimidating all the others. The guards kept them forwards though, and as she was front and center of the group Artemis felt like the most vulnerable.
The man reached the bottom and stood only two feet or so in front of them. Artemis could see his face clearly now. He was tanned with uncombed black hair, another one of those tattoos going up past his eye and just faintly she could see a few scars on his cheeks.
The king looked to the other guard and spoke. "Franca, Iason, duq del tuur haltenem. Uth koi nej tuur råkk icbh borha dut." He commanded, and almost immediately the two guards moved forward and held the group.
Her companions cried out and struggled, but somehow the guards were holding two full-grown men each without them escaping. In the noise and confusion, Artemis realised that she had not been grabbed, and she looked around for a means of escape.
There was no escape however, as the king in front of them quickly stepped forward and grabbed Artemis' sides. She gasped, thoughts running through her mind one after another about what was going to happen to her. Her guts could be torn out, she could be enslaved, eaten, used by the king and his men as a toy, or even just imprisoned. What she didn't expect was for the king to lean down and kiss her.
"NO! HEY- GET OFF HER!" She could hear her brother shouting from behind her as a wave of energy overcame her. He put a hand on her side, still kissing her as Artemis stood frozen. Unconsciously, she shut her eyes and relaxed, not noticing the light ringing and burning sensation all over her body.
After a few seconds he pulled away and Artemis' eyes opened. She looked down to make sure she was still alive and nearly screamed. On her hands were the same glowing tattoos as the king and the guards, only hers were silver. "Wha- what's happening to me!?" She gasped out, checking all the visible parts of her body and sure enough, the tattoos seemed to be all over.
"Are you alright, my lady?" She heard a voice, and the girl's head snapped up. The king was flashing her a charming yet caring smile and he stood there with his hands behind his back. She weakly pointed a finger at him. "You... You speak English?" She asked, and the king shook his head.
"No, you speak Atlantean." He told her, and Artemis' eyebrows furrowed. "Speak what?" She asked, not really hearing the word. The king flashed her that same grin and bowed. Like a proper European gentleman he grabbed her silver-marked hand and kissed it. "My name is Perseus, son of Poseidon and King of Atlantis." Artemis froze at the name.
"Atlantis? So... you mean... we actually-" She sputtered, in denial. Surely this was a dream? Maybe she did die in the flood. The man - Perseus - smiled warmly. "Yes, this is Atlantis. I assume that's what you meant?" He laughed, making Artemis blush.
He happily folded his hands behind his back. "So, my lady, what brings you here?" He asked. Artemis stuttered again, ignorant to their customs. Should she bow to the king? Was a woman even allowed to speak to him?
"Uh, sir- king? We come in peace." She bowed awkwardly. "We are part of an expedition by... the American.... Kingdom?" She tried, but try as she might, she was not the one who was supposed to be saying all this. He was currently being held back by guards.
Perseus smiled at her softly and waved at his guards. "Let them go. Come, miss. It is our culture to welcome you with open arms, the aggression was merely formality. What did you say your name was, my lady?" He asked suavely, and Artemis blushed. "Artemis. Artemis Delian."
Percy smiled. "That's a very pretty name, lady Artemis. Call me Percy." He said, offering a smile and a hand.
Before she could take it and follow him he was suddenly pushed back as a familiar head of gold stepped in front of her. "Get the hell of my little sister!" He yelled, punching the king in the face.
Percy reeled back, clutching his nose as the bodyguards ran up to point their spears at Apollo. Artemis' eyes widened as the guards looked furious. "No, Apollo!" She cried, holding out her arm. Percy winced as he clutched his bleeding nose. "L-ugh! Let him be!" He ordered, and the guards reluctantly left their spears to the side.
Percy looked at Artemis and smiled. "My lady, could you please tell your friend I mean him no harm?" He pleaded, and Artemis snapped out of it and turned to her brother. "Apollo, please. He means peace." She told him.
Apollo's neck whipped to the left. "What? You can understand him?!" He asked, grabbing his older twin by the shoulders erratically. Artemis nodded, looking down at her wrist which now had a long silver line running to her middle and ring fingers. "Yes. I don't know what happened when... I can understand them now. I'll- I'll explain it later." She said.
Percy walked over, grinning as he placed hands on Artemis and Apollo's shoulders, looking between the group members. "Come friends! I will call for a feast to welcome our guests, and I'll do my best to make sure you're all attended to. Whatever you wish, I'm sure we can provide. Bed, bath, drink, food, even women if you feel so inclined." He said merrily, and Artemis blushed.
"What did he say, Artemis?" Hermes asked, and Artemis recited the invitation to her comrades. She conveniently left out the part about the women, and the explorers unanimously agreed to take the king up on his offer.
Percy nodded and turned to a nearby maid. "Fetch your sisters! Show our guests the comforts of Atlantis." He ordered, and the nymph nodded and bowed slightly before rushing out.
He clapped his hands and backed up. "Well, my lady, if you need me I will be in my chambers. Just ask one of the guards or maids if you require me." He smiled a friendly smirk before leaving the throne room.
As the king left his guests to the hospitality of his servants Artemis looked down at her wrists worriedly, with the markings still glowing brightly.
