WILLOW MOREAU is a celebrated film director on the cusp of her biggest project yet - a coming-of-age movie inspired by the most transformative summer of her life. Set against the backdrop of New York City in 1999, the film recounts her unforgettable experience as an intern on the low-budget indie film "Sunburn," where she met a then-unknown actor, Cillian Murphy. As they navigate their newfound independence, the emotional turmoil of being in their twenties, and the glamour of filmmaking, Willow and Cillian find themselves forming an unforgettable bond, only to be torn apart when filming ends and he's forced to back to Dublin.

Now, nearly twenty-six years later, Willow is ready to tell her story. But as auditions unfold, she is blindsided when Cillian himself shows up to read for the role as the person who got her that internship in the first place - her fifty-year old college advisor and the person Willow credits all of her success.

Memories of that summer flood back, intertwining with the emotions she thought she had long buried. As they reconnect on set, Willow grapples with unresolved feelings and the bittersweet nature of her and Cillian's shared past.

Willow must confront her memories and the choices that led her to this moment, as she learns that sometimes, the most transformative stories are the ones we live ourselves.

I. guys, what am i doing. why am i starting another cillian fic. what is wrong with me?

II. so I got this inspiration after watching sofia coppola's lost in translation for the first time. i'm really vibing with this coming of age, romance inspired troupe, and I hope I am able to do it justice! i fear this won't be too smutty, but there will be angst and longing, hehe.

III. this story will alternate between 1999 and present day, to show how willow and cillian's relationship developed and how it translates to their life as grown ass adults. unfortunately, this isn't an age gap (i'm leaving that just for my cauden stans)
