Saving Sakura

Summary: Team 7 learning to appreciate Team 7's Cherry Blossom. In other words, Sakura's sick. AND Naruto, Kakashi and an unwilling (SURE) Sasuke have to take care of her.

Ages: 17

Category: TEAM 7! FINALLY! Along with mild SasuSaku because I am SasuSaku trash XD.

Note: I'm doing this mostly because I've been sick lately and thought I'd get this out. Plus, it's team 7, ne? Why not?

"SHANNAROOO!" Sakura shouted, punching the ground of the training field. The ground began to crack and break, causing her teammates to have to jump to not be sucked into it.

Sasuke climbed onto a tree and examined Sakura, trying to find a weak spot in her defense. Naruto and a reading (as usual) Kakashi had a similar idea.

Sakura could sense their chakras, and tapped into her power, lifting a tree with ease. Even Sasuke had to gape as she swung the tree where she felt their chakras, which was to her left.

Kakashi shook his head at his student. "Sakura, Sakura." He tsked. "Always going to extremes." He put the book away.

Sakura smirked up at them. "Not so weak anymore, huh, Sasuke?"

She did change a lot. Even the '-kun' at the end of my name is gone. Sasuke admitted, examining the kunoichi. I think she actually got a lot prettier too-- wait a second, why did I just think that...?

Sasuke went down to have a one on one with her to distract his mind.

Sakura assessed her opponent.

Uchiha Sasuke. Specializes in genjutsu, was naturally good at ninjutsu and taijutsu.... he'll be a problem. Weaknesses? He leaves his back unprotected and attacks full on.

Okay, Sakura inhaled. You've got this.

Sasuke, who naturally lit his Chidori and charged at her, was surprised when she was right in front of him one second, then it was a shadow clone. He hadn't even seen her do the handsigns, which means that was a shadow clone the whole time. If her clone was that powerful.... one hit from her and this match would be over.

Oh, this'll be fun.

Sakura peeked her head out of the tree she was resting behind, waiting for Sasuke to find her. For some reason, she had a pounding headache, a sore throat and a running nose, and she was not in good condition for this fight. She'd either have to make another shadow clone, or send herself out there.

I want to beat him, so I'll go.

Sasuke scanned the woods for the pinkette, and was shocked when she came from behind a tree. She didn't look good.

"Sakura-chan!" Naruto shouted. "Are you okay???"

Sakura winced from the headache and her legs got a little wobbly. She couldn't stand anymore, so she went falling to the ground.

Sasuke aimed to get her before she made it to the floor, running as fast as he could, but Kakashi blinked there and picked up his student. He couldn't resist gloating to him about who was faster. Sasuke glared at him and leaned over Sakura.

"You okay?" He asked her, more gently than he does to anyone else. Kakashi noticed this and had to smile. He'd always secretly shipped the emo duckbutt and his female student, and it made him overjoyed when Sasuke and Sakura goaded on those dreams. "You know I win by default if you can't continue, right?"

Then he always got crushed.

Sakura glared at him. "Not *cough* FUNNY, Sasuke."

Kakashi put a hand on her forhead and pretended to not see the death glare Sasuke sent his way as he felt her temperature.

"Sakura, you're burning up." Kakashi bit his lip. "We have to get you home."

"Good *cough* idea sensei."

"SAKURA-CHAN, SAKURA-CHAN, ARE YOU OKAY?" Naruto asked, running up to his teammates.

"Naruto, I will Chidori you if you don't shut up. Sakura has a headache." Kakashi answered, glancing at the wincing Sakura.

"Where have you been?" Sasuke scoffed at Naruto.

"I uh.... Well, I kinda got stuck in the tree..." Naruto scratched his head, smiling goofily with his eyes closed.

Sakura giggled, coughing, and Sasuke just stood there, looking completely unamused.

"Tch. Dobe."

"WHAT DID YOU CALL ME, TEME????" Naruto shouted angrily. Inside, he was happy he made Sakura giggle, but the teme just made him too angry.

Meanwhile, Sasuke and Kakashi were having a conversation about what to do. "Are Sakura's parents home?" Kakashi asked Sasuke and he shook his head.

"Sakura's parents left for Suna and planned to stay there for a week, remember?" An exasperated Sasuke told him.

"Eh, well, I was otherwise occupied." Kakashi defended himself, ducking to avoid the glares he was receiving from his male students.

"Yeah, reading that stupid book of yours!" Naruto scowled. "I swear, sensei, one of these days you need to get a life, before I tear your book to pieces."

Sasuke rolled his eyes, then a sleeping Salura caught his attention. "Let's just get her home and get this over with. Maybe we can call Ino or Temari to come take care of her."

"You forget," Kakashi spoke up, starting the walk to Sakura's house. "That the girls are out of town on a trip. Sakura stayed here to, and I quote, 'take care of you bakas.'"

"What about Granny Tsunade?" Naruto asked Kakashi, joining in on the walk.

"What part of Girls Trip did you not understand?"

Sasuke sighed. This is going to be long day.

Sasuke layed Sakura on her bed and backed away, stopping himself from marveling at how pretty she looked when she was asleep.

"Okay," He sighed. "Now that that's done, I can go home."

Then, as if on cue, Sakura started coughing violently.

"Seriously?" Sasuke groaned. Kakashi and Naruto were staying behind to keep an eye on the sick kunoichi, but Sasuke didn't quite trust the knucklehead and the pervert alone in a house with Sakura. Why did Sakura have to choose today to get sick? If one of her crazy friends were here, that would be a million times better than the dobe and the smut reading sensei.

Wait no... She's friends with Ino.... Scratch that. The blonde would probably shave Sakura's hair off while she slept as a joke.

Sasuke shuddered. Why did he just happen to be the only sane one here at the moment? He could really use a Neji, or Hinata, or Gaara. Even Shikamaru, honestly. Someone that cared enough to not let Sakura get hurt. And Sasuke was the only one like that here at the moment. He just had to deal.

"Fine." Sasuke muttered, although Sakura never really asked, "I'll stay here with you for now."

Kakashi was seated on the couch, minding his own business, when he heard a suspicious banging coming from the kitchen. "Great," He thought out loud, turning down the show he had been watching on Sakura's TV.

Normal Kakashi couldn't care less, but Sakura was sick, so his world was practically flipped upside down. When Sakura gets sick, things go to hell. She's the woman, the calm and collected one. She's supposed to be not only perfect, but also more or less a rock of the team. Naruto played a big part in that, of course, but without Sakura, it was common knowledge that the team wouldn't last 4 minutes.

Sasuke would somehow find a way to anger Naruto (wouldn't be that hard, really,) and the two would have a giant fight and end up dead, leaving a very drunk, very crazy Kakashi, and his worn but loved copy of Jiraiya-sama's Icha Icha Paradise book. Not to mention the bills for the funeral.

Kakashi shuddered. Thank God for Sakura.

So Kakashi, who actually cared, this time, (he makes no promises for the future) went into the kitchen and found Naruto making a mess of things, looking for the ramen ingredients.

"Hey, sensei. Wanna help me look for ramen for Sakura-chan?" Naruto asked innocently.

"Naruto, why would Sakura want ramen at a time like this?" Kakashi sighed and began putting the ramen stuff away.

"'Cause she's sick! And ramen is even better when you're sick, believe it!" Naruto grinned, taking the stuff Kakashi had just put away back out again.

"She doesn't need ramen, what she needs is tea! Tea!" Kakashi frowned and began pulling out the tea things.

"Kakashi-sensei!" Naruto whined. "What kind of old lady do you think Sakura-chan is???"

Sasuke bursted through the door looking dishevled. "Guys, Sakura's awake and wants something that will help her throat! And she wants it now!"

Kakashi and Naruto exchanged glances.

"RAMEN!"

"Tea!"

"RAMEN!"

"Shut up and get her something, fast!" Sasuke shouted at his teammates.

"Geez, what's gotten into you?" Naruto muttered, getting the things for ramen. Kakashi put them all away after her did that, smirking.

"I don't really know what to do with sick people. I haven't taken care of someone in forever." Sasuke admitted awkwardly.

"Neither have I." Kakashi confessed, pulling a tea bag out of its place.

"Me neither." Naruto affirmed, putting the tea away.

"We have no idea what we're doing, do we?" Sasuke sighed, looking at Kakashi and Naruto.

"Not a clue. But Sakura-chan's gonna have ramen."

"FOR THE LAST TIME, NARUTO, SHE'S SICK. SHE WILL WANT TEA." Kakashi groaned at his stubborn student, and turned off the burner on the stove. Naruto flicked it on, he turned it off again.

"You two shut it before I put you on time out." Sasuke said, then began frantically running around and grabbing things.

"Did he just threaten to put us on time out?" Naruto asked, bewildered.

Kakashi nodded as Sasuke hustled past him, holding something in his arms. "He's taking this harder than he should..."

Naruto huffed. "I think Sasuke's gone crazy."

"Crazed."

"Psycho."

"Mental."

"Loopy."

"Dizzy."

"Insane."

"Deranged."

"Unhinged."

"Nutty."

"Bonkers."

"STARK RAVING MAD!"

"WILL YOU TWO SHUT UP? I'M NOT DEAF, YOU KNOW!" Sasuke groaned, putting coffee on. "Maybe Sakura would like coffee better than ramen or tea..."

"She's just sick!" Kakashi complained. "Tea would be better!"

"Coffee would help more!" Sasuke snapped, continuing to make the coffee. "It'll keep her awake."

"But what if Sakura-chan is hungry? Ramen would be so much better." Naruto whined.

"SHUT UP, dobe, I'm making coffee and that's final!" Sasuke replied, doing so.

"Well, I'm the sensei, so I'm going to make tea, too. When Sakura rejects the coffee, I'm gonna be there laughing in your faces." Kakashi said, getting the tea things ready.

"OH, SHOVE OVER. I'M MAKING MY RAMEN." Naruto scowled, pushing the other two further down so he could do his thing.

"My ramen? A few minutes ago you were ranting about how it's Sakura-chan's ramen." Sasuke snickered. "Make up your mind, ursuratonkachi."

"SHUT UP, TEME!"

《🌸》《🌸》《🌸》《🌸》《🌸》《🌸》《🌸》

Sakura stared out her window, cursing her pounding head and throbbing throat. Whenever she talked, she sounded like a frog. Not fun. Plus, she was in a lot of pain. Why not heal herself, you ask? Simple. The fight with Sasuke drained her chakra because she was already sick when she first fought them.

So far, the boys had been real sweethearts. Naruto dashed in with a wet washcloth to put on Sakura's head, Sasuke made sure she was comfortable, and Kakashi offered her his book to pass the time.

She said no.

When Sasuke, Naruto and Kakashi wheeled in ramen, coffee and tea, she wanted to cry. She ended up doing so and hugging her friends.

"You guys are the best." She sobbed into them.

Sasuke looked at Naruto, who shrugged, while Kakashi whispered,  "Mood swings," to clarify.

Sakura ended up eating all of the ramen and draining the coffee, and after that she attacked the tea.

So the boys never got to figure out who won.

But they were happy, since Sakura-chan got better two days after that.

And then, they got sick. It was Sakura's turn to play nurse, and the boys would willingly admit they enjoyed it.

All except Sasuke, of course.
