Kushina was having a great morning. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and her husband was beside her, not on some crazy mission with his students. Kushina adored all of them-- the little goofballs.

Rin was adorable, Obito was stubborn, and Kakashi was prodigial, but Kushina would like nothing more than to invite them all to breakfast and snuggle them. Minato would probably protest that they were ninja, not babies, but Kushina couldn't care less.

Then there was a sharp pain in her abdomen. She doubled over, gasping. Minato woke up abruptly, grabbing a kunai at the side of his bed and waved it threateningly. Sadly, since his hair and clothes were messed up, it wasn't really all that threatening.

He noticed his wife on the floor, and his face contorted in worry. "Kushina, are you okay?"

Kushina looked up from where she was curled into a ball on the floor to relieve the pain. "Its fine, I'm fine. You don't have to be worried."

"Do you want water?" Minato slid out of the bed and hurriedly went to the kitchen. "I'm going to make you coffee, I'll be right back."

Kushina did, in fact, want coffee. I have the best husband everrrr... Her inner self thought. Suddenly she was crying. Awww I love him so much and he's so adorable and I got so lucky with him....

Kushina looked at herself in disgust. When did I start crying?! Then she got mad at herself. You're so weak. It's the pain. Get over it.

Kushina got up, her good mood gone. She changed out of those clothes quickly, then went downstairs. As she had suspected, her clothes had bloodstains on them. She hissed in rage and threw them into the washer.

Minato had taken the liberty of making breakfast for her, and Kushina began to cry again.

Minato was confused when she started crying and telling him thank you and that she loved him, but had a feeling it was Kushina's time of the month again. He decided that he should take some time off and help Kushina out.

When he told Kushina that, at first, she got mad and socked him in the head, saying the village needed him, then she apologized and became a ray of sunshine.

Minato sighed. This week always makes me so confused...

Then the doorbell rang.

Kushina scowled. "Honestly, who would be visiting us this early in the morning?!"

She opened the door, and lo and behold, it was Minato's little students. She resisted the urge to start crying again, and hugged all three of them.

Rin smiled. Kushina was like a mother or a big sister to her, so she enjoyed the affection. Obito, however, squirmed and told the woman to let him go. Kakashi was simply used to it, and could sense there was something up with the woman.

Kushina dragged them inside and fed them, while Minato watched, amused.

Kakashi simply sighed. This woman is crazy...

Sasuke woke up, sighing heavily. It was raining, the sun was hidden, and his big brother was probably still on a mission. It wasn't going to be a pleasant day.

He slipped out of his room and down the stairs, yawning. He felt the usual amazing smells wafting from the kitchen door and entered excitedly. His mother made the best food ever!

Wait... That's not kaa-san...

Itachi turned from the stove, holding a pan and smiling at his ototo. "Hey, Sasuke."

A giant grin spread over Sasuke's face. "Onii-san!" He laughed, running to the older boy. He buried his face into Itachi's clothes and smiled. Itachi looked down at his little brother in surprise, but just smiled down at him, put the pan back on the stove, and hugged the little boy back.

"You're up early, I expected to have at least another hour to make you breakfast." Itachi told him, turning back to the stove. Sasuke sat down on the floor next to his elder brother.

"You're back from the mission early!" Sasuke exclaimed, the giant smile never leaving his face.

"I know. I might take some time off this week," Itachi told the boy, rubbing the back of his head.

Sasuke's smile only grew. Then he frowned. "That's suspicious. Why?"

"Because Mother is--"

"FUGAKU UCHIHA, I SAID I WANTED THIS MANGO RIPE!!! RIPE!!" A shrill scream came from Sasuke's parents' room. Then there was a sickening crash, and a shattering sound. Itachi winced visibly.

"--otherwise occupied..." Itachi sighed, looking in the direction of the yelling.

Sasuke heard his father apologizing to his mother over and over again, begging for her to, "put the lamp down, Mikoto".

This was completely unlike anything Sasuke had ever seen before. Mikoto Uchiha barely raised her voice higher than a normal conversing tone. And she never picked up lamps, as his father was insinuating, without the intent to move them.

"Is okaa-san sick?" Sasuke turned to his big brother, a frown on his face. "Should we make her tea?"

Itachi contemplated the response to that question. "Sasuke, okaa-san is in a lot of pain right now, so she isn't necessarily very happy." He thought about it some more. "Maybe we should make her tea..."

"Yosha!!!"

"But you're giving it to her." Itachi finished. Sasuke froze, then began complaining. "Don't worry, Sasuke. It's because you're younger and cuter, and Mother would never yell at anything so small and cute."

Sasuke blinked innocently up at his big brother. "Really?"

"Really," Itachi nodded, smiling at his little brother. You're also smaller, which makes it easier to evade whatever Mother may throw at you...

Itachi finished the breakfast, than gave it to Sasuke while he started on the tea. His father came by, grabbed something quickly, then left the house, also quickly. "I-I'll be back soon... your mother wants a ripe mango..."

"Bye!" Sasuke called to him. Fugaku managed a wave before the door shut completely. "What's wrong with otou-san, nii-san?" He asked Itachi, who poured the tea into a cup.

Itachi looked up, then shrugged. "He must be scared of kaa-san." He told his little brother. That registered in Sasuke's brain and his eyes widened. I thought otou-san wasn't scared of anything... Itachi noticed what he said had taken a toll on his younger brother and sighed. "But we aren't scared of Mother, are we?" He asked Sasuke. "We're big boys."

"Yeah!" Sasuke smiled, nodding excitedly. "Is the tea ready yet?"

"It is." Itachi nodded. He put the cup on a tray with a couple fruits, and handed it to Sasuke. "Don't drop it," he warned the five-year-old. Sasuke nodded, carrying the tray as carefully as possible. He was used to carrying stuff like this, Itachi had taught him how to do it, just in case he wasn't there to carry it himself.

Sasuke hesitantly reached out to open the door, and walked into Mikoto's dark room. Meanwhile, Itachi hovered by the door, just in case Sasuke needed backup.

"Okaa-san?" Sasuke asked, walking to the bedside. Mikoto rolled over and turned on the lamp beside the futton. When she saw who it was, she smiled.

"Aww, has Sasuke-chan come to give me tea?" She asked. She sniffed the air, then smiled. "Thank you, it smells amazing." She sat up on the futton and took the tray from the boy. She set it on the floor and scooped the little boy into her arms. Sasuke immediately noticed that her hair was messy (which it never is) she had tear streaks running down her face, and she was still wearing pajamas. "Have you been having a good morning? Nii-san has returned from his mission, right?"

Sasuke nodded in Mikoto's lap. She seemed normal to him, so he loosened up. "Aa, he made me breakfast and made you this tea." He replied.

Mikoto smiled at the little boy. "Good," She said sweetly. "Itachi, aren't you going to say hi to your mother?" She asked the elder boy, who was still hovering outside.

Itachi gulped, but made his way into the room. He couldn't just leave Sasuke in there with her... "Good morning, kaa-san. I hope you slept well." He said, kneeling beside her bed and kissing her on the cheek.

"Thank you, I did." Mikoto said. The boys could both feel the underlying threat. Should you so much as breathe wrong, I will wring your neck.

Fugaku returned, with the mangos, and entered the room to find Mikoto asleep on the futton, with his sons laying beside her, asleep as well. He cracked a smile, then began to peel the mango and left it on the tray beside the tea.

He decided that it would be good to go shopping again, just in case Mikoto developed any strange cravings during that week...

Present Time:

"Where's Sakura at?" Naruto asked Sasuke and Kakashi, frowning.

"She's..." Kakashi thought about it, then shook his head. "I don't know, actually. She normally tells me if she is going anywhere during Team 7 training meets."

"Odd." Sasuke commented, twirling the kunai in his hand.

"Should we go check on her? She never misses these, 'ttebayo." Naruto looked at Kakashi.

Kakashi's eyes widened. "Naruto, what day is it?"

Naruto frowned. "July 16th?"

Kakashi winced. "Yep, that seems about right."

Sasuke threw his kunai at a tree and came to stand next to his teammates. "What was supposed to happen today?" He was genuinely curious.

"Kakashi-sensei!!! Naruto! Sasuke!" Sakura called, running over to them.

"We'll see." Kakashi whispered to the confused teenager. "Ahh, Sakura. Nice of you to show up."

The sunny girl, who had a smile on her face, disappeared. "SHUT UP, KAKASHI-SENSEI, YOU'RE THE ONE WHO'S ALWAYS LATE. LEAVE ME ALONE."

Sasuke's eyes widened. What happened to her?

"C-calm down, Sakura, I didn't mean to provoke you." Kakashi gulped, holding out his hands.

Realization struck the girl and her eyes widened. "Oh, Kakashi-sensei, I'm sorry for yelling at you!!" She teared up. "I really didn't mean to hurt your feelings!"

"No, no, it's ok Sakura." Kakashi reacted instantly, petting her on the head.

"Jeez, Sakura-chan, I always knew you cried a lot, but this much is unhealthy, dattebayo." Naruto nodded, squinting his eyes.

Her eyes flashed red, and she reeled her fist back, knocking Naruto to the moon.

Kakashi looked at the flying blonde from hugging Sakura, and shook his head. "I should go get him. Sakura," he spoke softly. "Can you let me go get Naruto?"

"Are you going to leave me alone too, sensei?" Sakura teared up. "Everyone leaves me alone. Even sensei." She turned her big green eyes on Kakashi, and he sighed.

"Sakura, you won't be alone, you'll be with Sasuke. Sasuke will take care of you. Right, Sasuke?" Kakashi turned to his other student, who was watching the whole exchange silently.

"But I don't WANT Sasuke! He's an emo duckbutt! You're nicer." Sakura complained.

Sasuke winced. "I'll take care of you, Sakura. Just as long as you don't pound my head."

Kakashi sighed in relief, and pried the girl off him. He pushed Sasuke toward the pained girl, and poofed away.

"So..." Sasuke looked at the girl. She looked mad. Maybe she'd want to take her anger out. "Want to spar with me?"

From the way her eyes lit up, Sasuke had a feeling he'd be visiting the hospital today.
