chapter1
"Your order, please" The steward of the school cafeteria asked I and the idiot sitting across me. The idiot was no other nightmare than 'Amarachi Eke'. It wasn't a good thing for her ever since I out topped her in the rank of popular girls. I was once a kind of nerd. I was emotionally and orally battered by almost everyone in school. Not like I was bad looking but they just hated me, The awkward girl.
In the beginning of our ss3 first term a cute prince charming joined my class and that was how I topped up. He was told to sit beside me as my seat partner since I had none, everyone isolated me. He seemed to pick quick interest in me and everyone was surprised. His name is actually 'Dindu' the abbreviation of Chidindu. He liked me and soon asked me out.
The whole school was feeling dazed and was quite speechless. That was something about 'Standard High School'- SHS, every class matter surely becomes school matter, so you won't get speechless when a junior student tells you what happened in your class during the week. Everyone was making fun of me and some were wondering how a boy like that picked of all girls me. And I spiced up their raw fury as I spent three weeks playing 'hard to get' before I finally accepted him. And like boom, every one started associating with me. Boys waved me as I walked across the hallway and down the stairs.
My status updated from the 'school nonentity' to one of the most popular girls in school. Just like that! But I didn't fail to receive scowls from the faces of other girls in my class who were drooling over and dying for 'Dindu'. And ever since then nightmares like Amarachi started following me 'butt to butt' to know the charm I used to get Chidindu and reach lime light. I kept ignoring them as always. I have always been a sweet savage bitch of sixteen but never as sarcastic as I am now. I got terribly sarcastic when i grew popular. Not to taunt people but to treat the parasites that have refused to acknowledge the fact that I don't want to be their host.
I looked up to the face of the steward who seemed offended that I was delaying him from carrying on other services and that I hadn't answered his questions. "What is your order, please?" he asked running out of patience.
"A plate of Jollof rice and fanta with a glass of sniper for the living thing across my table" I replied as Amarachi's jaw dropped.
Never in her life has she received such mean words and she never expected it from me. The dazed steward still went on to process my orders. I badly wanted to see her jaws drop to the ground so i went on with my comments.
"You better close that mouth of yours before some wondering flies get in there and have purging stomachs instead of nutrition." Her eyes now followed suite, bulging out like there was no longer sockets holding them in place.
Other students around us were looking at Amarachi with the expression 'Did she just say this to you?'. I was going to answer them 'No o! It's to the gods in your village' had they vocalized their expressions . The popular bitch stood up and left angrily and my prince charming came and took a seat beside me.
