[high school AU]

"Hey! Come back here!" 

Sasuke Uchiha ran out into the hallway and chased after his fellow homeroom classmate.

"Idiot! Who gave you permission to take my photo?!" Sasuke yelled as he continued to run, "what the hell?!" 

He stopped once he finally accepted the fact that he'd lost him, "dang it..." He continued walking back to his classroom staring at the floor, "if that picture gets leaked out, of course, they're gonna label me as the nightmare Uchiha... Like I care, I'm so used to it by now." Not paying attention to where he was going, another student ran right into him.

"Ah! Hey, watch where you're going!" Sasuke retorted but froze. It was a girl, "oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to snap--"

"You pay attention, asshole!" The girl yelled in his face, stepped back, then walked around him as if nothing had happened.

Who was that...?

"Hey, Sakura!"

The girl with long, blonde hair ran past Sasuke before calling back to him, "I'm sorry about that!" She turned back towards her friend and caught up with her, "hey, that was totally uncalled for!"

Sasuke watched as the two girls continued walking, then he blushed, "so... She's friends with her, huh? Heh..."

"Sasuke!"

He turned around as his best friend approached him, "Naruto."

"Let's get to class, yeah?" the Uzumaki grinned as he slung his arm over his shoulder and pulled him towards homeroom, "what are you doing all the way out here, anyway?"

"Yeah, sorry." Sasuke didn't say much, which was normally expected of him anyways.

"Okay, I've been friends with you since elementary school. Hell, I'm your only friend..."

"You don't need to bring that up..." Sasuke looked away. It's true... No one liked having me around, they always feared me. This idiot here was stupid enough to become friends with me, so he's all I've got...

"I know that you're never as quiet as this." Naruto grinned suggestively, "is it a girl?"

"What?!" Sasuke went beet-red, "no! Hell no!"

"Ha! It is, isn't it?!" Naruto cackled, "you were off to go see her, right? Huh? Am I right?"

"No. I just..." Sasuke cleared his throat, "I just so happened to pass by her while on a pursuit."

"Uh-huh. Pursuit for... Who?"

"Not her."

"Sure... Well? Tell me! Tell me!"

"Tell you what?"

"Are you that dense? Who the girl is, of course!"

Sasuke stopped, "uh, are you dense? There's no way I'm telling you that easily."

"Aw, come on, Sasuke!"

The two continued down the hallway until they reached their homeroom. Naruto headed in, but Sasuke glanced back down the hallway where the two girls had disappeared down another hallway. He smiled to himself then followed Naruto inside.

"Hey, that boy you ran into."

"Yeah? What about him?"

"He's Sasuke Uchiha. You remember hearing about him?"

Sakura Haruno glanced over at her friend, "yeah. The nightmare Uchiha, right?"

"He's the guy everyone's talking about! I mean... Aside from you. You're the board banshee."

"Shut up, Ino. I don't need to be told something I already know." Sakura murmured as she continued to eat her lunch.

"Yeesh." Ino chuckled, "well, do you know who his friend is?"

"I didn't think he had friends, with a terrorizing face like that."

"He's good friends with... Naruto Uzumaki."

Sakura froze.

"I knew that'd get you."

She turned to face Ino, "r-really?! That idiot is friends with... Naruto?!"

"Yep." Ino crossed her arms, "isn't that a coincidence? And you just so happened to run into him!"

"I mean..." Sakura pouted, "Naruto's got so many more friends, so what's so special about the Uchiha?"

"Well..." Ino tapped her chin, "you've never actually talked to any of Naruto's friends, so running into one of them is a good start."

"Whatever." Sakura chewed on her chopsticks and gazed out the window, "friend of Naruto, huh?"

"Yeah. I'll see you tomorrow." Naruto waved to Sasuke as he walked down the steps of the school entrance and out the gate.

"Sure." Sasuke reached into his pocket, pulled out his phone, and started scrolling through his texts, "none of them..."

"Hey! Unsightly Uchiha!"

Sasuke froze, "what the hell?"

"Yeah, you. At least you know your own name."

Sasuke turned to look at the girl that walked up to him, "hey, wait a second. You're--"

He immediately shut up when the girl shoved him back and punched the concrete wall that he now found himself standing against.

"Listen here, you." Sakura's voice lowered to a low, menacing whisper, "you and I've got something in common, yes? So..."

"Urk..."

"I want you to be my friend."

"What?!"

"I understand you've got some... Minor disparities that prevent you from making any friends. So that's why I'm offering you this limited-time friendship."

Sasuke swallowed hard, "what makes you think I'm going to accept a friend request just like that?! For starters, I don't know you. Second of all, do you think I'm going to say 'yes' to someone who nearly broke my face?"

"It's called threatening, sweetheart." Sakura grinned evilly, "now, do we have a deal or not? Oh, might I add... 'No' is not an option."

"What's involved, here? No one just comes up to me wanting to be friends just because."

"Hm. You're smarter than I thought." Sakura smirked, "there's something in your possession that I hope to do... Further research on."

"Wait a second..." Sasuke peered his eyes at her, then sighed, "are you talking about something, or someone?"

"Wh-what?! No, you ugly Uchiha!" Sakura yelled.

"Then why are you blushing?"

"I-it's..." Sakura gritted her teeth, "shut up, you mongrel! It's a deal. Got it?"

"Hang on, I didn't agree to anything!" Sasuke tried to stop her, but she'd dropped her fist and started walking away, "hey, wait a second! Care to tell me your name?"

"Hmph. Someone who doesn't know who I am must be a really dumb piece of cardboard." Sakura glared back at him, "Sakura Haruno."

That name... Sasuke's eyes opened wider, "h-hang on, are you... That Sakura?"

"Yes. The 'Board Banshee'... Happy? Of course, you'd know me by that name."

"What? No, I never knew you at all, until..."

"Hey, Sakura!"

The girl with long, blonde hair ran past Sasuke before calling back to him, "I'm sorry about that!" She turned back towards her friend and caught up with her, "hey, that was totally uncalled for!"

"You're friends with Ino Yamanaka, right?"

"Huh?" Sakura turned around to face him again, and the look on his face said it all. She smirked evilly, "ohhh... I see. Well..."

"What?"

"Here's the deal." She walked up to him again, "I'll do everything in my power to hook you up with Ino, if... You can hook me up with Naruto. Deal?"

Sasuke pursed his lips and thought for a long while before taking her outstretched hand and shaking it, "deal."
